Frustrating support experience

I am giving Fanatec two stars for my overall support experience. The final agent, Chris Schulze, would personally receive five stars from me! (He told me that I could mention his name in my review.) Unfortunately, he only became involved after several weeks of an exhausting warranty process.

My ClubSport Pedals V3 Inverted developed intermittent input problems. From opening the case on 7 of June until receiving a brand-new replacement on 14 of July, the process lasted more than five weeks and involved approximately 68 emails by my count.

The initial support agent was polite and appeared willing to help, but I found many of the troubleshooting instructions unclear. For example, I was asked to update the Fanatec PC App while being told that no firmware update was required. Since I use the equipment on PlayStation, it was never explained what updating the PC application alone was expected to change, what result I should look for, or what the next step would be. Follow-up questions often resulted in another long wait, usually with no more than one response per day. That may be acceptable for a simple question, but it makes multi-stage troubleshooting extremely slow.

I understand that Fanatec must investigate a fault before approving a warranty return. However, in my opinion, far too much of the work was transferred to me as a customer. I supplied videos, screenshots, serial numbers, calibration information and detailed descriptions. I purchased a new RJ12 cable and even another racing game specifically for testing. I spent hours attempting to reproduce and document an intermittent fault. I also asked whether the wheelbase and its RJ12 connection should be examined, as I did not believe the complete signal chain had been conclusively ruled out. This was not properly addressed.

When I later escalated the case as a complaint, I felt that it was treated more like general feedback. The manager remained polite, but much of the response explained why Fanatec’s standard procedures were standard. From my perspective, that missed the point: those slow and fragmented procedures were exactly what I was criticising.

After more than a month, I received a refurbished replacement. In my opinion, it was not in an acceptable near-new condition. The outer box was heavily damaged, with crushed areas, holes and visible moisture marks. The inner product box was also damaged, and the pedals showed dirt, wear and scratches. I documented everything with photographs and videos. The shipping label also appeared to contain only my first name rather than my full name, which contributed to delivery confusion. Because of the visible impact and possible moisture exposure, I chose not to install or test the refurbished unit.

Chris was the first person who handled the case in a practical and solution-oriented way. He reviewed the evidence, accepted that the refurbished replacement was not satisfactory and arranged a brand-new replacement in advance. He did not require me to return the unacceptable unit first, did not restart the troubleshooting process and communicated clearly and quickly.
Most importantly, he appeared to understand that sim racers often participate in scheduled leagues and competitions, and that every additional day without functioning equipment can mean another missed race. His handling was excellent and deserves five stars.

Unfortunately, also the new replacement for the replacement was sent using UPS Standard, despite the previous shipment arriving damaged and moisture-marked. The second parcel was delayed as well.

I understand that individual support agents cannot control every courier scan or driver decision. However, Fanatec chooses the carrier, service level, packaging and RMA shipping process. In my opinion, those decisions remain Fanatec’s responsibility.

I never expected what appeared to me to be a relatively simple warranty case to become this complicated. Fanatec needs to find clearer, faster and more efficient processes, because this experience became a nightmare for me as a customer. Thankfully, Chris finally brought that nightmare to an end,

The new pedals are now installed and functioning correctly so far. I sincerely hope the case is finally over.

Fanatec’s overall warranty process: two stars. Had Chris handled the case from the beginning, this review would have been very different.

Issue with clamp that fixes wheel to…

Issue with clamp that fixes wheel to base. It kept coming loose more frequently and the wheel functions kept failing.
Using the chat function I was contacted by Juan. I sent him as requested a short video and fault description.
Within 24 hours Juan came back to me offering me a replacement bracket with two screws instead of one. On agreeing this remedy the new bracket arrived 24 hours. Incredible!!
I just would like to recognise Juan’s assistance and thank him and Fanatec for their assistance.
Hopefully this fix will last on my fantastic steering wheel.

Outstanding and fast support from Chris S. and Fanatec

Before reaching out to Fanatec regarding an issue with my ClubSport DD+ wheelbase, I was dreading the process. I had read numerous threads on various sim racing forums and Reddit where people complained about massive delays, waiting weeks for a single reply, and even suggesting that customers should open multiple tickets for the exact same issue just to get noticed.

My experience with their support agent, Chris Schulze, completely proved all of those online rumors wrong.

From the very beginning, his response time was incredibly fast, and his communication was crystal clear. Instead of forcing me to ship a heavy wheelbase all the way back from North Macedonia—which would have been a nightmare with local customs—Chris provided me with options. He trusted me as a customer and arranged to send a replacement MPCBA board completely free of charge, along with step-by-step instructions so I could swap it out myself.

Chris turned what I expected to be a month-long headache into a totally smooth and stress-free process. He single-handedly restored my confidence in Fanatec's customer service. Having support like this will definitely keep me in the Fanatec ecosystem for a long time!

bad: assembling the cockpit is a torture. There are a LOT of pieces and they all require assembly in the most complicated way. They did not send instructions. The ones I found online did not include support for older Fanatec wheel mounts (or any other brand for what matters).

Customer service is NON EXISTING

Customer service is NON EXISTING. Been having issues with my Fanatec DD Pro and steering wheel. Was able to play at least 4hrs before it stopped working. Created a ticket but that has been more or less a one way communication. Also created a Refund ticket that also is a one way communication. If you are concidering buying Fanatec DD Pro, i hope you live close to the store.

Great help and service

I had contact with the costumerservice to see if I could buy a set of pedal extentions for the V3 pedalset. I bought mine secondhand without these extentions.

To my surprise they send it free of charge. I also had some contact in the past, had always been helped very nicely through e-mail.

Exceptional Customer Support from Fanatec!

I had an outstanding experience with Fanatec Support, thanks to Juan Martin.

After a lightning strike near my home damaged both my PS5 and my Fanatec GT DD Pro wheel base, I reached out to support not expecting much—but I was genuinely blown away by the outcome. Juan went above and beyond to take care of everything. He arranged for a replacement PCBA (main board) and made sure the entire process was handled quickly and smoothly.

What really stood out was how fast everything was resolved and that he personally ensured I was taken care of from start to finish. Even more surprising, the entire service was provided at no cost.

This level of customer support is rare. Because of this experience, I’ll absolutely remain a loyal Fanatec customer for years to come. Huge thanks again to Juan for the exceptional service!
