Very Poor Customer Service.

For a premium tool company there service is total un acceptable.

I thought the last problem was a one off.

I returned my item for repair on there website it has clear delivery and collection details address were the same.

I was notified my items was being returned just over 2 weeks after being received. But then 4 working days later is still not arrived !

I called them asking where it was and they said they had the wrong delivery address but they has not email to say they has an issue - it took a phone call to find this out. If i had not made the phone call how much longer would i have waited ?

Premium tools, disappointing service when it matters

I have invested heavily in Festool tools over the years (around £10,000) and always considered the brand to be premium, both in product quality and professional service.

Unfortunately, my recent experience with Festool UK service was very disappointing. I received written confirmation of a next-working-day collection for a repair. I waited two working days, but no collection took place and there was no proactive communication, update, or alternative plan provided.

The courier eventually attended at a later date, but by that point I had already been forced to take the tool back to work due to business commitments. The core issue was not the courier, but the lack of ownership and accountability from Festool when a clear service commitment was missed.

I raised this directly with Festool and gave them the opportunity to resolve the matter. After an initial response, no further reply was provided.

What disappointed me most was not the delay itself, but the way the complaint was handled. Responsibility was deflected, and no acknowledgement of service failure or goodwill was offered.

For a brand positioned at the premium end of the professional market, this level of service does not match the price or expectations. I expected better.

Electrocuted by Festool

Don't ever buy a festool tool. Truly the worst company on earth.
I had a festool track saw and as with a lot of festool tools the power lead is a separate item to the tool itself. If you look at the end of the power cable it has a spigot (concealing the power wires themselves) that plugs into the tool. I had unplugged the lead from the tool NOT KNOWING THE SPIGOT HAD BROKEN AND REMAINED IN THE TOOL (excuse capitals). When I attempted to reconnect the lead I received an extremely nasty shock, resulting in three visits to hospital due to concerns about it affecting my heart rate.
Festool basically tried to ignore me and showed no interest in addressing a serious design flaw that could kill someone ... the spigot should not break so easily.
Festool UK were so dismissive I then contacted Festool Germany. They attempted to ignore me initially. Then eventually they engaged and made comforting corporate noises but repeatedly asked what the problem was, having been told a dozen times.
In the end I asked them what they thought the problem was, emphasising that they had been repeatedly informed. They never acknowledged the precise nature of my complaint, no doubt the result of some myopic legal euro-advice.
In the meantime their life threatening tools are bring sold all over the world ... including Russia just in case you want to see the moral fibre of these people.
Never again. The worst design. No respect for their lowly ex-customers. The worst customer service on planet earth. Please don't buy a Festool, their tools are a liability.

Festool Repair – Quoting for Parts That Don’t Need Replacing

Sent my CTM extractor in and got quoted £330. The motor—fair enough. But they also claimed the screen was “damaged.” Odd, since it was working perfectly.

I asked twice what the issue was—got ignored. Then I’m told the engineer “can’t remember now” and it “could be the internal connection but that’s not 100%.” Not exactly confidence-inspiring.

Then the story shifts—suddenly it’s not the screen, it’s the “electronics linked to the screen.” Convenient.

I declined the repair immediately, bought a motor on eBay, fitted it myself—and surprise: everything works. Screen, Bluetooth, buttons—all spot on. Been running flawlessly for over 3 weeks now.

So let’s be honest—they tried to charge me to replace a part that didn’t need replacing. And they know it. Not what you expect from a premium brand.

Great tools inexcusable warranty practices

We love our Festool tools and have a big collection including three drills, a sander, a dust extractor, a plunge saw, a jigsaw, the fully kitted work table and I'm sure I've missed a few.

We usually get exceptional service but this time I feel I need to call out the extremely poor service. I bought one of the drills a little over two years ago, during kitchen renovations last year the gearing died and I sent it in. Since it's under 3 years old I was expecting it to be covered by the extended warranty.

Instead I get a bill for over £120 to fix it. Upon inquiry into why it wasn't covered under warranty I'm told I didn't register the warranty in time. Now this is not a case of waiting until a failure to register my drill. Just it wasn't done in the precise timeframe expected by Festool.

I'm flabergasted that in this day in age that a company like Festool would have such a policy to DENY warranty where a customer clearly purchased their product and requested repair within the valid warranty period. I find this inexcusable.

Well done Festool and turning off an avid promoter of your brand. Makita, DeWalt, and Milwakee here we come.

Poor quality EarPods

I purchased these for my son for Xmas present as he uses Festool products in his workshop so he thought these specially designed EarPods for workshop would be as good quality. The first EarPods stopped working less than 6 months after purchase, which were replaced. Now the second one has stopped working. Not impressed at all.
