Competitive price compared to booking a multi-day trip, and offers more flexibility.
However they later leaked my personal data (including passport number and physical address) which may now be available for purchase on the dark web.
Communication about this is very poor.
Overall, strongly avoid.
Pretty bad considering so much PII was breached not even 3 months after using this.
Definitely saved a large amount of money with my 2 month pass. Trains were all pretty much on time. The train from Switzerland to Germany overheated but an alternative was there within half an hour which I thought was impressive. Only issue was reserving a seat on the app could be very frustrating and a few times I gave up and booked at the station. Overall a no brainer for me.

We found using Eurail across Spain and the UK incredibly frustrating—and honestly, not something we would recommend given the cost.
What should have been one of the highlights of our trip quickly became stressful. Booking trains was unnecessarily difficult, and the app lacked clear, step-by-step guidance to actually confirm seat reservations. There’s a lot of advice floating around suggesting you can “just turn up,” but that approach caused more problems than it solved—especially when services were delayed or cancelled. Our advice: don’t rely on that. It’s risky and poorly managed.
At one point, we spent nearly three hours standing in a zig-zag queue, only to discover that the train we were waiting for required an additional reservation. Without that, we would have been waiting indefinitely with no direction or communication.
What made it more disappointing was that we had paid for first class, expecting a smoother, more organised experience. Instead, there was no visible system to manage seating or prioritise passengers who had paid a premium. We were even asked to move seats for others claiming they had first-class tickets—despite the fact that so did we. It raised the obvious question: what exactly are you paying extra for?
For the price, the service lacks clarity, organisation, and basic customer management. A few key improvements would make a significant difference—clearer booking processes within the app, better communication around when reservations are required, and a structured system to manage seating, particularly for first-class passengers. Without these, the experience simply doesn’t match the premium cost.
When you’re travelling in a new country, you rely heavily on clear systems, guidance, and a level of trust that what you’ve paid for will be delivered. Unfortunately, that trust just wasn’t met here.

It was pretty bad, you lost mine and my travel partner’s sensitive personal information!!! I want a full refund.
I had multiple excellent experiences with interrail, including excellent customer service which was not only fast, but also helpful and resolutive within a day.
That allowed me to continue my travels swiftly even when I was the one making a mistake.
10/10 the interrail and Eurasia teams, thanks for making possible a more sustainable mean of transportation!

We love the app for booking our trips on the run. It’s always easy to change our plans at the last minute with just a few clicks. We’ve been in Europe for 7 months and have been to so many wonderful places by train.

My husband and I both had the same issue: we could not add journeys to our trip when we were in France. The help desk was no help at all. We ended up using only 3 of our 7 alloted travel days as the app was not working. I had good luck with our last pass in Switzerland and Italy, but in France it was a terrible experience. I will not be using the Eurail pass again. Beware there is not technical help when you are on your trip, you are on your own and will lose money,
When we tried to add a journey to our trip in the rail planner app it would advance to the point of point of asking what trip to add to (for us it was France). We would check the box for France and it would go nowhere. We both got into a dew loop. We ended up buying tickets for extra one extra trip and did not even try to go on other extra trips.
We texted with a person and sent screen shots. The only thing they could do was repeat the instructions that we already knew. It just was not working due to some sort of app glitch.

I ordered my Eurail Pass and received the link to add it to my app and activate it. Problem is when I tried to activate the pass, I entered the information and the app told me to input the activation code that they emailed me. I never received the email. I requested it multiple times and received nothing. I emailed their customer service and received a response saying they would respond within 24 hours. I'm lucky that I wasn't in Europe and ready to use the pass. 24 hour response for help with a pass that isn't working is unacceptable. I'm cancelling the pass and will go with another rail service. Below, I see Eurail responded to my complaint saying that I tried to contact them outside of their normal hours. Last year when my pass wasn't working on my first day in Germany, it took them 14 hours to respond. By the time they responded, I had already purchased a train ticket. If you don't mind waiting 14 hours for a response when you have problems with your Eurail Pass, then it may be a good product for you. If you want a company that has good customer support where you don't have to wait over 12 hours, and pay for a train ticket when you thought you had a valid rail pass then I recommend you stay away from a Eurail Pass.

We will always use a Eurail pass after our recent experience. When we missed a connection it was simple to use the app to change to a later train. Luckily we had also made seat reservations for the later train, just in case there was a problem with the connection
The Eurail app is brilliant once you've set up your trip as directions for setting up the trip are vague.

Honestly one of the worst sites I have used for travel. You pay an insane amount of money for "4 days" of travel, but once you have the pass they make it impossible to book tickets. My friend and I went to book a trip only 2 hours away and it took us 2 hours to book it because either the eurail site was down or we had to go to an outside provider to book it. Not to mention the eurail site was down most of the time we tried to book it. Everyone thinks this service makes it easier, but in the grand scheme of things it makes it more time consuming and more expensive.

The pass is a great way to travel. I use the first class pass, either 7 or 10 days. I always buy them on sale, so the first class isn't much more than the second class one would normallybe, and there are always seats available in first class without booking. And DB are even giving out chocolates in first class. Great value and great flexibility.

The seat reservation payments are far more complicated than they should be. We booked tickets but couldn't reserve seats, went to the station to do this and were told we had to pay full price fare because the Eurail pass tickets had been used up. The staff at the station could not care less. Cost us another €109 each after she told us the train was about full and next available tickets were 2 days later. So we paid and got on board and there were multiple open seats.

Unable to use train pass because I could not get into app with my phone. Unable contact eurail because no phone number was in any of the pass codes or paperwork that was sent thru email BEFORE my trip. If you don't fix this you'll lose more customers.

Strengths - Convenience of the application on-line across several countries; Areas for Improvement - train schedules not always current. app does not work well in tunnels. Also., the daily update process on the app is very cumbersome - when to do it and why. Calling customer service and getting a human being to speak with very slow when you are actually on the train; My system / app broke and your agent could not say why it occurred - my pass disappeared on the first day and your staff could not explain why and I had to reload completely, almost resulting in an excessive fine. That was not acceptable.
