Choosing the right therapist for you is…

Choosing the right therapist for you is a big deal when going through counselling and Victoria made the whole experience so smooth and less daunting. I really appreciated the practicality, taking the time to explain things in ways I’d understand and the total lack of judgement which OCD often gets. Super easy to talk to and flexible with the process. Honestly so glad I found Get CBT and would highly recommend.

EMDR for trauma

I worked with Victoria at GetCBT for EMDR following a really traumatic time - lots of events not just the one. The most important thing she brought to the process was safety, structure, and genuine collaboration. From the start, she explained EMDR clearly (without jargon!), checked consent at every stage, and never rushed me into trauma processing before I felt ready. The preparation phase was taken seriously with grounding texhniques, stabilisation, and a clear plan for what to do if I became overwhelmed. I felt held and in control at every point.

What stood out to me was Victoria’s pacing and attunement. She seemed to know exactly when to slow down, when to stay with something a little longer, and when to pause and regroup. Sessions felt purposeful and contained, and I always left with a sense of steadiness and a plan for aftercare between appointments. If you’re considering EMDR for trauma and you want a therapist who is calm, highly professional, and genuinely focused on doing it safely and properly, I would recommend Victoria at GetCBT without hesitation.

CBT for social anxiety

Victoria has been helping me tackle social anxiety and it’s been so refreshing to speak openly to someone friendly and understanding. We’ve worked through a number of different theories, approaches and models to find what works for me.
Victoria is so knowledgeable about CBT and she made me feel completely comfortable from the moment I first walked into her office. It has been a pleasure to visit her and see the progress in my confidence each week.

A positive therapy experience

The greatest compliment I can give Vic is the trust she fosters with her clients—something that was absolutely key to my ability to continue attending therapy. Her nonjudgmental and open-minded approach made it much easier for me to open up during those early sessions. She creates a space where your authentic self is welcomed, not just the version you present to the world. That made even the more intensive sessions surprisingly relaxing.

Vic’s genuine desire to help shines through in every CBT session. She works collaboratively with you on the goals you want to achieve, while also intuitively identifying other areas where support might be helpful. This thoughtful, tailored approach played a major role in helping me reach a calmer, more grounded state of mind after a long period of anxiety.

It proves you should never give up

After 28 years of struggling with anxiety, trying various therapies and therapists Victoria introduced a completely different concept to me which is exactly what I needed! She literally diagnosed my symptoms on the spot. I knew immediately that she understood and I felt completely confident in her treatment plan. Victoria is quite simply changing lives with the work she does. My anxiety has been nothing short of crippling at times and having hope now of beating it is an incredible feeling. I can’t recommend her enough.

Very knowledgeable, helpful and professional

Very knowledgeable and helpful. Have tried different therapies in the past and never liked it. However this time it's had a very positive affect on me, and would highly recommend.

Excellent Therapist

Victoria is a kind, patient and empathetic therapist. Her wealth of knowledge and expertise allowed her to draw on a range on different techniques to help me deal with my health anxiety and OCD. Her experience with different mental health issues made it easy for me to explain my difficulties and to seek the appropriate treatment, something I feel that other therapists have lacked in the past. Throughout all of my sessions she made me feel very comfortable and understood. I would definitely recommend Victoria for anyone seeking a therapist.

Victoria provided a safe and…

Victoria provided a safe and comfortable environment for the therapy sessions. Victoria makes the difficult conversations easier to deal with and she provides lots of great tools to continue with as my journey will be ongoing.
I can’t recommend Victoria enough she is warm and friendly and she makes you feel supported throughout the sessions.

A wonderful therapist I felt really…

A wonderful therapist I felt really heard and understood. Finally the right fit for me! I understand myself better now than I ever have and it has massively helped me grow I can feel a change in myself.

Wonderful therapist

Victoria made me feel safe and able to communicate openly about my thoughts and feelings without the fear of being judged.
She gave me the time I needed to be able to answer her questions honestly without pressure or asking more questions while I was gathering my thoughts. She fully explained any tasks/exercises and has given me some techniques to help to keep myself well. I’m so very grateful for her support.

Life changing experience

Victoria was brilliant at getting to the root cause of issues, and the techniques she brought in were explained in terms that related to me, and made a difference very quickly. The sessions were ran at a pace that I was comfortable with, and we were not forced down a rigid path each week with what we would work on. Victoria is one of those people that you instantly warm to, and feel very comfortable with straight away, which makes her a very good therapist in my opinion. I felt safe, supported and cared for throughout the whole experience.

Excellent therapy for complex and difficult issues

Victoria is a fantastic therapist who listened to me and made sense of the things I was experiencing. She was always willing to answer my questions, dive into the reasons behind the exercises, and made sure to check in on my progress. The course of CBT helped me to make changes that I never thought I would be capable of making, and for that I will always be grateful.

I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is going through complex issues and needs an excellent and friendly therapist.

Great Therapy

Received therapy with Victoria and right from the beginning when I explained what I needed she asked me all the questions I knew were pertinent to my problem whereas previous counsellors haven’t. She showed me diagrams which helped me to understand how my problems all relate and I was shown some simple but very helpful ways to help me. I’d recommend Victoria to anyone looking for a good therapist where you want to understand what is happening as well as how to improve things. I’ve come so far and have hope for the future now.
