AVOID - no resolution three months on - £300 order
AVOID! I’ve had a three‑month ordeal with Evans Cycles after receiving the wrong bike before Christmas. Multiple failed collection attempts, no communication from the courier, and the complaint wasn’t properly logged despite repeated requests. Refunds were processed incorrectly - including onto a gift card that now doesn’t work.
Still no proper resolution and extremely poor customer service from multiple advisors. When visiting one of their brand partners (Sports Direct) the staff there laughed when I told them my experience and said 'yeah, that's Evans Cycles for you - they're terrible"

Don't buy online from Evans Cycles
Don't buy online from Evans Cycles! I ordered two tyres paying for the Next day delivery. Only one was delivered, customer service asked me to wait 1 day, then after 1 week and many e-mails they replied regarding the refund but without refund for the Next day delivery. Terrible service.
Waited 2 weeks for order to get cancelled due to not being in stock
Ordered a new ebike, waited until my order was due. Received an email saying it's out of stock and had to cancel my order. They told me it was updating and in the warehouse etc but they've finally just decided last minute to check if the bike was even available. Why advertise the bike if it wasn't available

My bike was stolen which I bought from Evans 8 years ago. I contacted them for some information on the bike for the police. To my surprise, they had no record of my purchase, as they said they don't keep records for that far back. I can think of one good reason why they wouldn't keep these records.

Urban bike…
I wanted a new urban bike and needed to pay by monthly finance , Evans was a good choice as I had bought bits and pieces from them before .
Poor service
Popped in on a Saturday with a puncture. Workshop not open. There’s not another workshop within 15 miles of the Wimbledon store. Evans know this is the case. So they are happy to take our money but can’t provide one person to be there at the weekend to deal with minor problems?

Just bought a new Vitus Sentier…
Just bought a new Vitus Sentier hardtail mountain bike and I’m absolutely chuffed with it!
I dealt with Kyle from the Guildford store, from start to finish, from my initial phone consultation through to walking me through the different bike options. He made the whole experience really enjoyable. Super knowledgeable and professional, especially for someone who has been out of riding for a while.
I picked the bike up yesterday and Kyle took the time to walk me through everything, setup, gears, braking, tech, and general maintenance. He was patient, friendly, and explained everything clearly, which I really appreciated.
5-star service all round, great staff, great store, first-rate experience.
Can’t wait to get out riding this weekend now that spring has finally arrived!

Do not buy a bike online with Evans.
I recently attempted a 'Click and Collect' order, but the system defaulted to a standard online purchase. I later discovered that online orders cannot be returned in-store, leaving me stuck with additional delivery and return fees. While your in-store staff is excellent, the online infrastructure and lack of customer support are incredibly frustrating. I’ve wasted half a day on this, and as a result, I will not be shopping with you again.
Bike damaged in transit
I ordered a bike to store and was informed it was broken in transit. The store people were not very helpful and provided no timeline on when the bike would be fixed, if a replacement could be sent. After spending a lot of money on bike I would have expected to be better informed and solutions found quicker.
bike for my son’s birthday went missing
My order of bike for my son’s birthday which was ordered in ample time went missing in transit and the tracking number disappeared aswell. Raised this with customer service they arranged for a new bike to be sent out.
Unfortunately my son is not going to have the bike he was looking forward too on his birthday now.
I appreciate this is more a courier issue rather than Evans themselves but still it’s all part of the overall online order purchase I’m paying for.
I have to say I’m Disappointed.

Amazing deal. Been needing a budget friendly commutator bike that I can customise. Good customer service on arranging delivery.
No service, very poor reception
Called to look after online search. A friend had just changed allegiance to james cycles after several poor experiences. Found it hard to believe.
I left fairly efficiently after one of the 2 staff managed to raise a finger to a general area for my request , then basically walked off. Absolutely shoddy. Several bikes in there tho.

Paid £2000 for a bike which got lost in transit on way to store. Evans now say they have no more stock although are still selling on website. I am awaiting a refund at present.

1 star – extremely disappointing experience with Evans Cycles.
I spent around £3.200____ on a bike expecting professional service and support. Instead, the entire process turned into weeks of frustration and unnecessary stress.
Dealing with Evans customer service felt like a constant battle. Every time I tried to resolve the issue, I was passed between different people and had to explain the same situation again and again. Instead of helping a customer who had spent a significant amount of money, the process was slow, confusing, and incredibly frustrating.
The situation with the voucher made things even worse. What should have been a simple and quick solution turned into another unnecessary problem that took far too much time to deal with.
Buying a bike should be an enjoyable experience. Instead, this became one of the most stressful and frustrating customer service experiences I have ever had.
After everything I went through, I honestly cannot recommend Evans Cycles to anyone. If you value your time, your money, and your peace of mind, think very carefully before buying from them.
Honest and upfront advice
Recently bought a Specialized Roubaix - fast delivery and on time. Chris in the Southampton shop set it all up for me and did a bike fit. Very helpful advice and in no way pushy just honest and upfront.

This, despite, most excellent, ORTLIEB panniers arriving long after I'd returned from cycle tour of Isle of ARRAN, circa, 2012-17?
This, yet again, due to doubt due to appalling, EVRI and/or DPD couriers?
However, given my brand new, once used GIANT shouldn't have been stolen, by the inverDeplorables, inverMESS, 2021? I shouldn't need to replace them too.
But, not since SportsDirect.CON whom I paid £28.72 for 100% cotton socks, circa 2006-12, only to belatedly learn were but only 22%. Where upon, I shouldn't have had to return them, inverMESS where upon they retained the socks & my money, without replacing as should have.
Given, which. Much as I should like to, I haven't & shant be repurchasing anything from EVANS bicycles, SportsDirect.CON, nor WIGGLE whom sold me an all but useless VANGO Banshee tent, which was quite at variance with that other, most excellent tent, Force Ten, purchased circa, 2009, but likewise, since acquired by SportsDirect.CON. Thanks but NO THANKS.
