How can the design be so wrong?
I purchased the E-Motion ballpoint pen yesterday and upon arrival it truly looked magnificent. The troubles started after I finished using the pen for the first time. The pen design means that to retract the ballpoint, you need to rotate the top component of the pen. Nothing too difficult here you say...
The ink refill is too thick for the end of then pen! When you try to retract the ballpoint, nothing happens. Full rotation of the top results in zero movement of the ballpoint. The hole in the end of the pen is an interference fit with the ballpoint refill. Someone really messed up with their measurements.
Giving Faber-Castell the benefit of the doubt I ordered the correct ballpoint refills hoping they would actually fit the pen. No such luck - the official Faber-Castell refills also get stuck in the end of the pen meaning the pen does not retract 1mm.
How can Faber-Castell produce such trash?
Do yourself a favour and purchase a cheap ballpoint pen. Purchase this pen at your own peril. Faber-Castell should be ashamed!
Update: this pen decided to break in two today (12th November). The the inferior plastic mechanism has a weak point where the two outer metal body components meet. The pen is now worse than useless. Let's see if Faber-Castell read this and send a replacement... (I have already written to them directly and still awaiting a response).
The products are good - just don't get in touch with customer service
I bought a 120 set of Albrecht Durer Watercolour pencils from Faber Castell on Amazon - only to find that when I opened them, a pencil was missing - the tin was sealed so, obviously something went wrong at the factory. I emailed customer service and waited two weeks to get no response. I emailed again and messaged them on instagram. They told me to return the pencils to Amazon for a replacement - which I refuse to do as 1. I'm physically disabled ; 2. I've been using the other pencils for two weeks and 3. What happens if I get another tin with a pencil missing? All I asked for was the missing pencil to be replaced - which would have cost maybe £2.00 - which Faber Castell seem to think is unreasonable. Instead, I have had to order the missing pencil myself to complete the set. I am extremely unhappy!
Love their pencils
Love their pencils! Despite their price, they are actually soft and colorful and in the same time literary unbreakable! Thank you for creating this amazing brand.
Faber-Castell
In my opinion, Faber-Castell is by far, one of the best pencil manufacturers in the world. I am a huge fan of their quality and would almost always prefer to use a Faber-Castell pencil to one of another brand.
