Disgraceful Gibson service,
Disgraceful Gibson service,
After purchasing a j45 the bridge started to peel away
Apparently it’s my fault 🤔
Funny how it’s not happened to my fender, epiphone & morris guitars which are all stored exactly the same.
Won’t be buying another gibson that’s for sure 👎🏽
Gibson Les Paul Standard 50 Ebony Exclusive Model
I purchased a Les Paul Standard 50 Ebony Exclusive Model in December '22. Guitar arrived scratched with unprofessionally installed bridge, buzz all over the neck. Returned it very next day. Gibson promised a replacement. Never happened. They even admitted that the guitar they sent me was one of five remaining not intended for sale !? They offered me the same guitar with 20 % off which I refused. Their Customer Service is terrible. They wouldn't answer my email, so I made a numerous phone calls but the answer was same. No information about the replacement.Waited six months for the replacement and finally gave up and requested a refund. I recently learned that allegedly most of the Gibson guitars with the exception of CS are made overseas. So that might be the answer for bad quality and long waiting time for the replacement. I recently purchased a Japanese Greco Les Paul Custom Alpine White. Incomparably better quality than a Gibson. Unfortunately Gibson is just a name with overpriced product made overseas. Sad.
Gibson is the God of guitars!
Gibson guitars are known for their premium craftsmanship, iconic designs, and rich, warm tone. They have been used by countless musicians across different genres, from rock and blues to jazz and country. I love Gibson!
Classic!!!!
Great location
Great location. Really loved the Gibson. The Gibson was the first location that I dreamed of having my happiness moment take place.
I really loved the guitars, always wanted one.
Poor quality guitars and even worse…
Poor quality guitars and even worse customer service! I bought a guitar that was faulty, which was sent back to Gibson by Andertons to see if it could be repaired. Gibson said it couldn't but I wasn't allowed a refund buy store so had to choose another that I didn't really want. I was advised not to get a replacement as it would probably be longer than a year wait. Then a few weeks later I see another one at Andertons for £400 than what I paid. So that's the real reason I was advised not to wait for a replacement. Steer well clear of Gibson and go for a Fender!

I have been a huge Gibson guitar fan…
I have been a huge Gibson guitar fan ever since I was a young kid. That seemed to be the guitar that everybody wanted to have but could rarely afford. A few days ago a 13-year-old boy used his savings card from a hospital where he was being treated for cancer and purchased a Kramer guitar which is owned by Gibson in Tennessee. He and I were unaware that the company that he bought this guitar from was some sort of scam company, however it was labeled as a Kramer brand. therefore common sense would tell you to make a call to the Gibson company and talk to some kind of customer service representative to see if I can get some answers on whether or not he was ever going to see that guitar or not or whether it was a scam so I made the phone call today and I received literally the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Disrespectful ignorant always interrupting rude no courtesy whatsoever and extremely insulting. I have tried very hard to put this conversation behind me but it doesn't seem to be doing much good. Not just as a minister or a chaplain which I am but just as a human being I have never in my life been talked to the way I was talked to by this representative somebody who answers the phone for a living and it's supposed to be dealing with customers who have complaints or just have general questions. Apparently Gibson hires the most rudest disrespectful Representatives out there and the only thing they actually succeeded was to lose me as a customer as well as many people as I can contact to let them know the treatment I received from the Gibson company. Very disappointing
I ordered this guitar
I ordered this guitar. The item number was attached to a Thunderbird bass. I was asked to reach out to the Custom Shop to have one made. Which costs nearly triple. No one cares. No accepted responsibility. I feel like I was baited and switched. I'm filling a consumer case with the Tennessee attorney General
2 Gibson electics 2 bad paint jobs
I have a 2010 Gibson Les Paul Junior and a 2011 Gibson Les Paul Studio Faded Cherry Red
Both have the worst paint jobs.Gibson Les Paul Studio Faded Cherry Red looks like someone spilled cherry juice on it them sprayed a matte finish , the frets are awful.
2010 Gibson Les Paul Junior also has a bad paint job looks like a blind man sprayed it ... I see $150 guitars with better paint ...like Epiphone made in China guitars a Gibson brand , Not a $1,000 Gibson quality
My older brother and I have the same 2011 Gibson Les Paul Studio Faded Cherry Red mine is 5 days older made by the same man...my brothers the pain rubbed off front and back , He also has a 2017 Melody Maker Junior they paint came off that too...
By the look at the complaints Gibson abandoned Gibson quality long ago
Not only is quality still an issue but…
Not only is quality still an issue but service and support are also on the decline. Gibson's leadership is going down the wrong road. $10,000 "distressed" guitars are not the answer to their declining sales and quality issues. They have a long dissertation concerning "foreign" copyright infringements on their homepage but to be honest some of those guitars are as good if not better than Gibson. I recently purchased a genuine Gibson 61 SG with sideways tremolo. The tremolo rattles and has a harmonic sound when certain notes are played. The neck has some kind of "putty" in a small hole on the side. The neck binding is also discolored pink from buffing. Anyway long story short, I don't give them much hope under the new CEO. .the issues remain . . Thanks for reading . .. .
