EMDR for trauma
I worked with Victoria at GetCBT for EMDR following a really traumatic time - lots of events not just the one. The most important thing she brought to the process was safety, structure, and genuine collaboration. From the start, she explained EMDR clearly (without jargon!), checked consent at every stage, and never rushed me into trauma processing before I felt ready. The preparation phase was taken seriously with grounding texhniques, stabilisation, and a clear plan for what to do if I became overwhelmed. I felt held and in control at every point.
What stood out to me was Victoria’s pacing and attunement. She seemed to know exactly when to slow down, when to stay with something a little longer, and when to pause and regroup. Sessions felt purposeful and contained, and I always left with a sense of steadiness and a plan for aftercare between appointments. If you’re considering EMDR for trauma and you want a therapist who is calm, highly professional, and genuinely focused on doing it safely and properly, I would recommend Victoria at GetCBT without hesitation.
