Garden Machines Ltd has been trading in Kingsthorpe Hollow Northampton since 1962. The high street site has actually been selling garden equipment from the early 1930’s under the name Staughtons, who eventually set up Garden Machines as a sister Company. We are stockist for the majority of the leading brands of garden machinery and related equipment. The businesses current owners took over in 1972, and now second and third generations are involved in the day to day running of the Company. As with many high street stores, we realise that the way customers want to purchase and research their products has changed over the years and there is a real need to embrace the Internet; whilst very importantly still holding on to our core business values: Honesty, Dependability, Respect, Passion. Thank you for taking the time to visit our web site and look forward to supporting you with your requirements, your business is very much appreciated . Please feel free to contact us through enquiries@gardenmachinesltd.co.uk if you need any further information on any of the products/services that we supply

I wish I’d never given them my money

I wish I’d never given them my money! Purchased an Stihl BR800 and Apparently they’ve this week changed from using DPD to now using APC, who have been absolutely useless! For a high value item that requires a signature i needed to be home. I called garden machines to absolutely confirm dispatch and delivery! This was confirmed and I took a day off work to receive the item. It never arrived. Apparently due to a dispatch error with APC. Apologised and assured me it would be delivered by 10:30 the next day to ensure I don’t lose 2 full days of work! It’s now gone 10:30 and I’m being told that APC had an unfortunate vehicle break down this morning and they’re having to bring in another vehicle just for me (Bulls**t) and it won’t be with me until around 12:00 noon!! So I have indeed now lost 2 days work and nothing more than ‘we are sorry’
My advice would be to use Sam Turner who’ve delivered my chainsaw next day without any issues at all.
If you can’t get a courier to do the only thing they’re paid to do, ship the package to the customer! You’re not going to have many customers left! It’s cost me nearly as much in lost earnings to receive this as it did to purchase it and that’s simply unacceptable!

Edit: in response to your reply. To clarify, I confirmed ahead of time, TWICE! That my delivery would be coming on that day and you confirmed with certainty it would so I would take the day off to receive the package as it had to be signed for. Your apc sales manager did call me and confirmed there was an issue and he would call me back in 20 mins. This was in fact 90 mins. He called me to tell me that I could collect myself from their depot otherwise it would have to be next day. To which I commented ‘this is fu*king ridiculous’ and hung up to call you! As you had made the promise of if being delivered on that day. All the apologies in the world won’t pay my bills while I’m sat at home losing money! You confirmed a by 10:30 am a delivery for the next day at the absolute latest and claimed to have stressed that the earlier the better as I needed to get to work and couldn’t afford to take a second day off work unpaid. Fast forward to 10:30 and nothing arrived. Apparently a vehicle breakdown forced the delay which I highly doubt and a specialist vehicle was to be bought in for my delivery and it would arrive by 11:30 at the absolute latest! It didn’t! It arrived at 12:05 after not being collected from the depot until 11:15! The cctv on my front door captured me leaving for work at 11:30 and the courier arriving at 12:05! The specialist courier bought in for the mythical breakdown could have been bought in on the day before and saved any of these issues! As a new customer to you this was beyond disappointing and one which cost me 1.5 days earnings. Something which, regardless of your guarantees which were never met! I have no way of recouping! If apc can’t deliver on time and provide the tracking and customer support in the first week with them, chances are they’re not going to get any better! I certainly won’t be back!

Hi Mr Morris, we are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience with your order, as you have put in your feedback, we had switched couriers that week and a system input error on our account had caused the order to not be booked on for that days delivery. This is something that has now been rectified but did cause an issue with all deliveries on that day.

Our account manager at APC contacted you directly first thing that morning to apologise and he was sworn at and told to f*ck off, this was our first day using this courier. Unfortunately there were no available vans to get your parcel to you that day as they had all left the depot, you were provided with the depot details if you wished to collect from there you requested we order a taxi to get the parcel to you. The order was upgraded to a before 10:30 am the next day but this was pushed to approximately 11:30 by which time you weren't at the property and the delivery was refused.

Again, we can only apologise, we shipped the order in good faith to be with you the next day, events arose out of our control and our customer service team did all they could to find a solution within our means.
