Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 273 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently report issues with product quality and functionality, including printers jamming, printing gibberish, or failing shortly after purchase. Many also express dissatisfaction with the high price of ink cartridges, which are often required even for basic functions, leading to frustration and perceived exploitation. The customer service is widely criticized for being unhelpful, difficult to access, and lacking knowledge about their own products. Some people were dissatisfied with the overall service, citing experiences of being transferred to unhelpful agents or facing difficulties with warranty claims and product replacements. Conversely, a few other people also felt that some products, like certain printers, performed well for specific tasks such as scanning A3 documents or producing high-quality photos.

Epson model printer XP-4015 worked fine…

Epson model printer XP-4015 worked fine up to a software update on 2-5-26. Once the update was installed the printer indicated that somehow all of the ink cartridges were suddenly empty. That was not true. I have been using the same cartridges for years. After multiple calls and emails, they stated that I can only use Epson cartridges. The customer service woman probably quit after I got done with her and I will NOT succumb to their directive. No more Epson products for me.

EPSON ET 2810 IS GARBAGE

**UPDATE THEY TRIED TO REMOVE MY REVIEW, BUT I'M BACK**The Epson ET 2810 worst piece of technology ever conceived. Feels like it was created by the devil himself. Setting it up is a ball ache, refilling the ink is a ball ache but all of that is a walk in a park compared to when you just need to use it. You try to print, you come across an issue and it gives you advice on how to troubleshoot it, that advice never works, you end up having to troubleshoot that problem, eventually ending up in a never ending loop of troubleshooting. Its woke WiFi connectivity is more of a hindrance than some sort of revolutionary technology. Old school plug and print printers were so much better. This piece of garbage has actually made me think we’ve gone too far with technology and that it’s actually more work using these newer printers than the older models they have replaced. Garbage don’t get one

These printers are garbage

These printers are garbage. They disconnect from the wifi AT LEAST twice a month and never connect back. I shouldn’t have to go through over 2 hours of trouble shooting for it to never work. I only needed one paper printed.

This is the worst printer I have ever had. Ink runs out quick, the printer doesn't always print when I need it to. They force you to buy all the ink even if you just use black, then when you replace the color all of a sudden the black is empty. Epson values profit over quality, stay away. (Epson WF 2960)

Customer service in Canada was very good after some long discussion about the problem of my printer being obsolete and non-repairable with a code that made it completely inoperable.

I was quite disappointed in Epson at first due the fact that my EcoTank 2550 printer completely stopped working with a 'Service Required' code requiring ink pads to be replaced. I learned that this part was no longer available and that even upon cleaning the ink pads myself I could not bypass this error code to even limp the printer through a little longer while I attempted to repair it. Epson told me that their printers can only be serviced by licensed dealers and that this printer was now actually obsolete. What a Waste and an infringement on a consumer to not be be able to fix something they own!! And Espson like to be promote their environmentally friendly approach! Anyhow after some time with a Canadian Customer service agent, we reached a compromise that I would try a refurbished (which I applaud the sustainability) new model in exchange (plus a reasonable fee) for the recycling of my old model. The speed of the response of the Customer Service agent and the delivery of the replacement printer was very good and much appreciated. For Epson to keep consumer confidence it needs to actively allow for the Right to Repair and keep its products out of landfills. Thank you

One of the worst products ever made since manufacturing was born. EPSON is the worst disastrously hopelessly and unrepairably shit companies ever made. AVOID AVOID AVOID their product like the plague. Like COVID-19, like the swine flu. You would rather gert these viruses than have to deal with EPSON products. So horrendously bad it should be a crime.

Warranty and Epson refurbished units

I purchased a new Epson ET-4850 printer from Staples on Dec 3 2024. The Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) was defective from the start, and Epson instructed me to contact them directly for a warranty replacement. Epson replaced the printer three times (Jan 8, Jun 10, Jul 8) with refurbished units due to recurring hardware failures. Each time was a different issue (Wi-Fi failure, ADF failure, connection failure). After repeated failures, I escalated the case to Epson Customer Relations. Epson approved a brand-new ET-4850 replacement on November 29. However, I was told there is no stock anywhere in their system and no estimate of when (or if) new stock will arrive. I was asked to call again the second week of December to check on stock. I called Dec 10 and was told that there is no stock, and after a 1 hour long telephone call Customer Relations confirmed that the only alternative they can offer is a refurbished unit, which I have refused because multiple refurbished units have already failed. The ET-4850 appears to be discontinued. I rely on a printer for work and was left without functioning equipment despite being fully within my warranty period and following all Epson procedures carefully. They would only offer yet another refurbished unit with "a 3 month extension of the warranty". Needless to say I do not want yet another defective refurbished unit. If your unit is defective from the start deal with the store where you purchased it rather than Epson. Their refurbished units are obviously not quality controlled. The warranty communication is lengthy and time wasting. My defective unit will now be going to recycling as I refuse to waste my time on another refurbished unit. It has been replaced with a Brother printer, which is a pleasure to use.

