Long time curious; first time buyer...
Amazing customer service. Store supervisor was really helpful. Food was delicious (and a great portion size).
Really enjoyed!
Advance SCAM!
So, In my tight financial situation, I placed an order over the GDK app with location in Reading, RG1 1EP, all charges made successfully with delivery notes added for some clarity.
GDK as they would engaged the services of uberEATS delivery, a nightmare of a pool of individuals who do not understand English enough to read the location and get to the location. I spent a good time describing to this delivery individual with a clear landmark (The ROSEATE hotel), but dude still couldn't figure despite waiting at the main entrance into the Forbury Gardens park where I was. I was stood at the gate and attempts to reach him subsequently failed.
I rang the delivery complaint number, provided order details and I got told that I can neither get my order nor a refund because the delivery attempt was made. What a night time robbery by GDK, Uber Eats delivery personnel involved.
I went further to ring GDK directly about my order and got told it was already dispatched that a 3rd party's problem. I asked what happens if the delivery attempt failed, would the order be returned or not? The lady hung up the call on me!
It should be noted that this order was fully paid for, delivery fees was charged, so was service fee charged, yet I didn't receive my order, neither did I get refund for my order ( assuming the delivery fees charged was non refundable).
Is there something I am missing here? I have been put into even more distress tonight where I have to go on working without food having come a distance of about 2hrs from home to work in Reading. I wonder how many people experience this daily?
GDK! Why?
The Turkish Kebab still rules!
Never tried a GDK so thought was the night and asked for Chicken kebab with extra chilli.
When I walked in the (empty) shop, it looked like a kebab shop with the meat slowly rotating against the grills as usual.
Took it back to my hotel room, carefully opened it, it didn't smell like a kebab.
Started eating it and after a few bites decided it wasn't a kebab.
The meat was just mush, not even a hint of chilli!
I just don't get it. These things are aweful!
I put it the the bin after just three bites!
Extremely poor customer service and disappointing complaint handling – Uxbridge branch
I recently visited the German Doner Kebab Uxbridge branch and had a very unpleasant experience.
I ordered the Original Kebab at the counter because there was a queue for the self-checkout. I paid around £11.50 (I can’t remember the exact amount). As soon as I paid, I was surprised at the price because I remembered it being cheaper on the screen deals.
I asked the colleague at the till why it was more expensive. She told me, “It’s a deal offer, that’s why.”
When I asked what the difference was, she said the deal comes with doughnuts. That made me even more frustrated because I realised I had just paid £2 more for the same meal – without any free doughnuts!
When I questioned this, she laughed and said, “Because you didn’t say deal.”
That makes absolutely no sense – she even asked if I wanted it as a meal but never mentioned that there was a deal option or that it would save money. A good colleague should have informed the customer instead of keeping quiet and letting me overpay.
Feeling tricked, I submitted a formal complaint (ticket number 537057377) explaining everything in detail.
Unfortunately, no one ever contacted me personally about it – not the branch manager, not customer service. The only response I received was a £5 voucher by email, which honestly felt like a generic reply rather than any real effort to fix the issue.
This is not about the £2 or the voucher – it’s about honesty and how customers are treated. The whole situation made me feel ignored and fooled, and it shows a lack of proper training and care. Both the manager and the checkout colleague clearly need refresher training on customer communication and fairness.
I expected much better from a brand like German Doner Kebab. If this is how they deal with unhappy customers, it’s very disappointing.
Tuba Customer service was good
Tuba Customer service was good, I enjoyed the food!
Great food good services
GDK need Quesadillas practice
So ive not had a quesadilla since leaving america in August and you know they do it properly over there. Ordered from branch in Chadwell heath. Good chicken nicely seasoned , decent portion but there was not a good even distribution of the jalapeños or onion! having staff that know how to put together meals is CRUCIAL. No complementary sauce yet i spent £10 on that alone, come on. The tortilla was not fused together, it was falling apart; NOT QUESADILLAS STYLE. Not sure why i thought the german dough balls would be freshly Made… heated up they tasted better. overall 5/10 on my first purchase.
helpful staff delvering a quick service.
Worse service!
I visited the GDK in Watford on the Parade!
Food served cold!
Spring Rolls were so cremated that I put them in an Urn to keep as a memorandum!
Asked the lady behind the till if they had a toilet and I may as well been poking her in the eye because the response was shocking!
Tasty food, order accuracy incredibly poor and can be good value for money if order on uber eats
Love the donner boxes and order usually 1-3 times per week from Newcastle city center branch on Uber Eats as addicted to them but last couple months 90% orders came missing trio of dips for donner box (simply ruins the food having no garlic and spicy sauces) and various other items wrong or missing from orders. Gotten very sloppy and I ended up Calling the store who are very dismissive and do nothing about issues. Also on last order paid for exta mix and barely got any meat. Great value for money if order uber eats on buy ome get one free which is on constantly
Banging food!
Food is quick and delicious and restaurant is a lovely atmosphere!
Peterborough branch letting you down
Peterborough branch letting you down! ordered via deliveroo 10:20pm, yes its late, but its clear they just gave me the scraps for the end of the day. food cold, asked for extra tomato and only had one. box 75% full. Really poor.
Absolutely Fantastic Experience at GDK…
Absolutely Fantastic Experience at GDK – Cardigan Fields Branch!
I had a wonderful experience at the German Doner Kebab (GDK) in Cardigan Fields. From the moment I walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming, polite, and attentive. The service was prompt and friendly, and the whole team seemed genuinely committed to delivering a great customer experience.
The food was outstanding—fresh, flavourful, and perfectly prepared. I ordered the [insert your order here, e.g., "Original German Doner Kebab with chicken and a side of flaming fries"], and it was honestly one of the best kebabs I've had. Everything tasted fresh, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out.
The restaurant itself was clean, well-maintained, and had a comfortable atmosphere—perfect whether you're dining in or grabbing a quick bite.
Overall, the Cardigan Fields GDK team deserves recognition for their top-notch food and service. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this location to anyone craving a proper doner done right!
Just The perfect fast food
Amazing food and great customer service
Went and had a great great doner wrap meal…
Went and had a great doner wrap meal today . I was served by Kate she was just great will definitely be back again
Not Disabled Friendly.
No issues with the food, but outside the Aylesbury Store there are 2 Blue Badge Bays. Being a Blue Badge Holder, I wanted to use one of them and was prevented due to their Sub Contract Delivery Driver, parking is motorbike sideways on, in the Yellow Hatched lines between both the bays, thus making it so both of them could not be used. There was loads of parking spaces on the line directly behind, what is not restricted parking bays. For a sake of 1 road width they made both bays no useable.
Ordered a £5 "Munch" wrap
Ordered a £5 "Munch" wrap. Didn't expect a full on Friday night donner wrap, but was absolutely speechless when it was handed to me. The bag it was in weighed more than the wrap. The paper it was wrapped in, weighed more than the wrap. It wasn't even two bites big. I even had to pay 49p for some spicy sauce? That I'm not even sure was on it? Never really left reviews. This is more a warning. Don't go there, I did, so you don't have to. They won't be around long. Plus, it was tasteless and dry.
