Almost Ruined Our First Festival - Do Not Work with Benjamin Stonehouse - Dangerous Workmanship
This company has now gone into administration, thank goodness! Be careful to work for the company director Benjamin Stonehouse. Our first festival was scammed by a dangerous staging which was not finished and not corrected. We then had to pay thousands of pounds to create a new stage in staffing and equipment. Not to mention the stress, having to reschedule our timings, pushing artists and activities back by hours and leading to a few guests being unable to perform. This led to refund requests and compensation which we paid out to our guests, even though none of this was our fault!
A refund was offered in writing by the company and then rescinded. We then took the company to court and were awarded 2 County Court Judgements for a refund and compensation. However after this was awarded the company went into administration. Multiple other companies and businesses have been affected by their poor workmanship and our small festival had its reputation harmed due to their inability and dangerous work. We have yet to be awarded a penny in compensation or a refund, totalling over £22,000.
Thankfully we have now learnt from this experience and are working with top quality production and staging for our upcoming festival and future events. For further details on our hard work to make this years festival right please visit the Jam for Freedom Festival website.
