Constantly over charging via over…

Constantly over charging via over estimated bills-trying to get them to send a new bill is hard work and it appears some of their staff have problems understanding the issues. My latest reply to the company has gone to unhappy@e-on next.

E.ON NeE.ON invents fictional debts and shifts meter readings into periods when you are not their customerxt issued me a final bill of…

E.ON Next issued me a final bill of approximately £5,000 for ‘meter tampering’ during a period when I wasn’t even their customer. My contract started in April 2021, yet E.ON added readings and consumption from 2020 — a full year before they began supplying energy to my property. It is essential for all customers to check their contracts carefully, because E.ON shifts meter readings into periods where you have no contractual relationship with them.

E.ON refused to provide any technical evidence: no inspection report, no photographs, no official meter readings, and no Xoserve documentation. Everything is based solely on unproven claims.

It is clear that E.ON is trying to make profit by inventing fictional debts and pushing customers into absurd, unjustifiable situations.

The Ombudsman accepted E.ON’s version without proper verification, ignoring the actual contract dates and the complete lack of evidence. I am now forced to pursue legal action and credit monitoring, because a company that invents debts can damage anyone’s credit score

Avoid Eon energy like the plague

Do not use Eon energy. I moved house and they took down the wrong initial meter reading and tried charging over £500 extra. They rejected my dispute even after I provided dated, photographic evidence of the meter reading and they have a recorded telephone call of me providing the correct meter reading at the time of moving date, so irrefutable evidence. Complete criminals and dreadful short sighted business decision by them, as I've immediately moved to a new supplier (after several years with Eon previously). I will also be taking it to the energy ombudsman which undoubtedly I will win. Also, their customer servive staff are completely clueless. Avoid like the plague.

Five years later .....

So a couple of weeks ago I found a default from EON regarding a gas bill from when I moved house 5 years ago. Well the thing is I sent my final readings for gas and electricity both provided by them and recieved a cheque as I'd paid too much for electricity. Well now it turns out I owed some money for the gas not got a problem paying should've been told when I informed them I was closing account even though they've still not said what energy I owe, the bill is made up from late payment are you bloody kidding and have defaulted me for not making an arrangement to pay after five years. All you folks out there saying there slow at sorting problems well let me tell you I sent them an email on the 21/11/21 and still no reply from EON now that really is slow. Now to fight this default they've always known where I live thats where they sent my overpayment cheque bloody jokers.

Avoid E.ON Next Business if you value…

Avoid E.ON Next Business if you value honesty and transparency.

My experience with E.ON Next Business has been incredibly disappointing and has had a significant financial impact on my small business.

During the sales call, I was given the impression that I would be paying much less than I was before. Based on those assurances, I agreed to a two-year contract. It wasn’t until later that I realised I had actually been placed on an extremely expensive tariff that has cost my business far more than expected.

What makes this even more concerning is that, after listening to the sales call, an E.ON employee agreed that there were issues with what had been said and even raised a complaint on my behalf. Despite this, E.ON still insisted they could do nothing because I had accepted the contract, effectively leaving me trapped in an expensive two-year agreement.

Throughout the complaints process, I was repeatedly told there was nothing they could do. However, as soon as I escalated the matter to the Energy Ombudsman, their position suddenly changed. Almost immediately they offered me around £600, saying it represented the difference between what I had paid and what I would have paid on another tariff. That alone speaks volumes. If nothing had been wrong, why was compensation offered only after the Ombudsman became involved?

To make matters worse, E.ON also agreed they would send me a written letter of apology. That apology never arrived.

As a small business owner, every pound matters. Instead of supporting businesses, I feel I was misled into an expensive contract and then forced to fight for months just to receive partial compensation.

My confidence in E.ON Next Business has been completely lost. I would strongly encourage other business owners to read every detail, question every promise made over the phone, and think very carefully before entering into a contract with them.

I'm disappointed with this company

I'm disappointed with this company. I went over to their NextDriveFixed drive tariff end of 2025 and now they don't give you meter readings with the monthly bill. Not only that, the smart IHD meter doesn't give accurate usage readings. Can't calculate peak and off peak usages. So much for technology!! Won't be staying with EON come renewal!!

I have spent 3 weeks of June 2026 on…

I have spent 3 weeks of June 2026 on annual leave. Eon managed to send me two bills in the same month. First was the correct one, and the second was for one day period of 14-15th June for £79.26. So. Having used 24kW of electricity and little bit of gas in Eon greedy supplies costs £79.26.

If there is nothing used, please do not worry. They will end up making false statements left and right. And charge you twice for the same period!!

Unfortunately we live in time when state does not care about this kind of practices lying and exploiting people.

Will be switching provider ASAP at the beginning of next year.

BOYCOTT THIS SERVICE

Very disappointed to learn that they provide services to MBR Acres, a puppy farm for inhumane testing approved by the government. Absolutely shocked and horrified that this is happening in 2026, in the UK.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THERE SERVICES!!!

Eon’s service was a complete disappointment

Eon’s service was a complete disappointment. For a whole year, it took a toll on my mental well-being. They never provided any support; instead of solving issues, they kept misdirecting me. Even when a technician came to install a meter, he didn’t understand why they were saying the meter had an issue , and we were left in the dark many times. We spent hours trying to fix a simple issue, but their customer service never satisfied us. Once we switched to another company, all the problems were resolved within a few weeks

If I could give minuses I would.

