Almost Ruined Our First Festival - Do Not Work with Benjamin Stonehouse - Dangerous Workmanship

This company has now gone into administration, thank goodness! Be careful to work for the company director Benjamin Stonehouse. Our first festival was scammed by a dangerous staging which was not finished and not corrected. We then had to pay thousands of pounds to create a new stage in staffing and equipment. Not to mention the stress, having to reschedule our timings, pushing artists and activities back by hours and leading to a few guests being unable to perform. This led to refund requests and compensation which we paid out to our guests, even though none of this was our fault!

A refund was offered in writing by the company and then rescinded. We then took the company to court and were awarded 2 County Court Judgements for a refund and compensation. However after this was awarded the company went into administration. Multiple other companies and businesses have been affected by their poor workmanship and our small festival had its reputation harmed due to their inability and dangerous work. We have yet to be awarded a penny in compensation or a refund, totalling over £22,000.

Thankfully we have now learnt from this experience and are working with top quality production and staging for our upcoming festival and future events. For further details on our hard work to make this years festival right please visit the Jam for Freedom Festival website.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
Worked for these clowns at a Festival in Essex as a Sound Tech/ Stage build. Treated me like sh"t even though they were understaffed and the Festival would not have happened without my hard work (finishing the stage on the morning of the event starting). Have not received any payment!!! Please do not waste your time with this shambolic company!! Ben Stonehouse shame on you!!

Hi I'm Sindhu,well I used event gear…

Hi I'm Sindhu, well I used event gear for the stage hire.
They really made the function work 😁
It looked so nice
The stage was done in 2 hours but William was so calm even though people out there were messing up the directions or can say they confused him.

William was so nice and friendly with those persons even though they really bothered up his work and delayed his job.
Literally the event gear nailed it.
Thank you so much
Don't mind the bad reviews some people tend to write some rubbish but really they showed up and did the job so well.

Highly Professional Team

We hired the Events Gear team for an annual event that we have on an exclusive resort. They provided us with staging, lighting, PA systems, technicians - the works! They were professional, polite kept us up to date and were always available when we needed clarity and assistance. We have hired them again for a lighting set up for Halloween and wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future. Thanks Guys

Ben Stonehouse gives cowboys a bad name.

I went to a music festival on the weekend of 4th-6th August 2023 in Hertfordshire. The stage was set-up by Events Gear Ltd and their staff and was subsequently deemed unsafe by the local council’s health & safety team. The stage was then condemned and put out of action leaving the festival without a main stage.

What made matters worse was that Event Gear’s staff then took some needed equipment with them off site and then they refused to pick up the phone (for 3 days straight) to come and help recify their amatuerish mess. Disgracefully this left hundreds of paying festival goers including families with children without a main stage and the "professional" staff needed to help run the event.

Needless to say this organisation is an absolute disgrace to the Events industry and failure to even pick up the phone tells you all you need to know about what kind of person the operations manager is and how this sham of a company treats it’s paying customers.

Edit: This company unsurprisingly folded. Though due to the nature of business in the UK anyone can just start up again under a different name. So BE VERY AWARE OF BENJAMIN STONEHOUSE and the company he keeps: Real bad rip-off merchants.

UNTRUSTWORTHY.

If you ever consider working for this company then you should insist on and get paid BEFORE you do any work.
I was messed around and then did not get paid. The manager is shifty in the extreme. Proceed with caution.
