Expedia do not display the correct baggage information on there website when you book i’am now stuck with a different baggage allowance for my return journey 5 kg less than going out
When I contacted Expedia they just said they couldn’t do anything and if I had to pay for extra baggage they would refund me on return but this is just not good enough I booked believing I had 30 kg I will never use them again ridiculous

The price changed between showing the hotel rooms available and the actual booking. I had OneKey cash and the price basically used all this to bring the price down to what was promised. The price was also meant to include all taxes and fees but the checkout added these on. I went back to the same list after making the booking within a minute and price was lower than what I had just paid. Customer services were no help stated prices do fluctuate. They made no comment about discrepancy on being charged tax. Will not be using them again.

AVOID EXPEDIA. Three weeks ago I tried booking hotel and flights to London. I got a message saying booking failed but I saw a pending charge on my credit card for the flights. I used their live chat and was told that there was no booking and pending charge would disappear. So based on Expedia’s response I tried booking again with a different credit card. Again booking failed and I saw another pending charge. After that I booked separately with hotel and BA. Two days later both pending charges were now full charges totalling over £500. Contacted Expedia live chat and was told I had no bookings on my account so couldn’t help and hung up on me. I contacted BA who were able to give me the confirmation numbers for the 2 “failed” bookings and confirmed in writing that they were made through Expedia. Over the last 3 weeks I’ve sent Expedia 3 long and detailed email messages with all details looking for them to sort out a refund. On each occasion email has been forwarded on to their flight specialists. I’ve received absolutely no response. Sent another email this evening asking for a name of someone who I can contact. Got a message back to say it had been passed on to their flight specialists. CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS NON-EXISTENT. No doubt Expedia will leave a message here suggesting that I contact their customer support🤣
The attached reply that I just got from Expedia customer service does not even relate to my actual experience. EXPEDIA DON’T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY.

I booked a holiday and at the other end of recognise my reservation and I simply could not speak to anybody so I had to book another reservation with another hotel and the next day they recognise that the reservation was there and I lost both nights. No one was there to speak to no one was there to answer any call? They were very slow and respondent through chat, I will never ever use Expedia ever again.

Scandalous scam. I booked a hotelroom at what I though was the website of the hotel itself. Out of nowhere extra costs were thrown on: over a hundred pounds on top of the cost of the room. No anullment possible.

I was travelling with my two young children to see my mother in hospital, and Expedia's handling of a simple booking issue turned an already stressful trip into a nightmare.
Unfortunately the ESTA application system wasn't working properly, and the confirmation codes for my kids' applications didn't come through in time. I called Expedia over 90 minutes before the flight and stayed on the phone with an agent the entire time trying to sort it out. He was literally in the process of changing my booking when the system marked me as a "no show" just minutes after departure, while we were still on the call. Because of that, he told me he could no longer make the change.
I was passed to a supervisor who also couldn't help, and was going to check the policy but he then hung up on me. I ended up having to resolve everything myself at the airport with two young kids in tow, and was charged the full cost of a brand new flight, despite having done everything right and being on the phone with Expedia well before my flight left.
Incredibly poor service at the worst possible time.

Worst experience while booking. I had booked a flight from London to Turkey including baggage allowance shown while booking. However, when I received the email confirmation, the confirmation email did not have the baggage allowance. When contacted the expedia agents, they did not have the solution and I had to cancel the booking.
Experience 2: I was trying to book stay at Cornwall. I got an email from Expedia stating booking is cancelled as payment information is not updated. Even after updating payment information, the booking got cancelled and had to go through the ordeal of making the booking again, just to realise that booking is cancelled again with the same reason. Expedia asked me to contact the property directly and they said they do not have any confirmation from Expedia to reserve the booking.

Clunky UX but a decent array of hotels and flight option. Good filters but could do with a overhaul/ updated design and better AI integration. Decent customer service experience but transactions sometimes fail which is annoying.

I have been a loyal Expedia customer for years, but my recent experience has completely undermined my trust in the company.
I booked and prepaid a car rental through Expedia. The booking terms displayed on Expedia stated that there was a two-hour grace period for collection. Due to delays at immigration and baggage collection, I arrived at the rental desk within that two-hour period.
When I arrived, I was told that my reservation had already been cancelled as a “no-show” after one hour and that the only way to obtain a car was to make a new booking. As a result, I had no practical option but to pay triple the price for the same rental.
What has disappointed me most is Expedia’s handling of my complaint.
Rather than investigating why a booking that included a two-hour grace period was cancelled after one hour, Expedia has repeatedly relied on the rental supplier’s explanations. The supplier has since introduced reasons that were not given to me at the time, including suggesting that the absence of a credit card justified what happened. However, my reservation had already been cancelled before I even arrived at the rental desk, so they could not have known what payment card I intended to present.
Despite providing Expedia with the booking terms, my evidence, and a detailed timeline, I feel that my concerns have not been properly addressed. Instead of objectively investigating the conflicting accounts, Expedia appears simply to have accepted the supplier’s version of events.
As a customer, I expected Expedia to stand behind the booking terms presented on its own platform and to ensure that suppliers honoured those terms. Instead, I have been left significantly out of pocket and forced to spend many hours trying to resolve an issue that should never have happened.
I hope Expedia reviews this matter thoroughly and provides a fair resolution, because this experience has unfortunately left me questioning whether I can rely on the booking information displayed on its platform in the future.
For sure they will not see me nor anyone I know as a repeat client. If you cannot be trusted you will end up with no business.
Edit: Expedia has resolved the matter after escalation.

