A very poor customer experience
What a scam! They make the charge appear as monthly but you have to scroll way down the page to see that you need to pay 12 months up front. Many other posters here confirm this.
I accidentally let the trial period lapse and once I noticed the charge on my bank account I immediately tried to cancel and get the money refunded.
I would have expected some kind of reminder email just before being charged but this did not occur.
With any other company in the past where I have made an accidental purchase this wouldn't be an issue but this company had absolutely no intention of refunding any of my money or helping me at all.
I've never met a company with such little compassion or concern for their customers. I've now paid for 12 months of access I basically will never use again!
I really wish I would have found this thread before using this service at all as I would NOT have signed up at all! The overwhelming number of one star reviews and bad customer experiences speaks volumes as to the kind of company this is.
I assume they will reply with some smug rubbish after this post but do yourself a favour and ignore it.

You can also switch to a monthly plan during the free trial to avoid yearly charges.
This is the reason, why we offer our trial, that you can test our service and decide, if you want to keep it or cancel it. Our apologies, that you have missed this opportunity and cancelled too late.

Wish I could give them 0 stars. Total scammers. Signed up for free trial and was unable to cancel. Couldn’t log in, couldn’t get through on the phone. When I finally managed to get through on the phone they told me that even though I had been unable to use the service due to not being able to log in, they would charge me anyway. I’ve never experienced this in my life. Appalling service, constantly bombarding me with threatening emails and I finally paid after they threatened me with debt collection … for a service I couldn’t even use! Absolute sham of a company and I wish I hadn’t been bullied into paying for something I was never able to use.

Hello, we thank you for your review. You can clearly see during registration, what your chosen plan costs and will be charged for them. You can also choose a monthly plan with monthly payments. It is also possible during the free trial to change your plan into a monthly one or simply cancel it before the extension.
During registration it has to be confirmed, that the free trial will be automatically renewed, if you do not cancel it. You choose a payment method too, which should be saved and confirmed too. It is not possible at all to register without these steps.
After all we inform you during registration and afterward in e-mail from all of these details. Our apologies, if you did not cancel your free trial in time.
Should you have any further question to your contract, our support team is happy to help you.

A disgusting rubbish company. If you don't pay after the trial period ends, not only your account will be suspended. Instead, they will send your debt to a debt collection company.

I still say it's a filthy scumbag company. I don't even know why I paid 132 Euros. They hired a debt collection company. Disgusting. In this case, other service providers terminate the contract. . Because they can. I don't even know what they sell or what it's all about. I am disgusted by them.

You can also check this in your e-mails, as we have already inform our customers several times after the renewal, if your invoice was open. I probably open an account on freediscussion srl and did not read that there will be a bill at the end of a trial days. I was not used their service, I was not interest of what they do. I don't even remember of my login, my password. Now they claim for an amount, by a company mandated by them (atriga). Beware !!!!

I notice people here complaining about being billed after the free trial period. I had the same experience and found myself unable to cancel the subscription within the 14 day free trial period as I didn't have a customer number, which is required in the cancellation process. Subsequently 99 euros were taken from my account at the end of the free trial period. However, I immediately flagged this with the company who swiftly then refunded the payment. I also then found that the email notifying me of my customer number at the start of the trial period had gone into my spam folder which I hadn't noticed. Mea culpa. So, fair do's - they had sent me the number, and they did refund the fee when asked. No complaints.

Unpleasant Experience with FreeDiscussions Subscription and Harassment
I recently had an unpleasant experience with FreeDiscussions, where I discovered there was an undisclosed commitment, automatic subscription renewal without prior notice, and I am now being asked to pay for a full year, even though I have never used the application. This has left me dissatisfied and frustrated with their subscription policy and lack of transparency.

You have also the possibility during the free trial, that you simply cancel it and than no renewals will happen. You can also cancel directly after registration on several ways if you were not sure to use our service or not. You can read all of the conditions during and after the registration in our terms and conditions. Thank you for your understanding.
Was Usenet.nl 100% scam
This website was usenet.nl but has 95% 1 star reviews as is a scam website. They have changed their name to freediscussions.com but the terms and conditions etc still say usenet.nl half the time. Complete scam. Any 5 star ratings here must be fake. Do not pay anything for subscriptions from them and any files you thought you could download won't exist.

The first free trial period is also free of charge and this is the best opportunity to test our service and simply cancel it if you did not want to use it in the future.
You also receive every month an e-mail, that you have received your new data volume which can remember you that you still have an active contract with us.
If your invoice has not been paid we also notice our customer several times and in time to close the payment without any other issues or costs.
