Customers have to pay for the mistakes made by the Gold mine Restaurant!!!

I made my order on Monday(16 Feb 2026) 4 dishes - Duck, Beef, Pork and rice. When Deliveroo dropped the dishes - everything was inside the plastic bag and I collected it and passed on the collection Number. When I unpack everything and discovered the restaurant gave me Chicken in stead of Duck. I contact Deliveroo online with the picture of the chicken immediately, there is no response from Deliveroo. So I report I am missing the duck dish - no response either. I was hoping Deliveroo will deliver my order - Duck and I give them back the Chicken, nothing happen! On the next day, I have received an email - Deliveroo said I will received a £5.50 refund!!! The Gold Mine restaurant did not deliver my order Duck (£24.8) and they delivery Chicken (£19.8) which I did not order. I have to pay for their mistake, but I get 50p compensation???

Disappointed with the takeaway service…

Disappointed with the takeaway service as the food tasted oily and greasy and lacked flavour. The chicken fried rice was cold and once heated tasted too dry. Unfortunately the food was not up to standard and I had to dispose of most of it. I won't be ordering again from Goldmine. I think I will just stick to attending in person as it seems that is where you get the fresh and decent food. £36. Wasted 😔😞

Gold Mine Queensway W2, Among the Best in Chinese Food

If you are a lover of all foods Chinese, then this place is certainly worth a visit.
Location:
The restaurant is located at the heart of the very busy, bustling Queensway in Bayswater, London W2.
The restaurant is always lively, busy and although there is a large seating area spread across what is effectively two buildings, you are very likely to have to wait for a table.

Staff:
The staff are generally fairly polite and helpful, and service is prompt and of a high standard.
The young man who appears to be or certainly act as the manager can be a bit scratchy, but if you are not too easily offended, you should be able to overlook that.

Food:
Now, this is where this place makes a statement and is a standout and amongst the best Chinese restaurants I have visited.
The food is simply sublime!! The taste, the colour, the freshness, and the portion size are absolutely wonderful.
Their special fried rice is very special indeed and is simply on another level.
Their Roast Duck and Char Sui Roast Pork, again, this is on another level.
The vegetables are fresh, crispy, and tasty.
Their menu is quite extensive and I am sure that whatever you order will be of the highest quality and taste.
This place is quite pricy, but it is simply worth a visit.
I highly recommend it.