The airline notes are on the file. Please have an escalation manager or ticketing supervisor review the case notes and process the Emirates-authorised change immediately instead of sending me back into the frontline chat queue.
Pathetic experience. I booked my Emirates flight from London with a layover in Dubai. However due to some operational issue the schedule changed. Emirates agreed to the availability of my choosen flight and even left a note with Expedia on my booking. Even now I can see seats available in same class on expedia too. However half of the agents told me flight is cancelled and other half says no seats. I was ready to even pay for an upgrade. But they are just not ready to. My flight was in August and they are giving me an alternate option in November. What the heck. My entire schedule is hampered and they are so slow and rigid. Even contacting emirates directly never crossed their mind I had to literally beg them at the end. They are letting me book the same flight separately and pay but won't do the same for my current booking which emirates authorized for free change. At this point I can't even cancel and book again as it'll cost me double what I paid initially.

I am extremely disappointed with Expedia’s handling of my booking.
I booked return flights for my sister and me with Royal Air Maroc through Expedia on 2 May 2026. Just one week before departure, Expedia informed us that both of our connecting flights had been cancelled. The only option offered online was a refund.
When I called Expedia, I repeatedly explained that I did not accept a refund and wanted to be rerouted so we could still make our trip. We had already booked annual leave, planned activities, and I had applied for my visa based on this itinerary.
Instead of helping us find an alternative, the agent repeatedly insisted that I accept a refund, saying Royal Air Maroc had not provided another flight. At no point did Expedia appear willing to assist in finding a suitable rerouting option.
I booked through Expedia expecting support when things went wrong. Instead, I was left feeling pressured to abandon a long-planned trip. Very poor customer service and an extremely frustrating experience.

Tried to book a package holiday which declined payment but took pending payments for the flights. As the holiday was never booked we have no official communication to send to the bank to cancel these pending charges. The bank is saying we need to wait 30 days for the funds to be released, as Expedia and BA both do not want to take responsibility over the transaction. Alot of faff for no reason. Very annoyed about money being tied up. Book direct to save the hassle.

I booked a ticket with you guys and you cancelled my booking after few hours and you took soo much time for the refund. Very very very pathetic service you guys have. I will not recommend anyone to go ahead with you guys.

We have a small business and every time we receive a booking from Expedia they cover the guest number so that we cannot speak to them for any issue or the check in. If you ask them they reply it is a technical issue they are trying to sort out: lies.
Not happy at all. Will cut off our collaboration.
Update: we already contacted you several times no results as you do that on purpose to not to share guests contact and this thing does not allow us to give a good service and guests get frustrated too. You know this as many hosts are contacting you for the same issue. Your choice.

Unfortunately, I had to cancel my flight to the US the day before departure. I logged into Expedia website to cancel my booking and was presented with a cancellation offer, which I accepted. Within minutes, I received an email confirming both the cancellation and the exact refund amount I would receive.
About a week later, I noticed a lower amount had been refunded to my card.
I contacted customer support to ask why. I was told the difference was due to various costs and that the higher refund amount shown during the cancellation process was never actually going to be paid, and that this was covered in the terms and conditions.
My question is simple: if that amount was never going to be refunded, why was I shown it and then sent a confirmation email explicitly stating, in writing, "We will refund you £XXXX to your card"?
I accepted the offer based on the information your system presented to me. At no point during the cancellation process, or in the confirmation email, was there any indication that the refund amount shown was incorrect or subject to change.
To make matters worse, the support and escalations team suggested this was somehow my fault because I used the online portal instead of calling. Apparently, if I had phoned, an agent could have explained the actual refund amount.
That response only undermines confidence in your own systems. If your staff are effectively saying customers cannot rely on the information displayed on your website or in your confirmation emails, then there is clearly a serious issue with the accuracy and reliability of your cancellation process.

Booked hotel room for 3 people , arrived and only one double bed no sofa bed ? Forced to sleep on floor ,no coffee facilities and room was filthy will never use Expedia again !!! Awful customer service attitude!
In response to the reply from Expedia: I’ve spent all day on the phone and sending emails to ur customer service and you don’t care !!!

Honestly thought I could trust them as a provider but they've just let me down through both their customer service and sneaky business practices.
I find it absolutely bonkers that they get away with being a platform which offers a 'hassle-free' way to book return flights when they can offer differing tiers of ticket for each leg without flagging this properly?
I was stuck with a return flight with less included luggage that the outbound flight when Expedia could easily make more money and streamline the process to match each flight. Booking.com or trip.com aren't even my preferred method compared to booking straight through an airline but after this experience I realise that they're both miles better in their clarification!
AVOID using them if you can- such a waste of time, energy and money to sort out this issue. AND they won't take liability for it.

having filed my dissatisfied customer review in early July, Expedia "Customer Service" responded publicly to that review asking that I contact them (again?) to resolve the matter. I have spent hours on the phone and on line with Expedia trying to resolve (in advance) and then also post the failed travel experience and got exactly nowhere. Now I am being asked to do it again - I have much better things to do with my time. You know my contact details if you wish to resolve the matter.
