Elephant Journal charged me without consent and refused resolution.

I subscribed to a promotional digital subscription from Elephant Journal advertised at $10 per year.
Almost a year later, without my knowledge, the company charged $108 through an automatic PayPal renewal. I never received any clear notification about a price increase or a renewal at such a significantly higher amount.
When I contacted their customer support, I asked for documentary proof that I had been informed about the price change or the automatic renewal conditions. The response I received was that their system only retains email records for 90 days, and therefore they were unable to provide any proof that I had been notified.
Despite this lack of evidence, they refused to issue a refund.
I also opened a dispute with PayPal, which unfortunately rejected the claim while still not providing any documentation showing that the notification had actually been sent.
After researching online, I discovered that other users report very similar experiences involving automatic renewals at much higher prices.
Transparency and proper customer notification are essential for subscription services. In this case, I experienced the opposite: a large automatic charge without clear prior notice and no proof when requested. I will use my network to share my experience and help other users avoid trusting this magazine.

Greedy

Love the content but the management took from my bank $275 and wouldn't return it because they said they could change the cost of their subscription at any time. I paid $20 for the annual subscription when I started it the year before, they increased the price by $255 the next year!! Don't trust them!!
