I met Ben whilst attending the Victoria Falls marathon on behalf of Play it Forward and decided to use his companies services for my wife’s bucket list visit to SE Asia. The holiday was to include a climb to the summit of Mount Kinabalu but was also to include highlights in the Wetlands etc.
The trip was excellently assembled and I was impressed when everything worked, including local flights and transfers, numerous hotels, and most importantly, all details relating to the hike. Well done Nia and everyone else at Far and Wild. An excellent trip.

This was our 2nd trip organised via Far & Wild from Australia - previously Africa and now Sri Lanka. Nia and the rest of the team were great - excellent ininerary, happy to modify the trip based on my suggestions and research, and they handled some last minute changes caused by a health issue without any problems at all. They were very quick to reply to all messages - and the trip went really smoothly. If you want an up-market holiday, this is a great organisation to organise that sort of trip!

This is the second time we have booked with Nia at Far & Wild and again the result was fantastic. Nia helped us put together a three week adventure throughout Japan and booked all the public transport, every hotel we needed and arranged all of our guided experiences for along the way. Japan is the most amazing country to visit but with the added expertise and backing from Far & Wild, and that of their local partners, we saw things we thought we’d never see, had experiences we didn’t think we’d ever have and most importantly made the absolute most of our time whilst being 6000 miles away from home. In three weeks away we didn’t waste a minute. The services of Nia, and Far & Wild, undoubtedly make any holiday much more special.

I spoke to Ben from Far and Wild in April as he was a friend of a friend and he organised are family holiday to Kenya from start to finish.
He provided lots of options on what to do and where to go to tailor our trip exactly the way we wanted it, especially with 4 children!
We organised are flights ourselves but from landing in Kenya we were well looked after from start to finish.

We had a week in the Masai Mara at House in the Wild and Leopard point including a hot air balloon ride and then 5 days at Diani beach on the Indian ocean.

The resorts were excellent and everything ran like clockwork. You may feel a bit wary about going to Africa if you havent been before but Ben and his team at far & Wild had everything organised. They set an app up so all the information was with us all of the time.

We had to change a plane flight and after one call it was all re booked and sent to my email.
I am sure we will re visit in the future. Many thanks Ben & team for an amazing expereince we will never forget. The Halsall Family

When booking our holiday l felt listened too and was confiendent that they knew the destinations and could tailor make our trip. Everything worked like clockwork. Pick up and drop off we're on time with with compendent drivers. Game drives were fun with knowledgeable guides. Saw and did so much. Base camps and food were very good. Clean comfortable nice staff and good food. The first camp we stayed at offered more at every meal. The second camp was group meals. Home cooked and delicous. We sated 6days on the beach which was too long. 4 days would have been enough.
The holiday was perfect for a mixed age group. Exciting yet safe. Would definitely recommend this company. It did what it said on the box and more.

I can’t thank Ben and the F&W team enough for the unforgettable Kenyan holiday they seamlessly organised for my mum and I. Since moving to Australia 7 years ago, African travel had felt out of reach. However, with so many friends raving about their F&W holidays, I got in touch to see if it was possible from here – the answer was a resounding YES!

From the first conversation, it was clear the team are true experts and know their countries inside out. Their help proved invaluable in planning what turned out to be a trip of a lifetime. On the ground, everything ran like clockwork. Neither Mum nor I had ever experienced such a seamless trip—nothing was missed, and the timings couldn’t have been more perfect. You’re never rushed and always arrive at just the right time.

Although the holiday was full of activity, it felt incredibly relaxing knowing the mental load of logistics was taken care of. And knowing the team were always contactable gave great peace of mind—especially for those of us who aren’t seasoned African travelers.

We went on a mother daughter trip to Kenya and Zanzibar. Ben was incredibly patient with us as we changed our destination quite far into the planning process, but with his expertise and desire to get it right for us both, we had the most memorable trip. The customer care and the attention to detail from Far and Wild was excellent; we would use them again without any hesitations.

Ben got this trip exactly right for our family. A perfect balance between safari and beach. He really knows his stuff and there is no way I would have found out about the places we had stayed if it hadn't been for Ben. It is rare to get good customer service these days but Ben and his team were just excellent - a joy to deal with which made the build up to our trip all the more exciting!

Wonderful, formative family trip to Kenya - father and three sons, 9 days and two camps with one night in the wild. Last minute trip to South Africa for me and my 85 year old dad. The guys nailed it all. 10 days, 3 different locations. Everything went like clockwork and everything was excellent.

We have trusted Far and Wild to arrange our holidays in Africa since their inception. Our recent trip to Kenya was planned efficiently and was excellent throughout from arrival in Nairobi to 3 days in Laikipia on a game reserve and a week in Lamu on the coast. 100% value for money , good communication before we left , warm welcome from the agents on the ground and a vital stewarding service at JKI airport for our return flight.

We haven't been to Africa for a number of years and wanted to some guideance for a family trip. Far & Wild were excellent. Worked with us, listened to us, made excellent suggestions and came up with a trip that worked perfectly for us. Everything worked very well. We were seasoned safari goers having done lots previously when we lived in South Africa, but wanted something a little bit more (and not just safari) to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary which was delayed due to COVID. I chanced across Far and Wild when idly looking at safaris in Kenya and Tanzania, and immediately on contacting Alistair I knew that he understood what we wanted. He offered us choices with some tips on the advantages and disadvantages of each, and we went with a two centre trip staying 5 nights at Ikuka in Ruaha and 5 nights on the beach in Zanzibar. Alistair and his team put together an excellent itinerary that ticked all our boxes and organised and booked everything for us, including international flights. I'm a bit of a control freak normally with holiday planning but it was SO NICE to have someone else do it for me, especially when there were lots of internal flights involved. Both parts of our holiday were amazing and we loved it from beginning to end. Definitely the holiday of a lifetime (at least since our honeymoon!) We hope to return again some time...

