I would strongly suggest staying away…

I would strongly suggest staying away from this company, if you’d like to avoid the same aggravation I experienced this past weekend. I purchased a ring camera doorbell installation, booked my appointment for this past Saturday, & they provided me with an arrival time window of 7:15am 10:15am the day before. I wait about 20 mins after 10:15 am in hopes that my assigned technician would have the courtesy to reach out & let me know what was going on. There’s no way to contact them directly or track them, btw. Calling the “customer service” number on the website, was another ordeal. Waited 25 mins to get a representative who was perhaps overseas and had a hard time understanding me. At this point I tell them my technician is a no call, no show and I’d like to cancel the service, since I think it’s extremely disrespectful to play with people’s time, especially when I’m paying a hefty price for my service. After 15 mins of going back and forth, the representative assures me that they’d cancel the appointment, reverse my charge, and that they would reach out to the technician. At about 2:20PM the said technician has the audacity to message me, (4 hours later) “apologizing” for the delay, and letting me know that he was 30-45 minutes away. I was astounded to say the least by the lack of professionalism. Today I see that the charge was posted to my account, was not reversed, the customer service representative LIED, and now I have to contact my credit company to get this sorted out. Truly a nightmare.

Disappointed!

Best Buy / Geek Squad
At this moment, I could not be more disappointed.
For the second time in 3 weeks, the appointment to deliver my new TV was canceled without notice.
No phone call, text message or email to alert me of this nor give a reason. FYI: I live 12 miles from the store.
I did however, the day before each time, receive both a call and text telling me to be home to take delivery of my TV.
I've made several attempts to find out why this keeps happening. As of this moment I get no response from a human. Just recordings, Bots and on-line customer support chatters who say they can't help me.
I highly recommend you do not buy anything that you can not put in your car and take home.
Unacceptable

Worse repair service EVER

This is the first time I’ve taken a laptop to Micro Center for repairs. They had it two months and ordered the part needed.. And then almost 2 months into I find out they ordered the wrong part and the motherboard needed to be replaced for $900. So I picked it up and will never use their service again.

Paid for geeksquad protection for my cell phones for years, but it's all a money grab. They charge just as much as a mobile repair store front to replace screens, so you're not saving any money, and you won't have a phone for weeks since it has to be shipped across the country. Fun fact, they don't fix cellphones in person, only laptops.
Second, when you try to cancel a service request, they tell you they cancelled it and you'll be refunded, but they actually don't, and you have to jump to through hoops to try to get the refund.

Do not buy a TV that requires a home visit (over 43 inches from Best Buy's Geek Squad) I am waiting almost 2 months for them to come over. The first appointment was scheduled for 5 weeks away and then magcially canceled by them and they reset without my knowledge to a date when I was out of town. I regret buying from them and NEVER WILL AGAIN.

Geek Squad is a rip off

Got a geeksquad person named Amine B. On chat to help fix my email issues. Gave him all the login information etc. He either has a severe language barrier or isn't good at his job! Made things worse! Erased all of my previous emails! And got me locked out of my hosting platform! Now I'm having to pay someone to fix his mess! What a complete rip off!

I felt like I was being scammed

Yesterday, i connected to the technical support of Geek Squad as my business emails are being blocked by Gmail because of missing authentication, in particular SPF or DKIM. The GS technician told me that they can help but they will have to charge around $500 because a team will be involved in fixing the issue. He said that the complexity of the problem cannot be covered by my subscription. As I am using my business emails to connect with my clients, I was desperate and told the technician to go ahead. I allowed them remote access to my laptop but after so many minutes have passed without any hope for them resolve the issue, I told them to pause as I need my laptop for a zoom business meeting. Before I disconnected the remote, I was observing the remote agent doing his/her thing but the agent seems to be going nowhere. I then disconnected their remote access to my laptop. After my business meetings which lasted longer than I had anticipated, I decided to consult iPage technician support who is my domain host. I sent a message to their chat app and after a minute or so, their technician Gowreesha told me that he will just add DKIM to my domain's DNS record. It took Gowreesha to fix my problem all 3 minutes. 3 minutes and my problem was solved without being charged a single cent. I felt like I just was almost scammed by the BB Geek Squad out of $500 bucks. Seriously folks, Geek Squad should be disbanded and have their subscribers refunded. I have a monthly subscription for a one-time service and I cannot even unsubscribed until I have paid all 12 months. Is that even allowed or legal in Canada. Someone needs to sue this group.

They lost all my files

I bought a new desktop in January 2025. The tech said no problem transferring all my data from the old one to the new one. Guess what? NOTHING transferred! I have lost so many files. Fortunately I had just moved all of my photos to a thumb drive but didn't believe it was necessary to download all my other files.
Best Buy said they could send my old hard drive out to see if anything could be recovered but if the outside company found anything the transfer would start at $300. We bought a laptop, a desktop and two iPads the least they could do is cover the cost. But nothing was offered. Never take them a computer without backing up your files first.

yearly insurance is a waste of money..

We had taken insurance paying $190 for a year. When we went to ask if they can help with GPS installation on our new corolla, they said they will charge per hour to install. This is unfair.
No specific coverage description available for the yearly insurance???

