The Wayne Crowe Expirience

I've made three orders with EcoGreenStore. The first was for about £70. One item was not sent and refunded. The second, which was for about £500 took about 28 days to arrive, during which time no communications were sent as to when it may arrive. I thought this was bad enough. But after some time I realised they had not sent one of the items, valued at about £35. I told them I wanted it refunded. They answered in about 24 hours, ignoring my request for a refund and just said it would be sent soon. After about 72 days from making the order, I contacted them again asking for a refund, which was very apolitically given. I thought that I'd buy from them again, trading their cheap prices off against their abysmal service. So in March I made an order and didn't think much as the days rolled past and nothing arrived. About a month after the order I asked for a refund. I got an email back saying I would have the refund within 3-5 days, which I believe was just a stall tactic, as no refund or further communication was received. I had already started a PayPal dispute, which I escalated and as since there has been no word from cowboy Wayne Crowe. They have deleted their FaceBook page and the site has been down for maintenance for about a week, this maintenance conveniently has killed their control panel, which some distraught customers may need to help in their refund request.

Bottom line: If you are waiting for an order from this pathetic outfit, do it now. I'd be surprised if anyone gets a refund, but you're more likely to get one if requested sooner. That is, if Wayne Crowe has not already sucked this meagre husk dry. As mentioned, I got a refund from Eco before, sent by them. That they are telling people to get the refund themselves is pretty indicative that they do not have any money. Who knows where that has gone, as it seems there are 100s of customers who have been left in the lurch over a few months.

has ceased to trade

I always had good experiences with this company, but sadly they have gone into liquidation, such a shame.

I recommend buywholefoodsonline - I have never had a problem with them and they do good offers for signed up customers.

Terrible service have not sent a refund!

I have never had such a terrible experience with an online store. It really makes you reconsider online shopping. They delayed the sending of an item and then answered that they would refund me on my request. They however have not refunded me or replied to my emails. Quite upset! This shop should be avoided at all costs!

Trying to get money back

Very disappointed that I am having to go to dispute to get my money back. They were very slow to dispatch my previous order so I decided to give them one last chance. Bad move! I am now trying to get a refund via my card provider. Thanks for the information from other reviewers re. company going into liquidation. Have found another supplier in Totnes, which is an eco-supermarket based in the town with an online mail order service and will be using them from now on instead.

Nice idea but in practice terrible, terrible service

We placed an order in Dec 2014, chased and chased again, revised, changed order, misled repeatedly. We regret not taking a refund (as busy with family and work). I have to say that we had a very good service from them last year so I thought that the order for bulk goods would eventually come through. We are now concerned about whether we'll get our money back. Why hire such people if they're going to impact so negatively on the business...argh!

Great store actually, sad to see it go

I don't know a lot about economics but reading these posts it seems a lot of people understand even less! EcoGreenStore didn't have some evil plot to fob us all off.

Luckily I did manage to get a refund (my story is the same as several below; had an order pending, was emailed to say that they had problems with stock, then was emailed to say that they will not be able to fulfill my order).

I'd paid by credit card and luckily the issuer was able to refund. I was sad to see when I went to the EcoGreenStore website a couple of days later that they'd closed. I've had many successful orders from them over the past few years, certainly feel that I got my money's worth every time, I hope I can find another store that is just as reliable and efficient!

very bad customer service

I have ordered some goods, but the delivery did not arrive on time. Two weeks later I contacted them and they informed me that they are experiencing some problems with stock. I waited another week, but as no communication or update was given, I decided to cancel the order. They have promised to refund but never did and did not answer to my numerous emails sent to them.
Very bad experience

Fobbed Off

My experience is the same as many people on here it seems. I was waiting for two orders and kept being fobbed off with emails saying we are waiting for stock, some of your items are out of stock but new stock is due in a few days etc, etc but I was just waiting and waiting. In the end I just requested my cash back as they had replied to one of my many emails saying we are unable to fufill your order, (it was actually two) and asking me to contact my bank for a refund as they couldn't do that for me due to ' a change to merchant services'. I ended up opening up two cases for refunds with paypal and thankfully they are refunding my money. Reading the posts on here I'm so glad I paid via paypal. It sounds like they lied to a lot of customers. I was fuming as I had no apology or anything. I was very wrong about this company they have just ripped people off..

