I came to this office highly recommended by a good family friend. I'm am so glad I chose Dr. Chau and Encino Orthodontics. I actually went to many consultations, but this place just felt right. I had clear aligners and the whole experience has been easy and each appointment so fast and easy. I am finishing up faster than expected. Good thing since I am about to finish school.

I strongly advise parents to seek a second opinion before committing to treatment at this practice. Our experience with Dr. Chau has been deeply concerning, both from a clinical and professional standpoint.
Initially, we were told our daughter required a 12–18 month orthodontic plan. However, once we informed the office that we were relocating to Spain, the doctor’s recommendation shifted drastically. He suddenly claimed he could "speed up" the entire process to finish in just one month—effectively compressing a year-long biological move into less than four months.
After consulting with several other dental specialists, we were warned that such an accelerated timeline was not only medically unsound but potentially dangerous for the child’s dental health. This shift in treatment appeared to be motivated by a desire to collect the full $4,000 fee before our departure rather than the best interests of the patient.

• Billing Disputes: Despite the truncated and questionable treatment period, the office is aggressively pursuing the full balance for a 12–18 month plan that was never completed.
• Professionalism: The office environment is unprofessional; the doctor frequently has his toddler running through the clinical areas during appointments, which is distracting and inappropriate for a medical setting.
We have gathered expert testimonies from other orthodontists and are currently petitioning the Dental Board to reopen our case with this new evidence. Please do your due diligence and find a practitioner who prioritizes patient safety over financial gain.
