Great and quick service, helpful staff, highly recommended!

I couldn't steer my bike to either sides, and brought to Elcykelsalg for repair. The head tube on my bike had to be changed completely inside as it was totally corroded and that's why it didn't turn. It was fixed within just 2 days. They also changed the handlebars because they were too old an used. And it is not the first time I took my bike to repair here, I also got my basket mounted on the bike here a few years ago. And it is still in perfect condition. The staff is very nice, I was also asking about recommendations about buying a new bike, and he was very helpful and explained his answers. Quick and professional service, good prices. I can highly recommend if you need to repair anything on your bike!

Flawless assembly with attention to detail and accommodating to special requests without an extra charge

I picked up a new bicycle here which was perfectly assembled, with lubricated components and absolutely no marks or signs of the assembly process. It was ready just a few hours after placing my order. The guy who I picked the bicycle up from was kind and accommodated my request for the right seat colour, which was different from the one in the photo online. He also had all manuals and warranty documents ready for me in an envelope. Overall I’m very satisfied and will return again.

Poor customer service

I have bought a bike there previously for my partner.
I've bought bike parts, eg brake cables, inner tubes.
I went by yesterday to ask if I could borrow a tool to tighten my brake cable, as it had lost tension in the rain.
A 30 second loan
I was refused and told to go across the road.

It's these little "customer service" things that count to me.

I will never purchase another item from that store, and will inform everyone I know to do likewise.
The shop will take my money, but not loan a tool for 30 seconds.

Dear Karel. It is true that we do not borrow tools and there are many reasons for this. People don't return tools back and when they've been allowed to borrow a tool, they need a second and third one. Imagine being disturbed at your workplace every half hour when someone asks you to borrow a tool. There is a very clear sign by the door in Danish and English that we do not borrow. Good

Good service, kind attention to client and good advice without being overwhelming.
I have bought here a couple of bikes over the years, they have reasonable prices. Bike service is good as well, they give you a call to confirm in case something comes up during the service that costs extra.
I will come back.

Stay clear!!!

Does NOT honor 2 year EU warranty.
Does NOT take responsibility for broken bike.

Blames customer for ISSUES!

Beware and stay clear.

This weekend, my daughter’s front wheel fell off her bike causing a bad accident and we had to take her to the hospital. When the wheel fell off, the whole connector unit to the hub dynamo fell off the front axle revealing that the lock bolt between the hub and the unit was broken but super glued in place (Who super glues a lock nut on a bike?!).

Today, Monday, 30 November, 2020, I called Shimano explaining the situation and asked what I should do and they said to take the bike to the shop where I bought the bike. I bought it from Cykelbasen in Valby (Vigerslev Alle 58) on 14 November 2019.

I called the shop at about 10:00 and told them what had happened. I told the man on the phone that I had already spoken to Shimano and that they would be happy to replace the hub dynamo (no problems). He said he couldn’t do anything until he looked at the bike. Before hanging up, I asked him if it was okay to remove the front wheel so that I could transport the bike and he said it was fine.

At about 11:00, I had him look at the bike and when he saw the broken lock nut, he got very hostile, blaming me for what had happened and refusing to repair the bike. I got angry and confused explaining to him that both Shimano was happy to fix it and that that this repair still falls under the 2 year EU warranty. At that point, he pushed the bike toward the door and told me to get out. I collected the parts, took the bike and left.

On closer inspection, it is very clear that the lock nut was broken from the beginning and that it was glued in place. We were very fortunate that my daughter wasn’t badly hurt when the wheel fell off.

Tak for din anmeldelse. Da du kom med cyklen kunne vi se at der ikke var tale om en reklamation men manglende service som du ikke har overholdt, 2 gange siden cyklen er købt helt ny. Vi har mistanke om at hjulet blevet løs enten på grund af manglende service eller at der er nogen der har prøvet at stjæle forhjulet. Vi ville gerne have hjulpet dig alligevel med at lave den uden beregning, og prøvede kun på at give dig en forklaring på hvad der kunne være sket. Men du blev ved med at hæve din stemme i butikken flere gange og virke truende, og vi bad dig derfor om at gå.
Hjul løsner sig ikke så meget at de falder af uden grund, slet ikke hvis man overholder service og tjekker de de bevægelige dele, som med tiden kan løsne sig lidt som følge af at blive brugt.

Trick you into paying more.

I brought my bike because of a flat tyre there. I don't know much about bikes. So I asked him what the problem is and how much the fixing costs. He told me that he does not know but it depends if he can just fix the tube or has to replace the tube. I trusted him because of my lack of knowledge.
I payed (89 Kroner), picked up my bike and drove home (500m).
The next day, my tyre was flat again.
Went back to the store and asked why it is flat again. Then they told me that it is probably because my tyre is in bad condition. They had my phone number. Why not calling me before and tell me that a fixing of the tube does not make sense? So they repaired my whole tyre and tube and let me pay the full charge again (329 Kroner), even though they knew before what the problem is. I asked if I can only pay the difference (329-89Kroner), but they did not agree. Both employees didn't seem to understand the problem. They stated that it was my fault to use the bike again with the bad tyre.

I think this is really bad customer service. Not gonna use this shop again.

Vi er kede af hvis der har været en misforståelse. Da du indleverede cyklen første gang fortalte jeg dig at dit dæk var slidt og skulle skiftes og at det ville koste kr 329,-, for vores billigste dæk. Du sagde at det var hvad du havde givet for cyklen og du derfor kun ønskede at enten lappe den eller som maksimum at skifte slangen. Det var selvfølgelig uheldigt at du punkterede så kort tid efter, men dit dæk var meget slidt, og der er mange glasskår på vejene her efter nytår. Da du indleverede cyklen anden gang aftalte vi at hvis det var vores lapning der ikke holdt, ville vi trække kr 89,- fra, men der var tale om et nyt hul et nyt sted.