WASTE OF TIME & ENERGY

This company is a total waste of time. Placed an order waited nearly 2 weeks to be advised that they cannot fulfill order.

Opened a case with Paypal and got my money back as ECOGREEN STORE would not answer my emails.

Took money for order, now say they can't fulfill it and are ignoring communication attempts

Same as recent bad reviews...
I submitted an order (a small overseas delivery) mid-March. The order was confirmed and my CC charged the same day (which for virtually all reputable retail sites, means the order has been sent out -- they don't charge you until then).
Three weeks later, I get this vague email saying they can't fulfill my order, with no reason given or an apology why it took so long to tell me. I'm also asked to contact my CC company for a refund -- which won't be that simple, since they require me to resolve it with the merchant first, and only if they don't respond within 45 days, to they get involved. I don't even have detailed letter to forward to my CC company, since the EcoGreenStore email doesn't even mention the details of the order...
I sent them an polite, if angry, email. saying they simply need to processs the refund on their own, which hasn't been answered nearly a week...
I now find out from the comments here that the website's is in effect down for several days... No retail online business can afford to have that happen, esp. in a low-margin sector like groceries. I believe it's highly likely the business is bankrupt or no longer functioning. Anyone know how to check this? I'm not from the UK, and want to provide my CC company with as much detail as possible.
While I'm sure I'll eventually get a refund, it'll be a big hassle... I'm really sorry I didn't use PayPal.

Update on 9-May-15:
As I'm sure interested customers know, Ecogreenstore did indeed go bankrupt. I initiated a "did not receive goods" action at my CC provider, and while a couple of forms needed to filled out and various documents attached, the CC company refunded my money after about a week; I'm assuming all affected customers can do the same.

Seriously, avoid at all costs

After 6 weeks with no delivery and a month since they stopped even responding to my email update requests I have had to resort to lodging a dispute through Paypal to get my money back.
Like many others I would have to say that I find it incredible that this company manages to continue trading when they have such an appalling/non-existent customer service. I have bought several times before from Eco Green Store without any problems, but clearly I just got lucky on those occasions that they had my order in stock. It's one thing to be late with delivery but quite another to take people's money and totally ignore them when you request a refund for non-receipt of goods. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Very unreliable.

I've been using this company on and off for a couple of years. Recently, I have noticed standards slipping where I would not get my order until I emailed them a few times. I ordered again 3 weeks ago but this time they told me they could not fulfil the order and I would have to contact my credit card company for a refund. When I try to call them, they are not accepting calls.
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID

Absoloute SHAMBLES of a company

What ever you do, do not place any orders with this pathetic company. They will take you money and then send you nothing and you cant contact them as they do not respond to anything. They will then ask you to go back to your credit card company to get a refund.

THIEVES BEWARE!!

Eco Green Store clearly going under...

I've used EGS for 5 years with no problems, but I have also had the email after my latest order, like all the others, that says that they can't fulfill the order. It seems to me to be a repeat of the Christmas hamper scandal a few years back, when they knew they were insolvent but still took orders. Whatever you do, don't place any orders! However, the website is currently down for "maintenance"...

Scammed like all the rest

I've had exactly the same experience as the other reviewers - placed an order almost 3 weeks ago, paid via PayPal, then received the "we can't fulfill your order" email. I have opened a dispute in PayPal and hope they can refund my money, which is over £40. Clearly the company are insolvent and they should not be suggesting that people should place orders. I think I will contact Norwich trading standards, which is where the company seems to be based, to make a complaint too.
