British Academy of Fashion Design Reviews 

I am currently doing the Higher National Certificate home study and I am so pleased with my experience up until now! My tutor, Patricia, is very helpful, always answers any questions I have very quickly and explains the assignments very well. The only thing that takes a little more time is the grading, but this is usually not any longer than a week which is definitely not a problem but sometimes tricky when you’re on a time crunch. I am very happy with my experience at BAFD and would definitely recommend!

I had a great experience because the tutors are always ready to answer any questions I have and they are also very prompt and detailed when explaining things which I did not understand earlier.
Also, the feedback is always very detailed, encouraging me for my areas of good practice while also pointing out the areas where I need to improve in order to excel further.
I am very glad that I chose British Academy of Fashion Design when I decided to Study Fashion and Designing because it has been an exciting experience starting from the very helpful Student Services Team, to my Classroom teachers and Tutors who have supported me all the way.

Is good but very challenging, the course brings the best out of you with rigorous research…is not for the weak!

I had a great experience with post graduate diploma. The tutors provided invaluable feedback that pushed my creativity, and the support from Student Services was excellent throughout my journey. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to develop their design skills and industry knowledge.

So far studying at The British Academy of Fashion Design has been incredible! My tutor is so knowledgeable and always responds to any questions I may have very quickly! I am really really enjoying my course, and love being able to interweave art into what I create! I can’t wait to see what I can create by the time I graduate!

Prior to booking the course I spoke to customer services who were very helpful and even followed up a couple of days later to make sure they'd covered everything. The booking process was very easy online.

In the weeks leading up to the course I found student services responded very quickly to any questions. At one point I couldn't add my student card to my apple wallet, sent some screen shots and the issue was resolved within 48 hours.

I've now had my first face to face lesson which was excellent. Deborah has a wealth of knowledge and makes sure to include everyone regardless of level of understanding/previous experience. I've reached out to my personal online tutor Patricia by email and again very responsive.

Really looking forward to the rest of the course.

Updated March 2025. Now a few weeks into the course I have to give the top rating as the content and delivery of the face to face lessons is excellent. Support from online tutor and student services has also been very helpful with quick responses. Happy to highly recommend.

I have been emailing back and forth with so many questions that any person would have regarding a course they’re interested in, and every response has been written with such kindness and genuine care that it has made me even more excited to start. Not to mention how quickly they get back to you as well. It has been a great first impression and introduction for me!

I’m finding this course to be very interesting. It has offered a healthy challenge that has pushed me to grow academically and as an artist. While I occasionally find the workload demanding and the material a bit intense, it has ultimately been a very positive learning experience.

What really stands out are the tutors—they are all excellent! Their support, dedication, and approachable nature make a significant difference in navigating the challenges of the course.

While it can feel overwhelming at times, the structure and the team behind the course make it worthwhile.

I would definitely recommend the academy to whoever wants to learn or improve their knowledge on fashion design.

wonderful course precise useful

I signed up to the postgraduate diploma course and was working my way through the introduction, when I learned that I was about to lose my job. I contacted the academy and Alistair picked up my email. It took a little longer than expected for my refund to come through (I was inside the 14 day cooling off period) but my experience of customer service exceeded all of my expectations. Even with something as delicate as this situation, Alistair was delighted to work the situation through with. He remained polite, extremely courteous which left me feeling seen, heard and understood. There are a number of companies who's customer service skills could do well to use this shining example as a model moving forward.

I am hoping to resume my studies once I have found alternative employment and things settle financially. But for now, let me just reassure you how brilliant the Fashion Design Academy is, how professional and courteous their customer service is and how fabulous their course content is. I only looked at the intro, but it was packed with solid information, guidance and resources. The best home-study course I've ever enrolled on. I will be back!
(They also offer live online classes and in-person classes, homes study just suited me better due to work ironically. If finances had been secure, I would have stayed and done in-person). Depending how job searching goes, I might just do that! Superb service through and through. I can't praise them enough. 👏 👏👏👏

I'm working on the first unit, I really like the contents, but I specially like the assignments because they really help you develop essential skills for fashion design. I think there should be a video tutorial for the mini mannequin. 4.6/5

Staff are always helpful and quick to respond!

Don’t waste your money here. They change the way the provide you feedback with not notice.
I ended putting a formal complaint in line with their policy and never was answered in line with their policy.
They have treated me awful, like I don’t know how to read. It has affected my mental health how they have deal with this situation… I felt discriminated and overwhelmed. Please try to find somewhere else better than this place. I have 2 BTEC and 1 degree and I never was treated in such bad way. My integrity as a person has been attacked in multiple times in the last month.

They are always there to help with any questions and their response are quick too. Their advice and feedback are good which encourage me to go further in my learning.

I am glad I can speak and be attended to without delays. A very understanding company that aims to helping me get to the best version of myself in this career path

My experience so far with the course is great, fantastic and enjoyable. The staff have been really helpful, kind, thoughtful and I am really enjoying my time here. I recommend all of the individuals who wish to pursue their ambitions and dreams into the fashion world to approach this website. With this it has helped me become more confident, giving me courage and knowledge.

The contents of the course are very well structured and the support from the tutors and the advisors is excellent. I highly recommend the British Academy of Fashion Design.

I thoroughly enjoyed working in the assignments within the diploma and learned a great deal. I was entirely self-sufficient throughout, relying on the resources provided. On occasion I struggled to understand the feedback and what I needed to do to satisfy the requirements, which was why I didn't give 5*. I would recommend the course and am glad I chose it.

I really appreciate the support and guidance given throughout the assignments and the valuable feedback received after each and every assignment was effective to broaden up your knowledge.
