I purchased the Gostand Pro S2 desk with a bamboo top back in Jan 2023.
Its been my daily work from home desk since I bought it and I absolutely love it.
The build quality is excellent, sit/stand functionality perfect. In particular it does NOT wobble which is one of the reasons I chose Gostand after reading various standing desk reviews.
It’s so solid and the worktop quality is brilliant - hasn’t got any marks despite how much I use it.
The only issue I had was a cable tidy arrived damaged in the box, which I was sent a replacement for free.
I appreciated having a decent printed copy of the assembly instructions as well as being emailed them.
Refused a refund for a faulty monitor arm
Refused a refund for a faulty monitor arm that was damaged following the provided assembly instructions due to a flaw in the instructions.
Was told the damaged part is easily removable and that they don't stock spares (despite it being warrantied apparently) and their legal obligation to refund the item regardless.
Received inappropriate responses (you can see what they've put to other ones here), was called a liar and was told to "be a man" (look at the google reviews)
Ultimately provided the details to Amex, they supplied their own evidence and Amex deemed them to be in the wrong and refunded me at their expense.
Just read the responses they give to reviews, the numerous people with the same experience.

Horrendous phone manner. I had some questions that I needed answered before decided which vendor to use for an office fit out. Called twice and spoke to two different people who both had appalling attitudes. Seemed like my calling was an annoyance to them and couldn't get me off the phone quick enough. A quick Google of reviews and their responses to any negative reviews at all is clearly showing their attitude to customers. I did not buy from this company and I wouldn't recommend anybody else does either.

Hello! I just had a pleasant experience with the customer service of this company so wanted to express my gratification.
Credit where credit is due, Gostand's customer service was direct, kind, respectful of my time and money.
I must admit I was bummed out when seemingly out of nowhere the electric desk I purchased 2 years ago stopped functioning. I went to Gostand's website to contact them as I adored this desk and to my displeasure found out not only does the company no longer sell my product but was also on summers break.
It sucked but wasn't the end of the world, so with a little patience I waited for their holiday break to be over and contacted them on their first day back. They apologised, understood my frustrations immediately, gave me a potential solution and gave me my next steps on a replacement not at my expense.
Considering (at least from what I can tell) they no longer sell the product I purchased, it was amazing news to find out they had parts available to fix my product (I had a faulty control box which they diagnosed for me and sent a brand new one) and now my desk works flawlessly again, I'm very chuffed.
TLDR: Product is great, shame about the random issue, but they fixed the problem, took fault and were super respectful about it.
Return refused due to assembly
I purchased a twin monitor arm and small sit/stand desk online, 23/05/23.
It was unsuitable for my space. Return was rejected because it had been assembled.
I do not recommend Gostand for home purchase.
I assembled the arm on the desk and immediately knew I had purchased the wrong item. My desk is against a wall and the arms require a huge amount of space behind the desk for movement.
The arm was not suitable for the desk against a wall. If everything was assembled and the desk was against the wall the screens would be close enough to touch my nose when 8 was seated at the desk typing. Not suitable for work….
The problem was so obvious that I did not even get as far as attaching the monitors to the arm.
With the same care as assembly, I dismantled and repacked according to the Gostand returns policy.
I contacted customer services by email, as requested in the returns policy. They refused return because it had been assembled. There is a foam pad that goes between the desk and the arm, to protect the desk when the arm is tightened. They said they could see this foam pad was damaged and to sling my hook.
Yes, the foam pad is compressed during assembly. It shows compression marks from the shape of the arm base.
Customer service was unpleasant and abrupt. Please get lost, your support ticket is now closed. £100+ down on my part.
1. The foam part must cost less than 5p to purchase. If they are so integral to the product why not be prepared and have some spare for returns instead of screwing me over? Ever heard of a restock fee?
2. I can’t be the first person to have a refund refused because of a 2mm thick foam pad. Why not include a warning on the product page or assembly instructions?
3. Why not include details of the problem in your returns policy? Your returns policy sounds quite reasonable. I had never purchased a monitor arm before. I was careful to read the returns policy and chose to purchase from your based on your promise.
4. Why not have a warning on the basket page that your smallest desk and the twin monitor arm require space behind the desk in order for you to actually see the whole monitor and have space for a keyboard
5. This is a grey area, but Distance Selling law says you should offer a return even if an item is not fault
I feel like I have been played.
I would be much less angry if your customer service had been better.
I still have your perfectly packed box ready for return in the loft. I found it today and relived the whole episode again. I’m still angry about this a year later, enough to write this. You have inspired me to warn others..
Would I recommend your shop to someone like me? Absolutely not.
If you are reading this and you are in any doubt about what you are doing, or how much space you have or what you need- GO ELSEWHERE. Go somewhere that has a simple returns policy.
Wonderful desk
This is a great desk and wish I had bought it sooner. The memory function are really useful as both my wife and I have different settings for both sitting and standing.
The Gostand cable tray is a must and mine hold 2x 6 gang sockets with ease. I would also recommend the the cable management system and very innovative and neat.
Overall highly recommended.

