I recently bought a backpack from eBags. Turns out I do not like the quality of the item and I wish to return it (unused and with the original tags still on the product). However, according to eBags... See more

STAY AWAY!!!
Worst customer service...non-existent. Stealing your money.
I had to look up ebags on wiki to see if this company was owned by an overseas company for their pure lack of customer service. Unfortunately, they are US owned based out of Colorado...shame on you! By far the worst on going customer service issue. Nobody returns emails. I am trying to return something that i bought and it's been over a month with no reply back yet. All i want is to return the goods for a refund. Crazy how businesses these days get away with this. I have to assume they will be going out of business soon. If you can't take care of the customer....you're dead in the water. Worst company. Highly urge not to buy from here if you potentially will return/exchange it.
Samsonite has killed ebags.
As has been stated, Samsonite killed ebags.
I’m unsubscribing from their mail.
What a disappointment.
How unsportsmanlike.
Like most have said, not the same company.
Like most have said, they are not the same company. I've used them for over 10 years and they used to be the best. I'm not sure what happened, but I would never buy anything from them ever again.
I echo the same dealing with support; 6 emails, countless chats over the past 2 months just to get a set of replacement wheel sent out. NOTHING. Not even a reply. In the past it took minutes sometimes to get issues resolved. Not to mentioned how many times, 1000's, I fly close to 200k miles a year for work and how many times I recommended eBags to everyone. Not happening anymore. I will tell people the opposite.
Horrible customer service after purchase!
DO NOT BUY! I have contacted ebags several times via email (direct and thru their web site) concerning stitching coming loose in my bag with not a single response. Believe all the negative customer service reviews because they are absolutely true. I even contacted Samsonite, who purchased ebags, with no response. This is the worst customer service ever experienced!
Read and believe all of the negative…
Read and believe all of the negative reviews! I've contacted them 5 times regarding a replacement liner for my cooler bag. After the 3rd try, someone replied asking for more information. But OF COURSE my reply to that one has gone unanswered for weeks! I just sent yet another email but I have no hope of resolving the issue. I would advise anyone reading the negative reviews to believe them and stay away. If you have any customer service issues, you have no hope of resolving them later. It's not worth it!
This used to be a fantastic company
This used to be a fantastic company. I don't know what happened. I bought a rolling duffel for my husband 10 years ago and it still looks new. Fantastic bag. I bought a rolling duffel for myself a couple of years ago and it had this nylon ribbing system (I'm assuming to make it more lightweight). The rib came out of its holder and punctured the bag, completely ruining it. I followed up with eBags. No response. I followed up again. They asked for more details. Then no response. I followed up again. They asked for more details again (I've now sent the same pictures 3 times). No response. I'm a regular customer (bags, packing cubes, electronics organizer, flat toiletries pack). I'm really disappointed.
Not the same company! Buyer Beware!
Like many other comments, I've traveled the world with eBags for many years. Gave raving reviews and recommended countless times. NO MORE. Have a 25" spinner bought just before Covid; been on plane trip since and the handle will not retract correctly to fit into plane overhead. Customer service used to be the best, now there's not even a phone number available on the website. Contact Us form for warranty claims never got a response. Found an old customer service number in a previous order confirmation, but no answer (got hung up on twice after 20 min hold).
Too bad. Used to be a fabulous company. Buy beware.
Do Not Buy!!!
I bought a backpack from EBags about two years ago. In that time I've used the bag on nearly a daily basis and lugged it around on dozens of trips. About six months ago the zipper to the main compartment started to come apart at a spot. At first it was no big deal but it eventually stopped letting the zipper advance past the point. This basically renders the backpack useless. I reached out to EBags to inquire if this standard wear would be covered under their so called "lifetime warranty" or if they had any options available for repairing it. They contacted me two weeks later and asked for some additional information. I promptly responded with the information they requested and waited for a reply. A couple weeks went by without a response so I followed up and asked if they had any information. It's now been a few more weeks without any response. Customer service could have eased the blow of paying for the low quality, very expensive bag, but they don't have any. I'll won't be a repeat customer and would not recommend them to anyone.
