Amy was very attentive, from the moment I arrived at the service desk. She offered to get me a drink and also set me up with a desk to work from, whilst I waited. She checked on me periodically, to see if I needed a drink etc. When the service was completed, she came over to me and went through the report and advised on any next steps. Amy also made sure the car was parked close to the entrance, with plenty of access to the driver's side. As a motability customer, I have sometimes felt like a second tier customer. Due to the fact that our cars are provided at reduced cost.
Amy was very friendly and professional, and in my experience (as a senior customer relations manager), a credit to the team and a great brand ambassador, for the the dealership. Keep up the fab work, Amy

Buying a new car is never something I look forward to, however this time it was made so easy. Kay, the salesman could not have been more helpful, from information about the car, to helping me when I struggled with my mobile pyaing the deposit! He is a gem. The used car was immaculate when I collected it. Contact has been excellent - all round extremely good experience - thanks Kay!

Bought a used car on 12 May and left a deposit. Was told it would take 10 days to prep. I was then told the car (Audi) needed to go to a main dealer as they had a special tool for the gearbox as it needed a service. 2 weeks later still not told the truth other than they are waiting for the main dealer to fit the car in. Was then handed over to the Used Car Sales Manager who told me there was a fault with the gearbox and they were waiting for a specialist to arrive "that day" and I would get an update as to what his findings were. No update was forthcoming. In fact, if I hadn't been chasing them, I doubt I would have even had a call yet some two months later. Sales Manager was quite rude and when I told him I had contacted Evans Halshaw MD, his attitude changed. He then said he would get it resolved. He never. It then got handed over to the Dealership General Manger. She was great for 2 weeks and then she moved on to another dealership within the Group. I was then handed over to another GM who had taken over Wakefield. I was told I would get an update on the Monday from him. I never. So I then contacted the MD again and magically I got a reply very shortly after from the new Wakefield GM. Car is now into its 11th week and I am still no further forward with knowing when it will be ready. Had I have known from the start what the real problem was, I would not have left a deposit. I still do not know how this is going to be resolved or what EH are going to do to put his right.

I booked my car in to have a service and its first MOT. When I arrived everything was ready no waiting Amy was very efficient and I left within 5 mins, I was called just after lunch the same day to say my car was ready, again on my return everything was ready and again left within 5 mins, I was sent a video of the being inspected by the technician (Amy sent the video) with a full commentary as to the state of the vehicle as the inspection was done. First rate car service and customer service would definitely recommend

The service manager, here is superb.
After a less than pleasant experience at the Hull dealership, he and sales assistant, Alyssa, restored my confidence in Evans Halshaw.
Nothing was too much trouble and problems encountered at the Hull dealership were overcome.
At the Hull dealership there was aggressive and condescending upselling, bordering on discrimination, with an inappropriate item being pushed. I was asked over the telephone, if I needed someone with me and then questioned as to why I would need to ask the advice of others before deciding if I wished to purchase extra items. I and two others were told that dealing with Wakefield would cost me an extra £140. Seeing that I was spending almost £30,000, I persisted with Hull, but I suggest that they seriously review the telephone calls of their younger salespeople to improve and regulate their skills.

I have given a single star since there is nothing lower possible. Vauxhall Corsa is very well known to be plagued with certain problems that keep on recurring time and again for most.
I had the very common ABS wiring loom fault which makes the dashboard go bonkers with lights and bells along with the Aircon Compressor fault leading to an Electrical Traction system warning. Both of these are very well known issues with Corsa (both ICE and Electric).
I luckily had a Vauxhall Extended Warranty with me and hence the AirCon compressor bill £1250 was covered by it, thanks to the lovely service advisor and her hard work after having been refused by the same dealership couple of months back when she was not there.
The ABS wiring loom and the diagnostic cost me £260 inspite of this being a commoner problem and many other Vauxhall dealerships around the country covering it in house because of the prevalence of the issue. I tried to reason with them many times but I was told ' even Porsche has design faults but that doesn't mean that they would cover it !! '
That's the level of goodwill Evans Halshaw Vauxhall gives you !!!

