I usually handle pest control myself, but due to back surgery this year, I decided to try EcoShield Pest Solutions. The salesperson promised a trial of three visits at $165 each. After the first two v... See more

STAY AWAY from this company
STAY AWAY from this company. Dishonest, unprofessional and unethical business practices. We canceled the service because we are moving. The company made it the most unpleasant and difficult experience to cancel. We were inundated with emails making false claims. It's impossible to reach anyone at the local office. They're hiding behind a call center in Asia, which is completely useless. Overall, an expensive and disapointing epxerience.
Shield Yourself from Ecoshield
If you see an Ecoshield truck pull into your driveway run outside and tell them to get off your property. THE WORST service company I have ever dealt with. They use cheesy ambulance chasing sales tactics. They never completed the service and when I tried to get my money back the contract was in favor of Ecoshield. I'm not a typical writer of reviews, for Ecoshield I'll make an exception. RUN FROM ECOSHIELD!!!!

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received. The salesman who visited my home made numerous promises regarding the treatment of spider webs, backyard bugs, ticks, and pricing. However, when the service personnel came, I found that the information provided by the salesman was not accurate, and the promised services were not fully delivered.
After the service, I noticed that some spider webs were not removed, and there are still bugs and slugs in my backyard. Additionally, I was told by the salesman that a cancellation would incur a one-time service fee, but I was charged $250, which is more than a one-time service fee.
It seems there is a lack of communication between your sales and service teams. Based on this experience, I do not wish to continue any business with your company.
Eco Shield Pest Control is not a…
Eco Shield Pest Control is not a reputable service, They sell you services and indicate you need to sign up for a quarterly agreement then scam you by charging you for a yearly agreement and do not offer cancellations. Avoid this company at all costs. It will be a fight for a year of unauthorized invoices.
The reasons for cancelling are as…Everything involved in their service.
The reasons for cancelling are as follows:
1. No inspection of the inside of any of the buildings on my property to discover rodent activity, although all service people were told of regular trapping of mice in three buildings.
2. Although I was assured that any new infestations would be quickly taken care of by trained workers, when I called to report a hornet nest in the ground I was told to "wait until the next check-up time", 3 weeks in the future. When I demanded that the nest be taken care of immediately your Company sent out a tech who told me that he had never had any experience with dealing with hornet nests. I had to lead him through how to deal with it. He asked me for a shovel to dig it out! I explained that THAT would be a bad idea and cut back the shrub to expose the nest opening for him. I gave him some SEVIN that I had used before and he spread a powder that he had. He had no protective gear and although the hornets were disturbed neither of us got attacked.
The next day the hornets were still active, but why would I bother calling your company back?
3. A different tech came out to remove all of the wasp nests and said that he sprayed a substance that would keep the wasps away. I just counted 3 nests in the same places that nests were removed and the spray was applied.
4. When the area under the house was inspected the tech said that 2 traps had mice in them. When I asked if he was going to remove those traps and put in new ones he said he had none, and made no offer to get some and bring them back. He spent a full 5 minutes doing his inspection under the house.
5. The salesperson told me to contact him if I had any problems. When I did text him I got a text back from the local office saying that I needed any other services I needed to call 9712675989.
It seemed to be an answering service as they had to bounce back and forth with the local office about how soon they would come out. Remember the "We'll come take care of your ground hornet nest in three weeks" from above?
If your local office knew I had an issue, why couldn't they have just called me?
Now, all of your techs and the salesperson have been 5 star people and I can't fault them for not being provided with the training and equipment needed to do their jobs. But your service hasn't met my expectations and the promises made at the time I signed up. I have witnesses to those verbal promises of your sales person if you think that I am trying to weasel out of paying the 250$ cancellation fee. But a promise is a promise, and I think that it would be best if we just leave it at you get your 179$, and I deal with my pest problems on my own.