It’s hard to know where to start when praising Alistair and Far and Wild for the safari we just had. Firstly this was the trip we thought we would never go on as we booked in 2020 and it was cancelled twice due to covid. We had no idea where to start in planning a safari with our three sons 25,23,17. Never done anything like it before. A friend recommended Far and Wild. Thank goodness they did. We spent ages chatting through the itinerary and nothing was too much trouble. Right up to the detailed chats of what luggage to pack 😂. The result? A dream holiday we all concurred has been our best ever. We have done it all. Mountain biking, canoeing, walking safari, hot air balloon safari. We have seen it all - from prides of lions, herds of elephants sleeping standing up, to vultures picking apart a dead wildebreast, to a black rhino and of course the Great Migration. F&W have fantastic partners on the ground in Tanzania (Wayo/Wilderness) and we have never had care or service like it. Even with some medical support when we needed it for a pre existing condition. A big shout out for Stanley our guide/driver on safari whose knowledge and experience really made the trip. The accommodation was also all amazing. From green tented camps in the middle of nowhere to a magical one on Xmas eve on the edge of the Ngorogora crater with cozy heated beds and fires due to high altitude. Everywhere we went we were greeted like old friends. We are now happily beach side in Zanzibar (also booked with Far & Wild) and reflecting on a real experience of a lifetime. Agreed by all 5 of us. Having made plans to meet with our son in South Africa at the end of his gap year, and in spite of living there (admittedly quite a few years ago), with only a few weeks to go I was struggling to put together the type of itinerary that I knew would work for us as a family. I chanced upon Far and Wild in an article in a travel magazine and decided to go against my normal independent traveller mindset and try a travel agency. Alistair was brilliant and worked together with me to put together a package when many of the hotels were already fully booked for the season. We met our son at Jo'burg airport and went on to have a great family holiday discovering new places and revisited some old. I've already recommended Far and Wild to a couple of friends and feel sure that I will use them again when we are next going off the beaten track.

Thanks to Lucy and Louise myself and my daughter were able to fulfil a dream we have had for quite a few years? with all their help and guidance we were able to experience a holiday of a lifetime by visiting the Island St. Helena it also included a week in Cape Town. The whole trip from start to finish was brilliant we got to see all of the Island thanks to Aaron's Tours, what a lovely young man whose knowledge of the Island was incredible. The Hotel's we stayed in were excellent and all the different stayovers between places had been set up by Lucy which made it all run smoothly.
I will definately be using Far & Wild Travel again in the future.

Our trip to Botswana, Zambia and South Africa was simply incredible from start to finish. Lucie listened to what we were hoping to experience and provided us with exactly that in a series of amazing locations. Safari in Sable Alley and Linyanti in Botswana, a chill-out lodge on the Zambezi in Zambia (with a brief visit to Zimbabwe via zip-wire across the Victoria Falls!), as well as time in Jo'burg and Capetown (Camps Bay) were all wonderful - we saw and experienced all that we'd hoped to and more. There were tears of happiness and awe several times - who wouldn't cry if they drove through the Botswana bush, then crested a hill and dropped down into the marshes to suddenly see approx 300 beautiful ellies and 250 buffalo spread out in front of you? Or be able to watch a mumma rhino snuggle with her calf in Zambia?! Not to mention the lions, leopards, warthog, zebra, giraffe, hyena and so much more! Lucie's attention to detail was impressive; particularly when our outbound BA flight was delayed, which messed up the multiple connections we had to make. We let Lucie know while we were on the flight and by the time we'd landed a few hours later, she had liaised with multiple partners on the ground to reschedule all our connections, making sure we got to Sable Alley as soon as was physically possible - it was seamless. We had a truly epic trip and cannot thank Lucie enough for using her extraordinary passion and knowledge of Africa to put such an amazing itinerary together.
Our return trip is already in planning. Thank you so so much Lucie. ❤️

For a trip we have been dreaming about for years and putting off for one reason or another, the online choice was always overwhelming. An opportunity came up for a last minute trip for a Safari, following a friends recommendation we were introduced to Lucie. After one quick phone call explaining our 'needs' and 'wants', she provided an itinerary that met with all of them.
The trip was exceptional, everyday a 'pinch-me' moment! I couldn't recommend the service enough.

After struggling for many months to know where to start booking our holiday to Kenya on my own, someone recommended Far & Wild. From then on it was a breeze. My husband and I told Ben what we were looking for and he understood the brief immediately and within a few days it was all booked. We had a 2 week adventure with our 12 and 10 year old visiting Nairobi, The Masai Mara, Laikipia, and Lamu. We all thought the holiday was amazing -a real trip of a lifetime. Far & Wild have a great app which details everything you need to know about your holiday which was really useful even when we were offline in Kenya. The team were also on hand while we were away to answer any questions we had. You really get the personal touching the trip was very child friendly. Definitely recommend.

We were so incredibly lucky to travel around Africa for 6.5 weeks in July & August 2023. We cannot recommend Alistair & Louise at Far & Wild enough. Their knowledge, organisational skills, calmness and being on hand to answer any questions throughout our holiday were incredible.

We covered lots of different things, Safari drives and walking safari in Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia self drive, chilling on the beaches in Manda Bay & Mozambique. All of this with a 14, 12 and 7 year old. The team made us feel at ease with everything we were taking on, even the things outside our comfort zone. Nothing was too much trouble and we will be using them for future family adventures.
