I sent my availability to First Choice Coleraine, and instead of offering me shifts, they went ahead and booked me in without asking; without consulting or consent. There was absolutely no communication before they assigned me to a shift I never agreed to. When I contacted their head office in Belfast to question this, I was told this is ‘just how they work’, which basically means they assume consent and skip basic communication. This is far below the standard of conduct I would expect from a professional agency. My concerns were brushed aside, and the attitude on the phone was defensive rather than helpful. I removed myself from their books because I’m not willing to deal with an agency that auto‑books people without consent, without communication, and then tries to normalise it.