Terrible Sales experience
Recovering from a severe back problem I need a stand sit desk to be able to work. I had ordered an ikea desk but after reading some bad reviews I thought I would see if there are any local options and came across GOSTAND which is 20 mins away from my home. Great I thought, I'll get some good local customer service and help the local economy. So I called this morning explaining my back problem and asking some very simple questions, Can it be delivered ? Can I pick it up? Will it fit in my car? If I order when will it be ready? The answers I got were all passive aggressive:- 1) no as its christmas 2) Yes 3) How would I know depends on your car (I had told her the car type. eventually she gave me measurements of packaging) 4) normally 2 days but don't know - write us an email. I said I only want to order if I can be sure that it will be ready and I dont want to write an email I want someone at this local company to answer a simple question to enable to make a decision to purchase today. The lady had no interest in helping, had a shocking tone and isn't this the reason why we buy from big out of town retailers as at least we know when things will be available and can get good customer service. It is so disappointing a local company can't provide good local service to someone with a severe back issue. As a Director I would be aghast if this was the reception anyone phoning my company wanting to buy received. Finally I asked for her name , she refused and essentially said it was so i couldnt name her in a bad review.
I see an update from the owner below which tells me all anyone needs to know in its lack of professionalism and untruth. More effort in basic customer service training would be a better use of time.

2 Year long-term use review.
Just wanted to leave a quick review after long-term use. I don't see many on here.
So I've had this desk for around 2 years now. I just bought the legs as I needed a higher-weight capacity. So I've thrown everything at this thing. First of all, I have a huge big old slab of solid oak 180cm x 90cm(big desk I know). This alone weighs a lot, I mean a lot! I have a heavy monitor, heavy monitor arm, extra large wooden desk shelf that takes up the whole desk, ikea lamp(that weighs the same as a small human), amazon echo dot, Google Nest hub, finally plant, with large pot. It's basically a floating island! Up and down it goes. around 10 or more times a day normally 5 or 6 days a week. Never an issue. Smooth as the day I first bought it. Not only that, I've had to disassemble and assemble several times due to moving. Still, no issues at all.
In terms of aesthetics and reliability, I would not buy a desk from any other company. The legs are so solid and weigh a ton. Very little wobble even in a standing position.
If you're looking for a stand-up desk and worried about reliability and stability, these are your people right here. Well done GoStand.
Office refurb with amazing support from GoStand
We used GoStand during the refurbishment of our central London office space to incorporate a more flexible office environment.
They were extremely supportive during the purchasing stage and even helped me source a company to manage the onsite build.
The desks have worked extremely well and our employees really value the move to sit-stand desks.
As a charity, the desks were great value for money especially with such high-quality products.
awful post sales service and horrendous attitudes
The desk arrived fine and worked fine for 7 months or so. A motor issue then started, causing the desk to fail and a serious noise anytime it did actually move without an error code showing.
I filled out a support claim as advised on the website, submitted a number of videos as proof to the team and after reviewing the error codes with the manufacturer, it was confirmed that the leg required a new motor.
I was then asked to send the leg to them, at my expense for repair. Despite not having packaging materials nor the financial means to safely send the leg via courier.
I was told that despite the parts having a 2 year manufacturers warranty they would not be replacing the parts unless I figured out how to ship the leg (15 kg leg and an awkward shape that does not fit in a box that's not specially made for it).
They were rude and discourteous throughout the interactions with them and ended their last email with "we will not be communicating with you further on your warranty until the components are returned".
Avoid dealing with these cowboys!