Don't use Eco Shiled they secrew you over not matter what all they care about is money what out what they sign. Its really hard to get rid off .they lie about the plan. And it expensive you have an appointment once a week if you signed up for a number of payments. I will never sign up for a service again. Please dont come back to my house
Run from this company
Run from this company. Doesn't fix issues. They refused to return when the issues were not addressed, instructing me to wait (well past their BS 3-day buyer's remorse period. After weeks, they offered to reschedule the next paid service to address the unresolved issue, which constitutes a breach of the contract. When you tell them you want to cancel the service, they threaten you with the hidden cancellation fee that the salesperson never mentioned.
There are better companies than EcoShield that actually value customers and follow through on their promises.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Mentor Ohio
Mr. Connor (NE Ohio) came to my home and was quite professional and no overselling. Very professional and polite.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service, they drive you nuts with "confirm confirm confirm" appointments by phone, email, and text. Then change the appt. on their own without notification. 0 respect for people's time, especially those paying their way. When you call in, you get the vicious overseas runaround from dept to dept getting nowhere, another hour wasted dealing with no one that can do anything other than transfer you to another dept that will do nothing. I researched (after the service unfortunately) ecoshield, they have multiple complaints and a class action lawsuit, and after 1 experience with them, I totally understand why that is.
Don't waste your money or your time with this company, unless you have more of both than you know what to do with it.
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. Scammers who will continue to charge you after services have been terminated.
Originally I signed a contract for pest control due to me living near a wooded area and hoping to keep the house clear of various pests. After several appointments I did not really notice a change and elected to terminate my contract.
Although I still had some service left on the contract, the support staff I worked with initially was able to terminate the contract after a final session which I approved. After that session, I made my final payment and received a confirmation my contract was terminated.
To my surprise I had a technician come out 3 months later and spray since I was not home. Then I got a friendly email for a $150 charge for a spray that I did not order, did not authorize, and did not have a contract for. I called the support team who reviewed my account, verified my contract was terminated, verified the service was not requested nor approved, and agreed that the charge was not valid. A supervisor was requested who approved the $150 credit to my credit card and assured me I would see the credit card within a week. A week later I did not see a credit on my statement so I was forced to call my credit card company who recommended I do a charge back which I completed.
I considered the case closed, especially since they agreed the charge was unauthorized and that they would return it, however to my surprise yet again I received an email that my account (which was supposed to be deleted) will incur a $150 balance due to the chargeback from my credit card.
I proceeded to talk to the support team again who informed me that a supervisor would need to remove the balance. However, a supervisor was not available so they would be unable to rectify the balance issue until Thursday (2 days later). I stated that it is not only shocking but unacceptable that not a single supervisor in the organization was in the office to assist with an escalation and pushed for a name and phone number for me to call the next day. I did ask for the employee's direct line, last name, or employee # to reference for my case and they stated it was against policy.
At the time of writing this review I am going to have to wait until tomorrow, but this has been a horrible experience all around. I can only imagine that this will not be rectified and I will continue to have to chase this issue over the coming months. In the meantime, I am opening a case with the BBB due to these malicious practices.
Although google ratings has a 4.8 (most likely bought reviews), look into other sites like Yelp or Trust Pilot and you will see ratings of 1.3 and 1.5.
Avoid at all costs.
Update from next morning: Still no resolution. I continue to get bounced around multiple departments without anyone transferring me to a supervisor to remove the false balance. I will most likely need to wait for the BBB to provide resolution on my behalf.
Update from the next afternoon: Spent several hours being bounced between multiple departments again where I had to repeat the issue multiple times. The representatives tried to blame me for not responding back to a text message that a tech was coming out (even though I was told I could ignore these after my contract was completed). I never was able to speak to a supervisor once from any department after multiple phone calls. However, Via (company response and email below) was able to rectify the issue over email after this review was posted. I appreciate her help with the resolution, but it was asinine it took a google review and an email for someone to assist me.
