Ongoing issues with the service – are other users experiencing the same situation?

I want to understand if I am the only one experiencing these issues with this service, or if other users are going through the same situation.

Over the past months, my experience has been extremely negative and I have honestly reached the point where I have completely lost trust in the service.

The issues I regularly encounter are:

Bikes shown as available in the app that are not actually present at the station.
Bikes physically at the station that are not shown in the app.
Incorrect information about available parking spots.
Stations that remain out of service for weeks or months.
The app constantly logging me out and requiring email and password re-entry every few uses.

The incident that really made me lose patience happened while I was trying to get to a physiotherapy appointment.

In the Fonte Nova shopping centre area, which is one of the main reasons I subscribed, stations 509, 506 and 505 were unusable. I then followed the app’s instructions and went to station 507, which was shown as having three available parking spots.

Once I arrived, I found all docks occupied by bikes and the remaining ones marked in red and therefore unusable.

Result? I had to go back, rush to park the bike near my home to avoid additional charges, and I ended up missing my physiotherapy session.

More recently, I was charged €9 because the bike was shown as parked in Sete Rios for 4 hours. As always, and because I know the app’s bugs, I had checked that the trip had ended. The app was not showing any other bikes or issues. Customer service told me I should have checked more carefully that the bike was properly parked. After many emails, they eventually refunded the amount.

At this point I have to ask: is the problem really the users?

Because if it were, it would mean thousands of users are wrongly parking bikes every day, everyone is seeing phantom bikes in the app, everyone is being directed to stations that are either full or out of service, and everyone is constantly being logged out of the app.

Personally, I find that very hard to believe.

What I see is a service that used to work much better and now seems to suffer from structural issues, with frequently unavailable stations and unreliable information.

I have already filed a complaint through the Livro de Reclamações and requested a refund to my bank account instead of credit, because I have no intention of continuing to use a service that, in my experience, is unusable a large part of the time.

I would like to know if other users have had similar problems.

Has this ever happened to you?

Finding bikes available in the app that do not exist
Finding stations shown as available that are actually full
Being unable to park due to out-of-service stations
Being constantly logged out of the app
Being charged or challenged even when the issue was caused by the system

Share your experience in the comments. I’m genuinely curious whether this is an isolated case or a much more widespread issue than the company is willing to admit.

As many others say

As many others say, the app is a nightmare, setting up an account takes forever, about half of the bikes are broken here and there (seat, gears, sometimes even the electric “engine”), and you receive random charges on your credit card that, at the time of this review, I’m still not sure if they will be refunded.

Fantastic idea, terrible execution

Fantastic idea, terrible execution.
I set up the app - it is buggy and breaks all the time.
I added 25 euros to the account - which was double charged, they have 50 euros of my money.
My account is set to portugal as i am a resident here. Tried to buy the annual pass with the credit - nope, doesn't work.
Called customer service 8 times, emailed them on 2 email addresses 8 times, contacted them on instagram and linkedin, tried their online complaints form which unsurprisingly doesn't work. Complained on the livro das reclamacoes, finally got a response - they say my account is set to the uk - it isn't, regardless they insist it is despite sending them numerous screenshots to show it isn't, regardless this is irrelevant now. I chase for a refund, they are only just processing a refund for 25 euros (who knows how long that will take them), made another complaint on the livro das reclamacoes for the 50 euros, we'll see if i get my money back - 2-3 days between each email, very bad advice on the phones and rude staff who hang up on you. Bad app, horrific customer service, and i don't even get to ride a bike. Their suggestion? Delete my account and send them even more money before i've even got a refund - this service is an absolute joke! You want to get people to be active and remove all the cars from the roads? Have a service that works and staff that is actually helpful rather than just stealing people's money and trying to torture them with awful customer service over a period of 2 weeks.

Horrible!!

Horrible!!!
It was my husband’s birthday yesterday and we decided to ride bikes on a coastline.
The app required the card to be attached, we attached it.
After multiple tries to get a day pass, the app was still showing “unknown error”.
So frustrating, right?!
It’s not the worst part!
Later on we found out that they charged 302€ for that frustration!
Turns out there was a warning in the end of the terms and conditions, in very small letters, like a minor thing!
Just imagine, it’s your birthday, you have a restaurant booked and 300€ just disappear!
Thankfully that amount doesn’t affect us but what if someone is left with NOTHING after that -300?!

It takes 5 to 8 days for the money to be reimbursed.
Gosh! Their support is beyond hopeless too!

We should sue them.

You’re lucky if the app just functions

You’re lucky if the app just functions, even luckier if you get a bike to work. Im a resident and it works 3/10 times. And its an paying service :)

Not sure how many different developers they put on the job, but the app is really bad, slow and hardly works.

Please gira, listen to the people and fix the app or dont sell the service at all…

Using you’re app is like playing a slot machine. You just never know how or when you will win… i know we are all humans, but please use some ai to clean up the code xx

The app get stuck more frequently than…

The app get stuck more frequently than it works properly. It ask for a log in way too often and then it’s not even compatible with the iOS password manager really.
The bikes in the stations are not distributed smartly so very often there are zero bikes in stations and then when you want to park a bike many stations are 100% full. When you call the customer service lines they don’t always speak English and offer no recourse to transfer you to an English speaking rep, just call again and try your luck. On top of that there are many parts of the city where there are no stations at all and no new stations has been added for a long long time.

I have been trying to get a refund from…

I have been trying to get a refund from my deposit that I put on the app since the bikes did not work and I have left the country. I have had no response from them at all. They seem happy to take your money and keep it. Avoid - seems part of their business model is not to refund money.

REALLY BAD SERVICE !!!

Bad service !! after I finished my trip (less than 1 hour long) I put the bike back on its rack (properly locked), but the timer that counted the rental fee didn't stop! I phoned 3 times their "customer service" (very bad, they hardly spoke English) who told me that they would "soon solve the problem", that I could leave it there and they would refund me the overcharge, but the time count stopped only after more than two hours, and they kept charging money even though I was no longer using the bike !! !!! I felt ROBBED! They don't even have a customer support/complaints department and the website in only in portuguese... NEVER AGAIN!!!

Horrible non/working service!

Horrible non/working service!

On a day trip to Lisboa we wanted to rent two bikes on a 2,- Euro day card each. We never got any confirmation or any passes allowing us to use these bikes, but the company blocked 604,- Euros on my account, so we couldn't pay our monthly rent in time.

Thanks Gira/EMEL! Never again :-(((
