I have been going through some challenges recently, I was so overwhelmed and didn't know where to seek advice. I was advised by Debbie J, the minute I called EASS, I was in the call queue for less than a minute a beautiful angelic voice answered my call. I suddenly knew I was in good hands. I have Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, Dyspraxia Dyscalculia and Irlen Syndrome. I also suffer from Anxiety and other mental health challenges. I first of all declared my neurodivergent conditions and Debbie J was so empathic with my hidden disabilities.
She was so attentive, clear and concise in the advice given. Anything I didn't understand or couldn't process, she will explain in a different manner.
Debbie J's Dyslexia friendly approach was exceptional and fantastic service. I was so happy for once, someone had taken time to explain complex situation and I walked away feeling so happy and complete.
Debbie J no words in the English dictionary can express my sincere gratitude. Thank you a million times. I am so grateful.
Keep up the excellent work you are doing, you've changed my life for the better through the advise I was given.
Once again thank you so much.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank Citizens Advise for the referral for EASS, it was their referral that lead me to speak to Debbie J.
Thank you to such awesome organisations both CAB and EASS are incredible organisations helping people like me, who would not have had any idea of how to navigate my complex issues.
Keep up the excellent work both EASS and Citizens Advice.
Thank you a million times 🙏🏾

I spoke with Jayne who was both helpful and informative. Would recommend if anyone is overwhelmed and struggling to make sense of their rights.

I phoned at 10:20Am on Saturday 25th October 2025, and after an excessively long recorded voice message saying what they can/can't do, another voice came on saying to stay on the line at the end and I can complete their survey to better the service next time.
THEN, a third voice saying "sorry there's no one available to help you right now, good bye". and then the call just disconnected.
What kind of telephone service doesnt have a call queuing system, during the opening hours? I expected to be added to a queue, and wait for someone to be available? ...failing that, I was waiting or the survey. So yeah, pet hate of mine is to be exposed to a long recording, and then just hung up on.

Whitney was fab - I feel a bit more in control now and less a victim of gaslighting. Clear next steps and timescales given.

Excellent service, Ellie and Rory were very helpful in sign posting information. Frustrating I could not get specific answers but they were clear they always remain impartial, which indeed they were.

During the summer of 2025 there was a shocking approach to a group of friends in my local library. People with disabilities were being excluded from a community event. I wrote to the EASS and received appropriate advice.
The only difficulty is, emails and messages via the online form seem to miss out some of your text, and may need to be clarified.

Got in touch in relation to a very strange catch-22 based on conflict between our Assured Shorthold Tenancy and another legal contract. I ended up having Rory over the phone who was tremendously helpful; we went over every angle possible of the issue, Rory broke down the sections of the Equality Act that might apply, and while it seems that my issue is not covered, the service I've been provided is beyond excellent. I will have to seek further legal advice elsewhere, but thanks to Rory I can say I feel well-armed and well-versed on how to approach the issue, and where it does not apply. It's rare that I can say a service leaves me well-informed nowadays. EASS was a random signpost by Shelter, and I cannot emphasize how useful contacting them was.

Spoke with Rory today and they were great. It helped me put my doubts aside and realise that I am right and have been treated unfairly.

Excellent dialogue. Provided me with the next step forward as I felt I was going round in circles trying to figure out my next step by myself.

The EASS may give you some time and advice if you are of different race. Apart from that, please don't expect anything more from them.

I called EASS, and they answered very promptly. I spoke to a lady called Claire, who was extremely knowledgeable and expertly guided me through the issues surrounding my query, clearly explaining my options in the context of the law.
She pointed me to template letters and definitions on the EASS website, which appears at first sight to provide a very comprehensive and useful set of resources.

I recently contacted EASS and had the privilege of speaking with Rory. From the very first moment, his professionalism, empathy, and depth of knowledge were extraordinary. He listened with genuine care, asked the right questions, and then explained an incredibly complex situation back to me with such clarity that everything finally made sense.
What stood out most was not just his expertise, but the way he delivered it — calm, reassuring, and absolutely focused on helping me feel supported and empowered. I left the call with a clear path forward and, more importantly, with my confidence restored.
In my experience, it’s rare to come across someone who can combine compassion, technical knowledge, and communication skills so seamlessly. Rory did all of this and more. He represents EASS at the highest possible standard and should be recognised as a model of the service at its very best.
Quite simply: Rory turned what felt like an overwhelming situation into one I could face with confidence. That kind of impact deserves recognition at the highest level.