If you have issues with the company, don't bother calling as you will never be able to get ahold of a supervisor....just email them
They are horrible!!!
They are horrible!!!! Had their service for 3-4 months. Had them come out over and over and over... still as many bugs as we had when we first signed up. Called to cancel the service, and they charge at $250 early termination fee. I explained to them I had them come out and retreat and retreat and retreat and retreat and still never any improvement in pests. All they kept doing is referring back to their contract... would not truly listen to the fact that their service never worked... and the fact I gave them many chances. When they would come out to retreat, the technician never knew why they were there... although I spent time on the phone with someone to explain why I needed retreatment. I get there is a contract... but that is assuming the services actually work... and their service does not... Call me before you sign up 704-964-3072. I don't want anyone else to be part of this con job. They have no clue about customer experience or valuing customers. All they care about is sticking to the legal jargon in their contract for services that don't work.
This is a scam business to get your money
Bad products and worse service
They forged my name to the contract and…
They forged my name to the contract and refused to cancel until i proved to them i didn't sign the contract. I might have a good case against them if any good attorney out there, treatment is messy and not effective, lots or white grains thrown around the yard looks like regular ant bait, Worst customer service i have ever experienced, I felt like i was scam!!!!!!
When they approached they convinced Us…
When they approached they convinced Us & promised that all types of insects , ants , flying insects & roaches will be gone and We will be having an insect & roaches free home. Nothing happened as promised & the result was that all types of insects & roaches were there as seen before the treatment. I just accepted that I was duped & moved forward by being more careful in the future before paying someone for these services. Now when We told them that We don’t need their services anymore they have sent Us a cancellation charges bill ( that’s the first time I am seeing something like this)
Total scam artists
Total scam artists. There’s a $250 cancellation charge if you don’t pay a full year
Scammy door to door sales tactics
Scammy door to door sales tactics, convinced my gf who's scared of spiders to sign up, she didn't realize how much it was going to cost her as a recurring charge and also wasn't told it would cost $250 just to cancel. Beyond mad.
Wrong exterminators if you live in the woods
The tech didn't have the right address. He sprayed our neighbors house. Granted it was about 100 degrees and 5:30 pm and he was shot. He didn't tell us that he couldn't get into the back yard due to a fence. He didn't spray the screenhouse which is now full of spiders and webs. I thought I heard the salesman who calls himself "bug Dundee" cleaver, right? that they would spray for fleas and ticks. WELL, that's extra. When I called to change my appointment day which I'm not sure that is happening I get connected with someone in another country,, so for sure we didn't understand each other. How does one cancel this company I have done better doing exterminating myself.
Ecoshield is AWFUL!
Ecoshield is AWFUL!! We wanted the outside carpenter ants and the inside panty pests dealt with. After we signed turns out they can't - after two technicians came - do panty pests. And they sprayed outside - and not inside - for the ants and we have an unholy infestation of ants inside. Hundreds. So they didn't do the job and said they either refund the service visit or cancel the fee for coming back. Absolute shit company!!
If there was a zero rating
If there was a zero rating or a negative rating, that is what I would give EcoShield. I was one of those ones who got taken by this scam and I say this is a scam they come to your door they get you to sign the contract they promise to do things that they don’t fulfill like they came to my door. I said I have a rat in the attic and they said oh we can take care of that. They put two little glue trap paper pieces up in the attic Something I don’t even think the rats would fit in and then sent some guy to the house to give me an estimate on getting rid of the rat which was $6500. Well they didn’t tell me at the beginning there would be an additional charge of $6500 to do what they promised to do when they were standing on my porch, trying to sell me their product. I canceled my other subscription with my faithful pest control company because they were not getting rid of my problem to go with this person who said they would get rid of the problem they lied and now they want more money. I’m going to have to get my lawyer to talk with him about the whole promise thing and the fact that they did not give me what they promised. They said they would. I’m getting ready to sue them for stress And time loss from work trying to meet their demands.
