All my 3 accounts are not working since 4 days. Pop up appears in every account prompting for a password and does not accept the correct password. Endless requests have been sent to support centre who has not replied nor made an attempt to resolve this in anyway.

DO NOT USE - EMAIL NOT SECURE. UK website is compromised/fraudulent, their password reset process links to scammers. I have been trying to reset my password for months, but all of their options to reset password appears to come from scammers, and directs you to provide all manner of security data, and then asks you to reset your password using a non-gmx website. Zero customer support, absolutely cannot recommend in any way, truly terrible fraudulent experience.

I have my account for over 15 years (since 2010/2011) - never had a problem. all of the sudden I got a notification that my account has been blocked and they told me to contact customer service. to no avail so far. I have important contacts etc. -thankfully I have an automatic forwarding service to another e-mail account (not with gmx) however all the new mails do not get forwarded since it has been blocked.
it was hard enough to find a contact page but not a chance to phone someone or even an (automatic) email (to the mail adress you leave for them to contatc you) that your contact form was received and that you will get an answer. I contacted them 3 times already. nothing!
I will never again trust them! I used to book flights etc. with them- what if I would need some info to get to this information.

Eleven days now since my account was blocked for 'irregular activity'. Three times filled in the hard-to-find online form and not as much as an acknowledgement. I would urge anyone thinking of setting up an email account with GMX to go elsewhere. Total waste of time and effort and thoroughly frustrating. I would have given zero stars if I had been able to.

I have had a GMX account for a number of years probably 15 years+ Recently my account became inaccessible and for no known reason. My password just wouldn't work.... If I use the password recovery option on the GMX homepage it says it will send instructions to my secondary Gmail account. Despite checking my junk / spam folders within Gmail whilst also making GMX a safe sender I have recieved no email of that sort from GMX....

I have used their online customer service form explaining clearly the issue and have done so a number of times as it has been close to 2 weeks and still I have not even had a confirmation email stating they have my request....

I have had to attempt to recall 15+ years worth of people / companies etc... and change the associated email for them. I have had to change bank log in details, insurance / pensions etc.. etc...

As it stand asides from seeing that the recovery email has not been changed I don't actually know if the account has been hacked or blocked. I very much hope that if it had been hacked that the recovery email would have been changed by the hacker.... Thankfully it hasn't.... But I am not 100%.

I had many years worth fo trouble free email with GMX however they have now turned my life upside down and in a blink of an eye! Distress does not describe fully the misery this company has dealt me. I will forever more shout from the roof tops to avoid this email provider at all costs.

My email account was blocked due to supposed 'unusual activity' with no way to unblock or speak to a human being to help. Terrible service. Avoid this email provider.

This is a terrible company. After taking all the emails from my Gmail account they blocked access to my GMX email and have not replied to a single attempt to contact them. I'm deeply concerned about the security of my personal data but because I am UK based the UK Data Commissioner's office tells me it has no jurisdiction over a German company. Avoid GMX at all costs.

I've actually had a couple of GMX accounts for several years that I hadn't used in years. I recently decided to start using them & wanted to create a new acct. GMX accepted my username, password, personal info & even the email verification they sent me. As soon as I tried to log into the new acct., they blocked it for "irregular activity..." Their customer support appears to be non-existent.
Initially made contact through facebook, but only got some boilerplate response to use a report form on their website which you have to be Sherlock Holmes to find. So far no response.
At this point I'm fairly certain GMX can't be trusted & I will be reconsidering my decision to start using my existing accts.
2/19/26 Update: GMX contacted me on 2/5 to inform me that they had unblocked my acct. I'm still leary about using them for anything important. YMMV

??? Created email and use it for like 10 hours, and i order something on website, and when i want check my order details, i just saw im banned for iregular activity/spam haha, why ??? Next this gmx email service, its very bad one.

Complete waste of time you go through filling out all the necessary information just for them to block it at the last minute what a complete useless firm they are just waste your time trying to get an email address from this company they are ridiculous they are just trying to get your data for free

Awful, stay away. You cannot sync the calendar/organiser with outlook, there is no customer service in place (unhelpful response after weeks of seeking help), and it is regularly black listed as presumed spam.

I created an account and then logged in via their app. My account was immediately blocked due to "irregular activity."

My requests for the account to be unblocked have been ignored. I am glad it happened immediately rather than in a year or two after I had moved to them completely

I'm user of gmx email for years. Now, in 2026 I can't send any email to gmail or other emails providers.
I can't see any messages sent me from Gmail, even on spam folder.
At the end, even emails sent to another gmx account not working.
It seems like emails era definitely finished.
Gmx shame on you.

Very bad email services got blocked for no reason as it was not used and only set up a week or so ago, will not use ever again.

I wish I had read these reviews before opening an account. I registered and sent 1 email from the account, and received 2. Less than 12 hours later the account was shown as blocked due to suspicious activity ( I had not used a VPN or any of the other random things they list as potentially triggering a block). The email for customer services is deeply hidden, and to date I have had no response for my request to unblock the account. Is it a scam to just get some personal data from us? Are they able to block it without any reason - and hold on to sensitive information?? I strongly advise against anyone using this provider.

Just don't bother. Waste of time. Locked out for no reason ... thankfully didn't waste too much time on it before it happened.

I cannot open my gmx.de emails for several days now. The verification process does not work.

I keep logging in and signing p for other accounts but keeps saying they have blocked my account for suspicious activity , even though i just made it 2 minutes ago , this is bad , absolutely waste of time .

Got new account blocked no clear reason stated.
Was used to create a tik tok account.
This is illegal ?
