We had a deeply frustrating experience with this company. An email requesting clarification was sent to us late on a Friday afternoon at 3:51pm — just 9 minutes before our office closed at 4pm. Despite this, they began charging storage rent immediately over the weekend, without allowing any reasonable time for us to respond.

To make matters worse, the rent charges continued for several days — even though no formal invoice was provided until 4 days later. This felt like a deliberate tactic to inflate costs unnecessarily.

We found the lack of transparency, fairness, and professionalism deeply concerning. It’s incredibly disappointing to feel penalised for simply not being available outside of business hours. We won’t be working with this company again.

Avoid this company at all costs. I shipped a part load 15 cubic metres from China. They offered us a very low Ocean Freight rate of a few hundred pounds which we foolishly accepted. Once the shipment arrives in the UK, they have you over a barrel. They charged us £3,000(not including import taxes and shipping to warehouse) just to get the goods released. If we did not pay within 5 days they would charge us £554 PER DAY for storage.

A complete mafia. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE CRIMINALS.

At the end of 2021, I emigrated from the Netherlands to Nicaragua.
I contracted a maritime shipping service with Particulier Verschepen.

The contract was set at €1025 euro's.
Everything consisted of transporting my belongings from my house to the customs warehouses in Managua, Nicaragua.
with a transshipment in Costa Rica.
The subcontracted company to take my belongings from my house to Costa Rica was Cleve & Zonen.

The shipment arrived in Nicaragua in January 2022, by road with the subcontracted company Globelink.

Globelink charged me $477 for disembarking in Costa Rica and taking my belongings to Nicaragua.
This payment is illegal and I was forced to pay, I had to pay it because otherwise they would not give me my BL or Bill of Lading.
The BL is necessary to release my belongings.
The Nicaraguan government is very corrupt.
My belongings were released in April 2023.
The costs of releasing my belongings were on my account.
When releasing my belongings, several items were damaged, including my electric and gas stove.
Now nobody is responsible for the physical and financial damage caused.
In other words, the shipping mafia ripped me off.