Poor customer service from start to finish where do I begin. On receiving a call to schedule a date for service and MOT the Service Advisor was only going to book my car in for MOT and no service. On arriving at the garage they didn’t know what my car was booked in for even though they had the job sheet in front of them. Received a call with a list of advisories following the health check saying could they have permission for all the work.I advised to carry out essential works only required for the MOT the rest could be done at a later date. I had to chase to see if my car was ready and they didn’t have the decency to call and advise they were waiting for parts which they couldn’t get until the following day. On collecting the following day they initially had not given me 10% discount for parts and labour as stated in my service plan for additional works. They only gave me discount on parts saying labour wasn’t covered even though it clearly stated in my service plan it was. They carried out additional works which wasn’t essential for MOT. Upon checking all my documents when I got home I called and requested a call back to discuss no call forthcoming so will now be writing to the Manager. I have used Evans Halshaw in the past with no issues but this year customer service was atrocious

We tried to call but nobody answered. Eventually got a call back. Booked for a diagnostics check but weren't sure this was what was needed. Were told someone from servicing would call us back to discuss. This never happened. Not great service - lots wrong with the van that isn't covered under warranty but we believe should be. Not the best for a new van - probably won't buy Vauxhall next time.

From before my appointment Amy was superb. A call the day before to meeting me at the door to getting my keys to make sure my waiting time was at a minimum. Keeping me informed of progress to a nice general chat during my wait. Couldn’t wish for anything better . Above and beyond.👍

Wakefield evans halshaw....where do I start!
Took my company van for a service and locks not working,
Phoned 3 times saying locks were fixed went to pick up and they still did not work, snooty staff told me it was me as was ok for them. Had to take a video to show them the problem.
Talked to me in a degrading manor because it was a company vehicle.
Talked sbout customers while I was there waiting to ne served.
Supposedly replaced my brakes but they are worse now than before.
Icing on the cake is the van came out more dirtier than it went in with tree sap and God knows what all over it making it extremely sticky....
No updates..me constantly chasing thrm.
Absolutely shocking service

Evans Halshaw really don't care about you after you've handed over money for a car. My 4 year old car was towed home following a breakdown. It took 3 weeks before our car could be looked at (we bought the car from the Wakefield dealership and that was a 'priority booking'). On the day of repair, I called in the afternoon to get an update and was told they're waiting on Motability to authorise the repair. I highlighted that we bought the car from Evans Halshaw and they should know that the car has nothing to do with Motability. The person then mentioned, 'Oh, it's all the same system and we're waiting on the extended warranty company to authorise the repair before the inspection can be done'. It felt like I was being lied too to cover up an admin error since the warranty company wouldn't look at a claim until the inspection was completed. Another day wasted on top of 3 weeks without the car. The service team often simply don't answer the phone AND will pick the phone up and hang up immediately if it rings for too long. This is the last time I'll be buying a vehicle from this company.
A word of warning - EH's Premium extended warranty implies you'll receive a hire car when your vehicle is in for repairs but this is not strictly true. My car is in for replacement of a wet belt and it's taking 4 weeks for this straightforward job. We're not entitled to a car hire because technically, it'll take 6 hours to replace the wet belt once the kit finally arrives (multi week lead time). EH couldn't care less about the inconvenience this is causing.

I paid £100 to reserve a car online 17.04.25 whilst in discussion with Alyssa who advised me to make the reservation. A few hours later Byron the manager phoned me to let me know the car was being transferred to another dealership to be sold to a different customer. Byron told me he would issue the refund that day and the funds would be straight into my account. I have chased this several times as it has been over a week now. Byron told me there had been a glitch with the system and a manual refund would be issued and this still hasn’t happened.
It’s bad enough that as a customer I was able to reserve a car online which was then apparently reserved by someone else (why does the website allow customers to reserve cars that have already been reserved?) but to be chasing my deposit refund 8 days on after being told funds would be back in my account the same day it isn’t acceptable.
I would therefore recommend other customers not to make any reservations as there is every chance the car will be sold to someone else and you too will be struggling to get your deposit back.

Nearly four weeks ago I have enquired about Vauxhall Corsa via Evan’s Halshaw website. Little did I realise the car was in Wakefield (I’m in Newcastle). Half an hour later I got a call from Daniel that the car is ready for pick up te same day. With help from Iain all the formalities have been sorted over the phone. Once I got a train to Wakefield, upon arrival I got greeted by Iain and drove to the branch: All of the staff where were friendly and once all the paperwork was signed I drove back to Newcastle in my brand new ‘24 reg Corsa. Great customer service and very happy with my purchase!!!
