Es wird Sie nicht wundern: Der Name "edelrausch" entstand bei einer guten Flasche Wein. Die entsprechende Firma kam später, als die Gründer ihre erlernten Berufe an den Nagel hängten. Der Mediziner Dr. Uwe Seifert arbeitete als Anästhesist, bis er sein Hobby zum Beruf machte. Ehemalige Kollegen scherzen heute, er habe nur das Narkosemittel gewechselt. Die dänische Handelsreferentin Alice Karstensen wechselte vom dänischen Generalkonsulat in die Weinbranche. Seither kommen Weine aus aller Herren Länder direkt vom Winzer nach Dresden. Das Sortiment umfasst viele weitere Genussmittel und Accesoires, insgesamt mehr als 3.000 internationale Spezialitäten. Seit 1999 beliefert edelrausch renommierte Hotels und Restaurants. Für Privatkunden gibt es drei Filialen in Dresden und Leipzig sowie einen Onlineshop. Der Weinversand erfolgt bundesweit und in zahlreiche europäische Länder.
