Terrible sales behaviour
Terrible sales behaviour. Cold calling and turning up at my elderly Mums house. Convincing her to replace her inverters and taking payment on the door step. Then leaving behind no company details or any ability to trace the company, only for us to discover the identify of the company with the bank trancing the transaction.
Completely exploiting vulnerable elderly customers.

They approached my elderly neighbor and made it seem like they were connected to her original solar installer, which wasn't the case. They pushed unnecessary upgrades, including a battery and other equipment that would have cost around £4,000. Luckily she canceled.
Stay away from this company.
Stay away from this, company. Cold called, hard selling tactics . Lied about my system. They caught me on a bad day, otherwise I wouldn’t have fallen for it. However, the bank were great, constant calls, to the company, then within 5 days,
I got my money back, thank goodness.
Very worrying and I felt stupid and embarrassed, I fell for it.

Very professional from start to finish. They kept us informed with what they were doing.
Impressive company
Had a salesman, whose company is affiliated with Octopus to check on my solar panels and inverter. I mentioned that I was interested in a battery and he explained details, cost and installation. Been investigating about this for about 2 years. Price was reasonable and Pylon battery has good reviews.
The installation people came today, with battery. My current inverter could not have battery capacity. All installed in less than hour. They showed me the app and explained in detail what to look for. They were professional, friendly and informative.........impressive. I am very happy that I have at long last got my battery.
Be Wary of EdgeSolar
Based on their ‘phone call we booked an appointment. We then remembered that we had a Monitoring and maintenance agreement with DC Energy, who had located a failed accelerator a few years ago and then fitted this component when it arrived directly from SolarEdge
We then ‘‘phoned DC Energy who told us EdgeSolar was a Scam Organisation who were not authorised by SolarEdge or a warranty holder.
We have reported this and we understand that Trading Standards in Maidstone Kent will be investigating
Great company

I had ongoing inverter issues that no one could seem to fix. Edge solar came out, diagnosed the root cause within minutes, and replaced the part on the same day.

cold call scam .say they are doing soler system check on behalf of warranty. within 5 mins , said i need a voltage regulator. I added a extra 5.2 battery .They came to install without some parts ,re booked to install. cancelled three times. Then failed to show up. now sending late payment email but will not call back
SARGA STHILL ONGOING WASTE OF TIME
BEWARE this company
BEWARE this company. They tried to sell my elderly neighbour upgrades and repairs she didn't need, posing as her original installer (Solar Edge). Thankfully she was able to cancel the order within the 14 day period and did get her money back. We got a local reputable company over to check her system and they told us she didn't need the 'voltage regulator' upgrade and new battery they had tried to sell her (at a cost of £5,000). A lucky escape.
Definitely a sales pitch
Definitely a sales pitch!
I was cold called to tell me my Inverter warranty was due it's 12 year check and they were the "appointed" company.
The engineer turned up, spent a couple of minutes looking at the Inverter and then told me there was a fault and that I needed a Voltage Regulator fitting (now a legal requirement according to him) because the inverter was running at 245V and had peaked at 250V, so was shutting down into a safe mode.
However a new hybrid inverter (including the voltage regulator) and battery backup (in the roof space) would be better value at a mere £5200.
I would get 2 or 3 times the electricity production with the new inverter because it wouldn't keep switching into safe mode.
I pointed out that the solar system has produced a consistent amount of electricity throughout it's lifetime and that it had paid for itself in the time period I was originally given, so obviously was working as expected and production had not dropped off in recent years.
His response was that it must have been "throttling" from when it was installed - something I doubt as it was the manufacturer who came and installed and checked it. Also, if it had always been malfunctioning, then it would have taken two (or three) times as long to generate enough electricity to "pay for itself", which it plainly hadn't.
We have decided not to alter what is a good working system!
I had my doubts about solar panels
I had my doubts about solar panels, but Edge solar made the whole process easy.
I had a phone call from edge solar…
I had a phone call from edge solar saying the system needs checking because of the warranty, a guy came the next day and went up in my loft to check my inverter, he came down and said that my inverter was only working at 50%, he said one of the strings had broken, he then went into offering me a amazing deal on a hybrid inverter and a battery for£4000, I said I would give it a thought and conver with my wife, we decided not to go through with it, i found it strange so I asked for a second opinion and rang a local solar company who came out to look at my system and found it working perfectly, they told me that edge solar were dissolved in 2022 so they should not be working as a company. They also told me it's against the law to have a battery in the loft and £4000 is far too much for a hybrid inverter and a battery. Oh by the way I only have one string to my panels so where he got one of them was broken just showed he wanted to take advantage of a pensioner, it's disgraceful, the company needs reporting to the office of fair trading. I've been asked for more information regarding the visit from Edgesolar, I've always been sceptical about solar panels companies as I was mis sold them in the first place, when the chap turned up to check the inverter and told me it was running at 50% i was taken back,I felt it was a sales visit as he soon brought up about having a hybrid inverter and a battery, he quoted me just under £4000 and if I decided to go ahead I would have to pay £995 deposit, obviously I hadn't got a clue how much a hybrid inverter or a battery cost ,I have a invoice which he left me which i showed to the company I asked for a second opinion, they told me that I could get both the new inverter and battery for just over £2000,
I felt pressurised by the edge solar chap as he said the offer wouldn't be available for long.i stand bye my review as I found it a distressing time
Cold call scam?
I received a call from edge solar offering to check the performance of my Solar Edge inverter. The caller claimed they were the maintenance arm of Solar Edge.
I therefore, reluctantly, agreed and an appointment was made. I was however uneasy, especially as I discovered later the call was from a telephone number not listed on their website (it was a number from a location over 80 miles from their base) Obviously using "spoofing",
I subsequently requested that the appointment be cancelled - I have not, so far, received an acknowledgement.
I then did what I should have done earlier & checked for reviews, which vary considerably. Some are "glowing" so, if these are genuine, they must do something right but others are scathing with experiences similar to mine or even worse.
If the engineer/salesman does turn up I will not allow him to enter the property & will certainly not agree to any un-necessary work.
Brian Broughton
I would like to add a couple of further comments. Edge Solar did accede to my request to cancel the appointment so, thank you.
I am, however, concerned that they & everyone else in the "solar world" manages to contact me by telephone despite my number being registered with the Telephone Preference Service which I thought protected me from such calls!