Reliable desk, excellent support
Always had good experiences with gostand. The desk is sturdy and works well. Gets very slightly wobbly at the highest levels, but that's with a moderately heavy load on it. The programming capability is super convenient and has worked really well as it remembers the heights. This is important for me as I have RSI and need precision with how my desk is set up. Support is very responsive and I've only ever had to contact them twice. The first was to figure out how to reset the desk after a move and the second was to confirm that the desk will work with a 110V mains. Both times I had a great experience working with them. On the whole very happy and I would recommend them.
European S4 Desk
Thumbs Up to the CNC guys - they did a first rate job preparing the bottom of the desk for the fitment of the frame and accessories. Building one of these with a blank desk top and self tapping screws would have been so far out of my comfort zone but the pre-drilling and inserts work they did made this a relaxing and easily achievable build. The option of having inserts and not using screws was one of the deciding factors in choosing GoStand - that and the obvious focus you have on these - asking questions like "are you going to use a monitor arm" and setting the cable tray further in from the back edge to allow for it.
Lining up the frame with the inserts was easy and provided a great level of confidence for the rest of the build. Inserting the legs and using the "click lock" system was super easy and was so secure I did wonder whether I would ever be able to remove the leg if a motor failed :-). Adding the bottom part to the legs was the first time I had to reach for my own tools as the 8 bolts needed a 5mm allen key. Fitting the optional castors was a bit tricky because of the surrounding metalwork - ended up using a spanner and then long nose pliers - it might be an idea to include a lock washer with these to provide some protection against them coming loose as they go from loose to tight in such a small turn of the nut. Another thing that you might consider adding is a single self adhesive cable clip to secure the wire running under the desk from the front trigger until it meets the middle and is secured in the frame. The GoStand cable tray is brilliant - nice and roomy for my 12 way extension lead and all the cables - well designed and built. The snake cable riser drew lots of praise of how simple and effective it is - one of the biggest problems of having enough cable ready to go 1.3m up is what do you do with it all when the desk is in the down position - the snake is the answer keeping the cables safe and secure and ready to serve the desk.
We did discover a bug in the Linak Desk Control app, which I will report to them, If someone connects using the "Guest" mode then the desk does not enforce the low desk limit and that is even after setting it again at the time - it is OK if you connect as "Owner". In our case there is a portable air conditioning unit under the desk so I had to set a low desk limit which works great apart from this bug.
You might think after reading the above that we are disappointed but we are certainly not, these are just minor points and we are over the moon with the desk.
Awesome quality without dealing with customs
Just received my Pro S2 desk and I'm chuffed to bits with it.
Before finding GoStand I first placed an order with Fully which was an unmitigated nightmare (see my review of them). tl;dr the desk got stuck in customs and the order got broken up and became a mess.
I found GoStand by looking for a business which stocked it's products in the UK instead of the EU. The commincations with the live chat was great, honest and very human.
When placing the order the site stated that orders would be delayed as the office was closing down for Christmas, fine I'd waited this long and was grateful for their transparency.
A day later I received an email again informing me of the delay and requesting confirmation that I was happy to proceed. Again very pleased with this approach.
Today the desk arrived. The boxes were very clear that the entirety of the desk may not arrive on the same day, mine did but it's good that they make it clear to customers that may not be as fortunate.
Putting the desk together was a breeze, though one criticism would be that it would be nice if the screw bags were labeled.
I highly recommend paying extra for the desk inserts and accessories for £35 it saves a ton of hassle!

Recently bought the Advance S2. Very, very nice desk. The build quality is amazing, motors are pretty silent, and the range is perfect.
Customer service is second to none. I wanted a CPU holder fitted to my desk but they didn't have any which would hold my PC. They let me pick out a model on Amazon, ordered it to their warehouse/factor, and put in pre drilling/inserts for it precisely. Then shipped everything to me for free (CPU holder, desk, etc).
Customisation options are endless. Instructions are very easy to follow, had the desk set up within an hour (with inserts). 100% worth the price.

Just through my first week with the desk and cannot fault it. The quality is top-notch. Its extremely sturdy and quiet when going from seated to standing. The predrilled holes made my life so much easier putting it together.
The customer support was amazing. I had a lot of question before deciding to buy which were all answered in detail very quickly. This made it a no brainer for me to pull the trigger and order.
I asked for a number customisations which we talked through over the hone and whatever could be implemented was added in without any hassle.
I looked at a lot of options before deciding on these guys and i am extremely happy i went with them over the others. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone looking for a home or office desk.
GoStand and deliver...
Although the price seemed a little on the low side compared to bigger brands, this desk did not disappoint.
I did plenty of research first and based my choice on other peoples opinions, and reviews. GoStand certainly provide a desk that meets all home working requirements for me.
The desk is easy to assemble, and although the legs weigh a little for one person it is achievable on your own if you take your time.
Assembling the frame is straight forward, I had a 160cm desk so it was larger than the bog standard.
I would recommend 2 things,
1) pay the extra and get things pre-drilled, at the end of the day the desk is not expensive comparitively with other brands of similar quality and the extra £20 makes life easy assembling
2) i chose the gostand cable management unit, if its to be a PC workstation then you are best of with this. Its heavy duty and spacious ive got a 12 gang PDU with 9 sockets used, a small network switch and a couple of devices with room to spare.
Customer services was very quick to contact me and advise on potential delays due to brexit/covid primarily, realistically it was with me within a working week. Ordering elsewhere was a much longer wait period i found.