Just don't

If they try to sell you an extended warranty - run and run fast. It's a scam. They won't mention the service fee that is charged for them to do anything to the device. The fee is hidden on page 18 of the terms and conditions and is required to submit any service request. I need a new battery for my phone. It's cheaper to buy it from their retail outlet than to do it via their warranty.

Scammer business

I paid a monthly price for phone coverage and got hit with a $200 bill to fix my phone after it broke. Then they sent me a refurbished one that screen split down the side that same day I recieved it. Wanted to charge me another $200 for another replacement. So I purchased a new phone with new coverage and they continued to charge me a separate device coverage on the broken phone I no longer used and refuse to refund me.
This company is an absolute scam do NOT use.

What a BS scam of a company

What a BS scam of a company. I paid 21$ a month for coverage on my S23 Ultra phone that I purchased from best buy... I have 4 mths left on my contract when I broke my screen (with screen protection film) ofourse it was my fault but I was told it didn't matter geek squad would still fix it. I'm a self employed blue collar worker so I got the Geek Squad coverage. So, today I took my phone into best buy to discuss how we go about fixing or replacing my phone. He tells me they have to mail my phone out for repair and I have to pay a 300$ deductible...HUh? I told him my entire business revolves around my phone and I could not go even a single day without it. He said I could wait for them to send me another phone 1st but I'd have to leave a 2000$ deposit for the loaner, then once I got it, send my phone out for repair.. Whaaaaat? I quickly looked on Facebook and quickly found that I could buy the same phone used without a broken screen for 300-500$.... Never again. If it's too good to be true.. don't do it.

I called geek squad to come out to my…

I called geek squad to come out to my residence and repair a laptop and to make sure my printer was working with it. Well they made an appointment for printer setup nothing about a laptop after i told the person on the phone several times it was a laptop. The appointment was made for them to come out between the hours 12pm and 4pm. Never received a call like they said i would the day b4 to tell me the time window. I have insomnia and don't sleep at night thats why I requested after 12pm well i got woke up by a message that the time had been moved to 9 am so i called very frustrated and told them that I would have to reschedule the appointment. I called and rescheduled the appointment and again they set up the appointment for a printer set up and again it was supposed to be after 12pm.Well never got a call about the time window like they said i would so they showed up at 9am and the door bell woke me up i was told they were there to set up a printer ad after i told the person again over the phone it was a LAPTOP NOT A PRINTER. After telling the person that came out that they were supposed to be here after 12pm they told me they had no information about that so i had to reschedule again. This time it worked out and the person that came out couldn't do anything for the laptop and told me that he couldn't detect the hard drive witch it was a 4 year old laptop and I knew that something was wrong because I couldn't get it to recover with the recovery usb i had made when they came out and set it up for me. So I bought a new laptop on 1/21/25. I have a best buy total
membership and geek squad support came with the purchase. So after receiving my order I called to make an appointment for them to come out and set it up and remove some stuff that comes pre-installed like I did the last one and ask them to make the appointment after 12pm well the person on the phone said they couldn't do that witch I couldn't understand why when the other appointments were made after 12pm and he wasn't the friendliest person to talk to but I put up with it. I never disrespected him or anything like that and again I ask why couldn't the appointment be made from 12pm to later that day and again he told me they couldn't do that and I would receive a phone call the day b4 my appointment and they would let me know what time they would be out to my residence and I told him if it was going to be early that I would have to reschedule but he didn't care. He didn't say that but I could tell he didn't care that I'm disabled and have health problems and insomnia and don't get to sleep around 6am almost every morning and I go to bed around 9pm every night. I'm just very let down how bad there inhome service has gotten when I had made an appointment a couple of weeks ago for after 12pm and couldn't this time. The person that came out at 9am to fix the printer told me that they have been having a lot of problems but I don't understand why the coustmers should have there problem issues taken out on the coustmer it's not our fault. None of the people that came out were rude they were very nice and the one that actually came in and tried to help me I gave him 5 stars he was very respectful and kind. It just the people that you have to talk to whenever you want to make an appointment. They need to take a class on public relations or if they don't like what their job they should find another like I was told when I was younger. Well I have an appointment on 1/29/25 hope this one goes right. I'll be sure to leave a review about the appointment coming up. Sorry so long but it's just not right whenever you pay 160.00 to set up a laptop and and can't make the time frame after 12pm.

They will deceive you into…

They will deceive you into subscription. The didn't provide the service requested, deceived, burnt my hard drive, and after talking and referred to 4 different agents, they refused to refund and brushed the issues under the carpet
Update: I talked to branch manager and they asked me to bring the laptop again. 2 days later, I was informed it needs a new motherboard. I went home, applied cleaning commands, and now works perfectly.

The geek squad is a joke

The geek squad is a joke. said they could expand my hard drive in 1.5-2 hours. Sold me microsoft 11 pro and now computer will not even boot up. Three times they have said they were sending a flash drive to fix it but nothing after two weeks. I had to buy a new computer. I have the FBI investigating them. Save your money and take your computer to a real computer shop.

They put the geek in geek squad

My computer was running extremely slowly & freezing frequently. I had had a pleasant experience with a couple of years ago, so tried them again. Was told they no longer come to the home, so I had to bring it in to a store or have some one work on it remotely. I am disabled and have no way of taking it in. Wasted an afternoon while the techie was allegedly fixing it. Was just as bad after. Complained, and had a second one work on it with the same result