Be wary of eBags they don't respond to…
Be wary of eBags they don't respond to their "Lifetime Warranty". Sent all required info with no reply. Willing to replace wheel myself, response we don't have wheels."
Are they still in business?
Don't deal with this company!!!
I can see why this company has a 1.3 review status. I wish I would have looked at this before I even looked at their products. I went through the placing an order. The next step was to review the order before it is placed. This was for a gift that had to get there at a certain time. I would not have placed the order because the delivery charge for expedited service was very high. The next thing I know, the order is placed without me going to that step. I tried to cancel it before it was processed. The phone numbers they give you are only automated and then hang up. Now I paid a delivery charge for standard shipment and will have to pay a delivery charge to send it back. This is definitely not a company to do business with.
They were bought by Samsonite
They were bought by Samsonite, and now they absolutely suck. Used to be the best company around for luggage, now they're the worst. DOn't bother
Don't buy if you want a warranty or…
Don't buy if you want a warranty or customer service. This company has neither and needs to be shut down.
I've been calling and emailing them for a month with no response to my request for an RMA for a tear in my backpack handle.
No longer a loyal customer!
Sadly, I have been a loyal ebags customer for years and hate to leave a poor review, but it’s deserved. Recently, I had a very easily resolved warranty claim that was ignored (except emails apologizing that the warranty department was continually being reminded.. with no response.) I think something must be going on internally and the business is falling apart because there can be no other explanation for this level of poor service. They used to be amazing. They’ll sell all day but BEWARE of follow up customer service. I am NO LONGER a customer.
Will know better next time
Purchased a spinner carry-on bag, but after the first use found the extending bar was loose and wiggled back and forth significantly. It seems the bars are too narrow for the bag to remain stable while rolling/pushing. After reaching out to eBags with this concern, the rep copied positive ratings from past customers for me to review. It would have been courteous to show some understanding of the concern or to offer an exchange for the same item. This is customer service 101. I wasn’t asking for a refund, just expected a general regard for the problem. Will know better next time.
horrible customer service
Received a bag that damaged. Received a return UPS label to return the product. However, 2 weeks later UPS has lost the pkg which is not EBAGS fault. HOwever, IT IS NOT my fault either. Even though UPS said it was lost I had to 14 business days to file a claim at which time it took me over an hour to get a ticket # which they will investiage in 10-14 days. So it is going to take over a month to get a refund on a damaged product. I WOULD SAY THAT IS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I was a loyal ebags customer for years
I was a loyal ebags customer for years. Over a month ago I ordered a backpack that was indicated as shipped, but then was never updated on the UPS site. I asked ebags to look into it and they said there is nothing they can do until UPS resolves the issue. UPS says it’s an ebags issue. I asked for a refund and was told that isn’t possible. I am so sad to see a company that I once recommended to everyone has now become a scam and sham.
STAY AWAY!!
I was not happy with my purchase. Since I never used the item i figured I could return or exchange it. After speaking with customer service, they do not do returns, exchanges or credits!!!! STAY AWAY!!!
Fraudulent Business Practices at eBags
For years I was an avid eBags fan. Last year I returned a product and opted for a "store credit." There was no mention of expiration, but when I tried to use it later they said that the "code could not be found."
THE WORST PART: The service rep said that it was because it was a code from their old system, and that I should buy the item I want and then send her the order number. She would then give me a refund and deduct the amount on my store credit. That never happened. I have followed up numerous times.
I see that this has happened to many other people as well.
DO NOT USE EBAGS
DO NOT USE EBAGS - I loved the bags I got from them, however when part of a zipper broke and I tried to contact them for a warranty claim, I get nothing. Four contacts over a month from me without a single response! (and, yes, I checked spam). I used their contact form and their email for warranty claims and no response. HORRIBLE!!
