A new Optometrist took over the Office in Richmond Village, ON., after the previous one retired.
I went to the new guy a few times, and then stopped. He was always trying to upsell me on everything. Eyedrops, eye wipes, at 3 times the price of W, and a $300 scan of the back of my eye that I needed like a hole in the head.
The worst thing is that he wrote my friend a prescription for a Cataract Surgeon. The Prescription wasn't even close. My friend ended up with eyesight that was much worse than before the Cataract Surgery. He advised my friend not to drive until he got prescription glasses. He then proceeded to sell my friend Prescription glasses to correct his disaster for $450. Eyeglasses with all the coatings cost $250 at W.
It is not known yet if this expenditure will help or hinder my friends sight.
I had gotten Cataract Surgery with a prescription from the original Optometrist around 5 years ago. The prescription was perfect. My eyesight was 100% perfect after the surgery.
