Efficient job. After 8 years we finally got round to having GBarnsdale change a kitchen window from static to opening. Bob Holstead the fitter did an excellent job, and the price was reasonable too. The 31 replacement doors & windows we had back in 2016 are still going strong, with no repainting necessary. Impressive.

Apart from the lovely lady at reception an experience left wanting.
Senior management did not return our calls.
Product design (handle is poorly placed, making door openings harder and potentially damage the frame when turning they key)
Product advice in terms of fixing the door frame to substrate lacks expertise let alone interest to provide a solution.
Amongst other issues (missing elements such as care kit, hinge issue) our new door had a production fault and a replacement panel was meant to take nearly two weeks to be sent out.
For the (high) price G Barnsdale offer way too little after/product care.
Will not be having more units from this company.

George Barnsdale supplied some large bespoke timber windows for my barn conversion 3 years ago. This year I noticed a problem with one or two of the glass units steaming up. One email to customer services and confirmation of exactly which panels resulted in new units being ordered and Bob coming out to replace them. Excellent service.

Contacted company about a paint issue - windows still covered under their 10 year guarantee. As the windows were fitted by Barrowpier Joinery Ltd ( who are no longer running ) they would have to charge me to send a joiner out to do the work. Certainly will not be recommending George Barnsdale as they are not honouring their warranty. Still their windows regardless of who fitted them on their behalf.

My daughter recently bought a cottage and the adjustable hinges to the stable door had failed. Paperwork revealed they were fitted in 2009 and were manufactured by GB.
E mail and telephone contact revealed that the hinges were no longer available, despite a “factory search”
Pippa Richardson and team went beyond excellent customer care by offering to 3D print a converter so we could use the current design.
Hinges now replaced. Communications good throughout.

We sourced new aluminium windows from PM Windows of Grimsby (which were superb, by the way!). PM Windows recommended that we look at George Barnsdale for the manufacture of a bespoke replacement timber front door and surround. We visited the George Barnsdale factory near Spalding - it is very impressive. We asked G.B to create a door for us based on a shape and style which we had seen in the brochure of a composite door manufacturer. George Barnsdale replicated the door and surround perfectly and it looks absolutely fantastic. A word of thanks also to Terry, the fitter from PM Windows who carried out the installation - exceptional work. Many thanks to both George Barndsale and PM Windows for an amazing team effort!

The engineer knew exactly what needed to be done and did it with impressive efficiency to our complete and delighted satisfaction. Barnsdales really lived up to its reputation - their windows and doors are of top quality.

The quality and workmanship of the product is first rate and their customer service is exemplary.
We have used George Barnsdale windows for a number of properties over the last 15 years where the product is subject to harsh weather and sea conditions and they have stood the test of time. I have no hesitation at all in recommending the company and their products.

Super fast response to an issue. Engineer visit booked in within 5 minutes. Why can’t every company be like this?

Fantastic company who listened and offered solutions from when we first used them in 2008 for windows and doors for our home. The doors survived flood waters 6 years ago (2016) and are still in fantastic condition with no issues at all. We have recommended GB to many others who have all given positive feedback on products bought.

We had Barnsdale windows fitted to the front of our house 10 years ago and the rears, including 3 French door sets, 6 years ago. Quality and durability have been first class, though we did notice that the older window weather seal was becoming sticky last year. A request to their office for advice resulted in one of their fitters coming down to replace the sealant on all our windows under warranty. Both the people I spoke to on the phone were very helpful, as was the fitter who came to carry out the work. The work he did has lasted well.
We could not not be happier with George Barnsdales and would strongly recommend them.

Contacted this company in January about a window which won’t close. Now on our 4th cancelled appointment to have it fixed. Communication is rubbish ( on one of the appointments I had taken the day off work to be at home - nobody appeared and when I was eventually able to make contact I was told that it was an oversight on their part not to have contacted me to tell me that the engineer had told them in the morning that his current job would over run and to inform me. They didn’t . I rang twice that afternoon and still was not made aware). We are now 7 months waiting for this to be resolved. I would not recommend this company

who just did not want to know! she kept saying it won't be cost effective!must have said it 12 times !!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic, bi-folding doors, sliding sash windows and bespoke shape windows for our kitchen extension. They were fitted by our builders who were really impressed by the quality and how easy they were to fit. 2 years on they are still looking great and we continue to get compliments.

We got a new front door for our house in Esher. The service was excellent and the door itself was faultless. It looked great, was really solid and people regularly commented on it. We couldn’t be happier

The windows in my barn conversion had started to rot so needed to replace them. I didn’t want uPVC but I wanted quality windows that wouldn’t rot. Im really happy with what George Barnsdale have supplied. They have made a huge difference to my home, no more leaky windows, draughts or doors getting stuck when it rains.

BEWARE
This business produced the windows for the company that sold and fitted our windows Blackthorn Timber Windows and Doors North East. Whilst these guys aren’t really my main issue maybe they might think twice about their process going forward. We expected handmade wooden sash windows with a very clear specification.
What we received was windows that don’t fit and we’re painted in a shade of white that we didn’t order. We also have a sash that has been assembled incorrectly at build and should be replaced under warranty. Apparently all we can expect is for our brand new windows to be modified filled with wood filler and repainted. Then of course there is the finger pulls that someone decided to fit to all of the windows that we didn’t request, discuss or order. If you head over to Blackthorn Timber Windows and Doors I will leave a detailed review there and google reviews in a couple of days about all of my dealings. All reviews I will leave will be factual and honest so hopefully you will have a real life review to read. Anyway think twice !!

Not only is the quality of our wooden windows still outstanding after 5 years, when we noticed a small problem with the seal on one of them George Barnsdale arranged to visit, some 160 miles from their base, to put it right. Really pleased with the quality of their work, and wouldn't hesitate to give them the highest recommendation.
