It's taking a little longer to get up and running with the foreign exchanges than I'd expected after I'd selected a few that I thought showed the most promise.
Living in Thailand has proven a little difficult to find a bank statement for proof of address since these don't exist in this country and, as I writwe this, I still await receipt of these documents (snail mail, I'm afraid) in the UK.
It occurred toi me that those with the most onerous requirements may be more reliable - read: lower risk- than opthers that just want stuff scanned and sent as email attachments, especially as I'm intending exchanging well into five figures. But no hurry here, as it happens, since the local housing market is getting better by the day!
But the comparison website hasn't been as straighforward as I might have preferred since one of the best rates quoted (Travelex is still up there) redirects one to another foreign exchange (UKforex) where the rate using the calculkator there is significantly lower, However, a guarantee to provide the best rate may get what I need. Most important to get the very best rate as a tiny difference can mean hundreds of pounds!

Good service, I got several quotes, compared and the values in the results were close to what I finally paid, probably because of currency fluctuations.

If you are looking for a one-off money transfer overseas, this is a great resource. I heard back from several companies very quickly and was able to transfer my money in a short amount of time.

Just works well. Needed to ring up to find how to pay - not as clear as could be on website, but answer the phone quickly and were very friendly.

Good product, but annoying that bank fees are charged converting into $NZ

Went through fx compared before changing a lump sum into euros for building work. Ended up with my usual company but got the promotional deal! Happy to receive the best rate offered at the time and all with one click of a button, rather than trawling through sites or telephoning loads of companies. Certainly will use this site again and would recommend to anybody without reservation.

Comparison is very good, but should take account of other major players also, like Global Currency Exchange, Smart Money
