I subscribed early March £12 for 6…
I subscribed early March £12 for 6 issues- 1st due before 1st April (May issue). rang customer services, told wait til next Tuesday, then again told wait til following Monday, again wait til Friday - now say they will send a replacement but still not received. Hopefully subscription has been cancelled (got e mail to confirm) but will see when September comes. Feels like a scam. Doubt I’ll get the £12 back if I complain.
Still have not received a single copy
Purchased a gift subscription for my mother over two months ago, still not received a single issue. Contacted customers services when overdue, was told to wait, contacted again, said they would send out a replacement which could take up to two weeks. Two weeks gone so contacted again, they will send another replacement but have to wait another two weeks before they consider it lost! The next issue will already be out - terrible service.
Avoid
As mentioned by another reviewer, cancellation of a subscription seems to be impossible. After having previously received confirmation of cancellation from GW and a stop placed on the company by my bank, further payment has been taken as a result of Buysubscriptions changing its name to Immediatemedia. Avoid.
Never received the Magazines
Took the £12 for the subscription I signed up to (6 issues) Never received the magazines - rang them and he promised to send out the two missing mags never received then rang again and got a totally different answer. They tried to make me subscribe again but I said no - just refund the £12 - I have a feeling I will not receive this back. This was Multimedia I went through. AVOID
Awful customer service
Awful customer service! Missing 2x issues, then had 2x issues with no seeds (which they’re meant to have (February and March). They say they’ll sort it then they never do.
I will not be subscribing again. Customer service based in South Africa.
I've never received my subscription and…
I've never received my subscription and every time I ring I'm told they'll escalate my enquiry and nothing happens.
I ordered it at the beginning of December 2025 and this last phone call was today 19 January 2026.
it's gone Woke so Goodbye.
Cannot cancel subscription…
Cannot cancel subscription via the online account. Customer Service unhelpful/stopped responding to emails about the problem. I don't know if the subscription has been cancelled before renewal. I'd recommend anyone to reconsider a subscription to these people.
I thought Gardeners' World was a BBC brand, how come the BBC let these people drag the brand into a negative territory ?!
Customer service is dreadful
Customer service is dreadful. Website hasn't worked properly for at least 6 months. They keep saying they're working on it. Paid for subscription last year but couldn't access Premium Content. My husband renewed my subscription as Xmas present for 2026 but unable to find out my new subscription number.
No star at all
No star at all. Subscription was done in September. Payment transfered in full. Never received any regular print issue of the magazine despite full payment for it.
I got one replacement as a gesture of "good will" Since than, nothing changed. Requests are not answered. Cancellation not possible. It is unbelievable how the treat their customers. This is simply fraud.
The Police should investigate these people
Trying to cancel a subscription is impossible. The phone is never answered and I cannot find an on-line way to cancel. If the BBC is involved in this magazine subscription or even if it is not, they also need to sort this out as it is clearly a scam that reflects on them.
Massive Scam - Avoid at all costs!
Once you subscribe you are unable to cancel - the phone line doesn't get answered and the web account has been disabled by them changing the login info.
This is a massive scam as once you are in you can't get out - like a cult!
We tried cancel a year ago but they kept taking payments, they ignore requests by letter and don't bother answering the phone.
The bank have tried to help with blocking the payment but they change their name so it doesn't get blocked. The only way out is seemingly to close the account they are taking money from and wait for them to contact you! This really is a rubbish scheme so please avoid at all costs! you have been warned.
I used to like watching this programme…
I used to like watching this programme but have noticed it's got too snobbish. It seems to focus on people who have enormous gardens somewhere in the countryside and enormous houses too!
What about the rest of us who live in more modest homes and have a small piece of garden? There are also people living in flats who may have a window box? I need to watch a more realistic type of gardening programme where I don't feel inadequate!
Gardeners World constantly reports on…
Gardeners World constantly reports on grand gardens around London or further south. Hello GW, people in the Midlands and the North and Scotland have gardens too!
Depressing Magazine
I have just received my first ever copy of Gardeners’ World magazine and although there were some good tips, I found it utterly depressing.
The ads are heavily weighted towards much older people - Velcro sandals, mobility scooters, fall alarm watch, simple button mobile phone with grandchildren on the list and grey haired friend, incontinence pants (first page) joint pain supplements and lightweight tools for less fatigue. Just who is this magazine for? If Monty is to be believed that since 1990, younger people are taking up gardening, then this magazine is not representative of this. Please add some balance so all can enjoy what could be an enjoyable and informative read.
GARDENER'S WORLD ONLINE SITE
Applied for an online membership to Gardeners World. Set up an account or so I thought. When I try to sign in, the reply tells me my Email is invalid as a character after the "@"sign is never allowed.
Having only had this email account name for over 40 years, with no questions regarding a valid email name, I must try and keep up more. Gardeners World are now informing me there is no such account. Actually, rather than wasting more time, I am considering telling them to stuff their online program which seems to have been designed by Total Muppets.
I have missed Monty Don on Gardeners…
I have missed Monty Don on Gardeners World on 2nd May 2025, the programme was not very interesting and not very informative regarding the gardening side. Please bring back Monty Don ASAP, he’s the only interesting and understandable person I can understand and makes gardening enjoyable.
In June 2023 I got a mail that there…
In June 2023 I got a mail that there was a problem with the post and that I meanwhile could read the magazine on line. Since then no more magazines (only mails)
Honestly I forgot already I had to receive printed editions… until now an amount of 75,50 euro for the next year (as from febr 2024) was taken from my account. Very expensive for some mails. I looked for contactdetails … No mail/tel nr. On the contact formular one can only let them know that ‘1’ edition was missing. So watch out….
Disappointing
I ordered a subscription in October, received December copy and now it’s mid January and no further issues have been received. I emailed customer service who promptly replied to say a new copy would be sent out. 6 days later and nothing. Very disappointed in Gardener’s World
Rude and unhelpful customer service.
I ordered a magazine subscription on 28th November that included free sacueters for my dad's Christmas present. I was not aware the payment wouldn't be taken the day I brought it (I thought it was taken straight out of my account just like any other payment would). Instead they tried to take the payment 3 and a half weeks later without notice. The payment failed as I didn't know it would be coming out my account. When I phoned to sort it out the woman on the other end of the line was unbelievably rude and unhelpful. She kept asking me for a code - which I haven't received and didn't know what she was talking about. Instead of allowing me to pay and reissue what I had ordered she tried to give me a different subscription which is not what my dad wanted for Christmas. I am now left with no present 3 days before Christmas. I can't get over how rude and unhelpful this woman was the only thing I'm gutted about is not knowing her name to report it.