Terrible

Terrible. I bought an expensive model printer and haven't had one good experience since. Wifi is constantly down, and the printer refuses to connect to any devices despite the fact that they are both connected to the same Wifi network. I recommend never buying products from this company, as I know I certainly will not be.

Epson is scaming customers with their ink cartridges to get more profit.
Bought multiple ink cartridges that are exactly the same cartridges that won't work. Your get one that works here and there but it's a crap shoot. Already invested in the printer so what am I supposed to do? And they know and count on this. I'm cutting my losses with Epson. And buying another brand.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!! I purchased a brand new Epson Workforce 7310 Pro printer from Epson and I've had it a little over a year, it is still under warranty. I have not been able to use this printer for the past 5 months of that time because every time I call technical support, I'm taken through the same B***s**t troubleshooting facade for and issue where the printer is not recognizing the Epson ink. Finally now I was told that the ink I have were cartridges meant to initialize the printer. So the suggestion in to spend $70.00 on four standard cartridges that if that don't work will be replaced by the company; HuH !!!!!!! That doesn't make dog sense. THEY WILL BE NEW CARTRIDGES.I am truly pissed, but my reason for this post is to warn buyers to do your due diligence before you give these greed blood sucking technology companies or any other consumer base business, one red cent of your hard earned money.

Service is not good

Service is not good. Once you buy, you are on your own. No service staff will come to fix. I have been trying for an appointment since the past 1 month but no one responds.today, one Hyderabad official dealer said "take the printers to CTC, they will fix. No home service". Very disappointed.

The company wanted to charge me to update my computer! something I can do myself

The company wanted to charge me a service to update my computer to allow the printer to successfully connect with with my computer. Outrageous, taking money from uneducated technological participants. I declined their service to charge me to update my computer, one click. I discontinued their service and updated my computer myself, to allow the printer to connect. for those that choose to pay for that service I am sorry, they shouldn't insist on charging.

My printer said to replace the ink pad

My printer said to replace the ink pad. So I ordered a 2pk and waited till they came in the mail. Replaced the ink pad and it's still saying to replace my ink pad and it can't print till it's replaced. I went to online chat and they acted like they were gonna help me and transfer mw to a technician. No, they want us to pay for them to help us fix thier product. Even though we already did what the printer said. Like they dont charge enough already for their printers. Their customer service should be free and better. This is my 2nd epson printer. This model is the ET-4800. I clicked espon service required link, added my email for the free 1 time fix and sent me to an error page. Like wtf is wrong with this company. You dont care about your customers. Some of us use YOUR product for our businesses.

Just not worth it

Just not worth it. I have an ET 2800 color printer from Staples. It's not even two years old. It stopped working. It told me to fill the ink when it wasn't empty-not even half way- but I did. Then clean the pads. I did. Then Staples popped out the cables accidently when I took it there. FYI- They don't fix Epson and can't help you with it. He told me to just buy another printer! There is no customer service number. You can email and they email you back an article (basically what you can google on line). It now prints but no matter what I do or how many times I run the cleaning, it won't actually print. The screws to get inside it are in really difficult paces as well. You need special really long tweezers to put the cables back in- and even then it's hard. It is such a poor design. You end up spending money one thing at a time to try and fix it and then it doesn't work and no one can help you-not even EPSON. Never again! Back to my non color lazer printer.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Since I bought my printer Epson ET-8500 I have not been able to use it, I loaded the printer with the EPSON ink it came with. I followed all the directions it tells you to do from PRINT HEAD CLEAN, ALIGNMENT, AND CLEAN OUT and just kept getting ERROR CODE 000031, 000032, 034004. So I sent in a ticket and they told me to do the same thing I have been doing and that still didn't work. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY PROVIDE IS A JOKE. I even escalated the issue to Corporate and they were also a joke. I have 2 other EPSON printers and never had any issues with it but the one printer I buy and has so much issues they can't send me a replacement because they assume I modified the printer. Even though I sent in proof that it was never modified. Epson is a great product but the people who work for them need to be replaced, they lie and assume. When you catch them in their lie they just keep repeating themselves on what was told to them. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY ANOTHER EPSON PRINTER IF THIS IS HOW THEY PROVDIE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I would like to rate them a "0" but that's another cost.

Ordered a new printer an L3270.

Ordered a new printer an L3270.
All went well until I tried to connect it to wifi. It rejected the password on the printer.
I spent 2 hours on the phone to someone who’s English isn’t a first language.
The only thing I can say is that if you don’t want to spend hours trying to get this to work and if you are an Apple user.. just don’t bother it’s not worth the time, stress an hassle.