Great guitar worth the price
Bought a Les Paul traditional pro V and I have no complaints it's the best guitar iv ever played I didn't need to do anything it was playable right out of the case great action and love the coil tapping feature of the traditional pro
Unplayable out of the box
Unplayable out of the box! After 50 years of playing I finally bought a new Les Paul Junior DC Tribute Bass. Came in factory sealed box from an online warehouse. Came de-tuned and upon tuning up the D string popped out of the nut slot and just keeps popping out as too much of the top of the nut was taken off, leaving the string only in the slot about 1/4 of the string diameter. I got a new nut in case I decided to keep it and fix it myself. The overall assembly and details are too disappointing to want to keep it though. The bridge is installed, not parallel to the body with the front of the bridge 5/16" higher than the rear, the pickup screw holes are drilled at an angle resulting with the pickup being 1/4" higher on the neck side than the bridge sid, not parallel with body top like in every photo you can find of one, the strings came with the A string having about 1/2 turn around the post and the others barely 1 turn. The neck has a sharp crunchy ridge both sides the length of the neck where they masked the edge of the fingerboard and peeled the tape off and just left it like that. These are all things I could spend a day fixing myself, but why should I have to? Email gibson about this but I don't expect to ever hear from them. With the online dealer, I'm on my third day and third try of them to send me the return shipping label to exchange but I think they can keep it and refund me. Gibson history and reputation? Maybe at one point in time but worthless now.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LIES…
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LIES UPON LIES.
Gibson had the oddasity to claim that exclusive guitars and limited edition guitars are the same. No Gibson LIMITED EDITIONS MEAN JUST THAT. A limited amount made. Generally less than 2000 in most examples. Exclusive guitars mean that a certain retailer sells that guitar EXCLUSIVELY. Pretty simple right? Nope not for Gibson. My new LIMITED edition guitar is not limited at all. GIBSON HAS TURNED TO FRAUDULENT PRACTICES to sell guitars. Also that card that's in the box that's supposed to have a serial number on it. Well mine was blank and Gibson says that's ok. Um no it's not Gibson. That sounds like something Chibson does??? Never again with this horrible company.
Gibson truss rod cover split
My new Gibson Les Paul special for me was a bigger purchase as I normally play cheaper guitars.
Ordered from GAK and I informed with pictures day after receiving it had a split truss rod cover. They said no problem and should be able to get a replacement cover. GAK were amazing on the whole. Gibson Europe sent me a new cover. The wrong cover. And also a used cover! How bloody hard is it to give you a replacement £5 part that there shoddy quality control missed? To send out a scratched cover clearly from a used guitar is an insult. I even sent them pictures so they knew which type of cover was on the guitar. Absolutely terrible!
I’ve lodged a strong worded complaint with them for principal as I know nothing will be done and I’ll probably be ignored like everyone else has been.
If you purchase online and find even the smallest defect then send it back as Gibson will not rectify your issue correctly or efficiently. Wish I’d of sent it back as soon as I opened it
* so an update. Gibson Europe emailed me immediately and said they have no truss covers of that style in stock but will send direct from Nashville. They don’t know how a scratched one was sent out and also they sent the plain black as their product page on Gibson.com showed all black even tho mine shipped with 2 ply black/white. Watch this space for final update when/if it arrives.
* received the correct cover today so about 3 and half weeks direct from America. So 9 weeks to sort a £5 truss rod cover but they did do as I asked so can’t give them one star any more. Slow but got there in the end.
I can say as shoddy as some of the finish on this guitar is it’s my number one. Amazing sounding and playing.
Honestly I expect more from a hotel…
Honestly I expect more from a hotel like this
Last two times I’ve stayed there something had happened,
The first time I understand the behaviour of other guests are out of their control however the second time a maintence man walked into our room at 8am no knock nothing got the wrong room , i mentioned it to the receptionist and I got a laugh saying oh yeah are you room .. , management dealt with it poorly
Absolutely useless! Poor warranty, customer service and product quality.
I bought a Gibson Les Paul Gold Top only 6 months ago for £2200 from GuitarGuitar. This was my dream guitar. To me, maybe not Gibson, this is a lot of money. It took years of saving, working and selling other stuff to raise this amount of money while having to balance a family budget.
To my surprise lacquer cracking has already started on the Gold finish along the line where the neck meets the body. It’s about 2-3 inches in length. I know some people like the relic look, but I really wanted to keep this pristine for as long as possible. I like it when a guitar gains it’s personality, the marks, dings, blemishes after years of playing not 6 months of sitting in a case!!!! I’ve not even really had chance to play the thing due to ill health.
Gibson’s abbreviated response was as follows “They look like normal lacquer cracks to me. Nothing to worry about really. It’s not covered under warranty either: This Warranty Is Subject To The Following Limitations THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER: Cracking, discoloration or damage of any sort to the finish or plating for any reason”.
Whether or not these are “normal lacquer cracks” equates to yep, the guitar has a cosmetic crack and we don’t care you’ve paid £2200 for it and only had it 6 months!! Gibson have proven they do not care about the product once it is in your hands. I will never buy another Gibson again and once again serves to prove the long standing belief quality of their instruments is well below the premium paid and that customer service is merely a token.
Customer Service hangs up and doesnt respond
I bought a second hand EPI LP Custom before spending money on a proper Gibson later, and after my experience I think ill save my money. I contacted the customer service 3 times to get specs to verify my models parts and I keep getting a generated email response and no one responds after. When I call they either dont answer or hang up. Im just lucky I didnt buy anything expensive from these jokers. Maybe the customer service was better in the past but its terrible now. If you call and pretend to be a dealer buying they answer immediately but then hang up once they realize there is no commission to be made.
Factory defects
I emailed to make them aware that my les paul left the factory with a half completed inspection sheet and a string of physical defects. All I hoped for was an acknowledgement of error, a promise to investigate how it happened and reassure me that they will work to make sure it doesn't happen again; a guitar costing over 2k should not be leaving the factory with a misaligned fret board and then some. They just kept saying it wasn't their responsibility because I purchased used.. I wasn't asking them to repair; I wasn't asking about warranty. I just expected more from a Gibson guitar and thought they should be made aware of the poor manufacturing standards. I'd been considering a Gibson custom next year, but I no longer have any trust in the brand.