If I could give minuses I would.

I’ve never dealt with a more inept company in my life. Worst customer service ever!

Moved in to my house 12 months ago. First bill came, it had us down as a business. My wife contacted them and told them it wasn’t correct. 3 months later we had an engineer out. He could quite clearly see it was a house and said he’d report back.

23 months later they’ve finally accepted it but now I’ve overpaid for 12 months let alone the stress of dealing with them and the letters chasing payments on a commercial tariff.

Horrific, do not use at all costs!

Really shocking level of customer…

Really shocking level of customer service. Firstly, twenty minute wait for your call to be answered. Secondly, incorrect and inaccurate information being given. First advisor said tariff had been set & DD established, clearly not as no payment taken. Told to set a tariff on the App. The App stating Im not a customer and to contact customer services. Customer services telling me use the App. When you eventually get through to CS the noise in the background is so loud I can hear more about someone else's account than mine. Correspondences received from E.On doesn't match whats happening on the account. E.On your supposed to be a highly efficient energy's provider, get your act together!

Very easy to switch properties

Very easy to switch properties, the sales/support rep who contacted me about tariff renewal a week prior to the move rang again as the price cap was going up at midnight on the same day, which prompted me to renew that evening. Saved us a fortune. EON still came out miles cheaper than other providers who wouldn’t provide good fixed tariffs. The rep was also very polite and knowledgeable, normally I’d hang up the phone!

E.ON Made Me Move!

I genuinely wish I could have given 0 stars. Based on my experience, E.ON has been the worst energy supplier I've dealt with.

They unexpectedly closed the account we originally set up without notifying us. They then opened a completely new account under a different name, but we were never given any login details or even told it existed. Charges continued to be added to this new account without our knowledge, so the balance grew while we believed everything was being paid correctly.

When we contacted E.ON, they admitted this was their mistake. Unfortunately, despite acknowledging the error, we were still expected to pay the additional balance that resulted from it. We repeatedly contacted them to resolve the issue, but felt we were being passed from one person to another without a fair resolution.

The financial impact became so severe that we eventually had to move because we could no longer afford the rent. That is the lasting consequence of how this situation was handled.

I have since switched to Octopus Energy and my experience has been completely different. Based on what happened to us, I would never choose E.ON again, and I would encourage anyone considering them to carefully research other suppliers first.

DO NOT USE

I bought a house that was already supplied by E.ON, and from the very beginning my experience has been nothing but frustrating.

My first bill was incorrect, and I was overcharged. Shortly afterwards, I received a bill stating that my balance was £0.00, so naturally I believed the matter had been resolved.

After sending me a bill showing I owed nothing, they then sent another bill demanding £40, with only 7 days to pay. Less than 24 hours later, I received a payment reminder insisting that I pay immediately, despite barely having any time to respond to the original invoice.

The most concerning part was my interaction with customer services regarding GDPR. I deliberately chose not to provide my personal details because I was concerned they would use them to create an account in my name that I had already made clear I did not want. Instead, I provided the account number, full property address and reference number, which should have been sufficient to identify the issue I was emailing about.

Despite this, they insisted they needed my personal details for GDPR purposes before they could discuss the account. I knew this wasn’t the case, so I gave them fake personal details, they accepted them without question and continued discussing the account. This not only undermined their claim that these checks were necessary for data protection, but also proved my original concern justified as I then got emails saying they had gone ahead and created an account in my name despite me telling them not to.

Having told E.ON on several occasions that I did not want an account with them and asking them to remove my details from their systems, they ignored my request and set up an account anyway. I’ve also repeatedly asked E.ON to remove my personal details and stop contacting me, but they continue to do so anyways. Claimed they needed my details for GDPR, yet they’re now going against GDPR by keeping my details of file when they’ve no right to do so and keep contacting me despite being told not to.

Overall, this has been an incredibly disorganised and frustrating experience, with incorrect billing, contradictory invoices, aggressive payment demands, disregard for my repeated requests, and a customer service process that left me with serious concerns about how my personal information is handled. Customer service team are rude and dismissive, and based on my experience, I cannot recommend E.ON and very grateful I’ve chosen a different energy provider.

We have had a text threatening legal…

We have had a text threatening legal action for allegedly owning money which we strongly deny. We have a dispute for over four years with your company after you inherited years of billing errors from our previous provider Npower. This was caused by corrupt data migration from Npower who used to send six bills a day for different amounts details of which we have sent your company over the last four years . They sent eight bills over a monthly period which was two years of bills .This has been included in the amount you say was transferred over from Npower so your figures are clearly wrong. There has been two responses from your company when we have contacted you about this. One has been we are saying the same thing over and over the second when we challenged this had been we cannot find the information you sent!!!! We are confused here two different responses you have both seen and not seen the information!!!! You have ignored Ofgem guidance on the breathing space guidelines after a bereavement our family suffered when despite being advised of the situation your company issued a default notice. This caused anxiety and distress you offered an apology after we contacted you but why was the notice issued when you knew of our situation . Finally you have falsely accused us of missing payments we have written to you contesting this . We have provided evidence to you over the past four years that we do not owe this money due to the corrupt data from Npower who used. This issue over four years has caused distress anxiety and a deterioration of my physical health. I am now escalating this issue to your CEO and will want formal proposals for compensation. Thank you David McLoughlin
