The worst experience I’ve ever had

The worst experience I’ve ever had! On Saturday April 04 2026 courrier just steal my package and left the empty box on the bus stop. If only I could give zero stars! Don't deal with these scammers!

Ecom has excellent notifications

Ecom has excellent notifications, extremely timely deliveries and have very nice delivery personnel. Telephone customer service is wonderful. I had an issue and spoke to Yash who went far above and beyond to resolve the issue with immediacy and to my complete satisfaction. Yash is refreshingly polite, kind, listens intently and will strive earnestly to resolve any issue you may have. I find Ecom an excellent courier service and would recommend them for all your courier and/or delivery needs.

Theft could have been easily prevented

On the plus side, shipping from Ontario to Quebec was fast, a little over a day. Unfortunately, the deliveryman left the package in front of my neighbor's door instead of mine, leaving it plainly visible from the sidewalk less than 3 meters away. He didn't ring the doorbell or try to conceal it. As a consequence, the package, containing $140 worth of merchandise, was stolen from the landing, almost certainly by a passerby.

It was left at 8:24 PM and by the time I looked shortly after midnight, it was gone. I'd been home all evening and the theft could have been averted had the deliveryman simply bothered to knock or ring the doorbell to alert me that it was there. I have a hunch that shipping companies prioritize snapping CYA proof-of-delivery photos over making sure that a package actually gets into the hands of the recipient, and that that's the real reason the deliveryman chose to leave it in front of my neighbor's door instead of mine, since from there it was easier to get a clear photograph from the street.

I received no advance email notification that the delivery was taking place that day, and the tracking information on the website skipped from the "sort facility" in Ontario to "delivered", leaving out all intervening steps. So there was no way for me to have anticipated the delivery.

I'm not a happy camper. The simple act of ringing the doorbell or knocking on the door when leaving a package, something that would take less effort than snapping a photo, would probably reduce porch thefts like this one by 90%. So why do so few shipping companies do it?
