Grays of Westminster, the multi-award-winning Nikon-only shop, was founded forty years ago by Gray Levett with the idea of creating a world-class camera store, offering a service that was second to none. It is superbly located in a quiet area of central London, a few minutes walk from Victoria Railway Station; the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, the Tate Britain, River Thames and Knightsbridge are all within easy reach. Grays of Westminster is not simply a famous Nikon camera shop; it is to many photographers around the world an institution. It can trace back its beginnings from a modest mail order company to its present, highly-respected position in the photographic industry. Grays of Westminster, became the first camera shop in the world to be granted a Coat of Arms. Mr. Robert Noel, Norroy and Ulster King of Arms of Her Majesty's College of Arms, presented the Coat of Arms to Grays of Westminster 29th October 2014.

I had occasion to sell some Nikon equipment recently and approached Grays of Westminster for a quote. I dealt with a gent called Daniel who replied to my email then arranged collection via DPD. The final prices offered were very fair and funds was paid promptly into my bank account. They were in fact the best offer all round and rather than me 'chancing it' on eBay Grays of Westminster gave the best and hassle free option of the lot,
Daniel was the star of the show and dealt with me in a polite snd professional manner .
Thank you very much Grays of Westminster and Daniel.

I have been dealing with Grays for over 20 years, in all that time, have always been treated as a valued customer. Initial purchasing two lenses a 35-70 F 2.8 and. 70-200 F 2.8, more recently a D6, and a Z9 with additional lenses. Laterly these have been completed remotely as London is a bit of a schlepp. Service is second to none and would not trust anyone else with my money. The staff are always willing to answer a question and sort out any issues. ( mostly of my own making) A++++

I've been away from serious photography for around 15 years, in which time technology has moved on considerably. I bought all my film and early digital kit from Grays of Westminster, and had flawless service from them in the past. Now it's time to move to mirrorless technology and reboot my hobby - and Grays was just the same as before, offering fantastic service and knowledgeable advice. I spent about two hours in the shop confirming my research, testing different combinations of kit and reviewing the extensive second-hand stock. A reasonable trade in was offered on some of my unwanted kit from a bygone era, prices for new kit were matched to other Nikon dealerships who were more competitive, and discounts were applied to S/H kit beyond the expiry of an offer. With a subscription to the excellent Nikon Owner magazine, warranties on new kit were extended to 3 years and on S/H kit to 12 months. Chloe was patient, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and at no time was I "sold to" - even when I might have been persuaded to spend more.
Grays' S/H grading is utterly reliable - something that is "Mint" is absolutely so, something "Mint-" is indistinguishable from "Mint" but may not always have the original box. Even kit marked EXC++ is hard to distinguish from these higher grades. Further S/H discounts and longer warranty are available through the purchase of a Nikon Owner subscription, which includes some great benefits.
If you love using Nikon kit and love the brand - a visit to Grays will be an experience you won't forget. I can thoroughly recommend them.

Grays of Westminster's levels of service are rightly the stuff of legend and once again I am amazed at what they do.
I bought a second-hand camera, along with some other items, over the phone. I was assisted throughout by the extremely helpful, pleasant, and efficient Chloe who took a lot of time and effort to check if what I was asking for was in stock. (It was!!)
That equipment arrived in Scotland the following afternoon, very well packed and with the camera body in superb condition. Order fulfilled, dispatched, and delivered over 360 miles away in just over 24 hours. enough said.
Like so many others I am delighted with their customer service, but I also feel it is worth mentioning that I genuinely think that their prices are very fair. One might expect to pay a bit more for the levels of customer care and attention you provide, but in reality they are extremely competitive.

I've been dealing with Grays for so long that I've come to regard them as friends. I can't get into London these days so everything is done by email or phone, and I am utterly confident in their service, be it advice (technical or buying), or offering the best deals on secondhand items. The name 'Grays' is synonymous with the 'Nikon' brand. First call every time!

I recently contacted Grays of Westminster for advice on which Nikon zoom lens would be most suitable for whale watching — something I’ve been planning for a long time but didn’t quite know where to start. From the moment Chloe answered my call, I knew I was speaking with someone who genuinely cared about helping me find exactly what I needed.
What really impressed me was Chloe’s calm, patient and highly professional manner throughout our conversation. Speaking to her felt nothing like the rushed, impersonal advice I’ve often experienced with other camera retailers. She took the time to really listen to my questions, asking thoughtful follow-ups about where I’d be going, how far I’d likely be from the whales, what camera body I’d be pairing the lens with, and what kind of conditions I might face out at sea.
It was clear that Chloe has a genuine passion for photography and an impressive depth of knowledge about Nikon gear — her advice never felt scripted or generic. Instead, she made thoughtful recommendations and explained the pros and cons of different options in a way that was clear and easy to understand, without ever making me feel rushed or pressured into making a decision on the spot.
Throughout our call, Chloe remained patient and polite, answering all my questions in detail and making sure I felt completely comfortable with the information she shared. It’s rare these days to find someone on the other end of the phone who combines deep expertise with such genuine courtesy and care.
Thanks to Chloe’s guidance, I now feel confident that I’ve chosen the right lens for my whale watching adventure — one that fits my camera, my budget, and my hopes of capturing memorable shots. I came away from the call feeling well looked after and truly valued as a customer, which is exactly why I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Grays of Westminster to anyone looking for trustworthy advice and excellent service.
Grays of Westminster has a well-earned reputation for being one of the best specialist camera shops around, and my experience with Chloe really brought that reputation to life. If you’re looking for a place that combines specialist knowledge with outstanding customer care — even over the phone — this is it.
Thank you, Chloe, for your time, patience and genuine interest — and for showing how excellent customer service should be done. I look forward to staying in touch with Grays of Westminster for my future camera needs.

After having been a loyal Nikon SLR/DSLR user for several decades, I recently changed over to Nikon mirrorless and purchased a newly released Z511 camera. Grays were extremely helpful and knowledgeable in my purchase and delivery + later accessory items that I've purchased for it. In this day and age, it is wonderful that there still exists a traditional camera shop that offers such a dedicated service - long may Grays continue!

I bought my 2nd camera body this year from Grays. The used price was already competitive, but during the 10% sale, irresistible. Packaging and delivery were immaculate. Small problem - wrong battery - resolved immediately. Communication excellent throughout!

In these days of many companies giving indifferent service its good to come across a firm who always provide excellent help and professionism in trading with their customers!

I have bought three bodies, four lenses, one flash and several accessories from Grays. They are brilliant. I have had on-line conversations with them about technique. For example, about slide copying. They were happy to try out some ideas for me, rather than selling me something that wouldn't be completely satisfactory. Their staff know the products and all seem to be enthusiastic photographers, so you know that you are talking to people who understand. OK, they may not be the cheapest in the world but I go back to them because of their service and knowledge. It's rare these days.

Excellent service and a pleasure to deal with. The three year extended warranty with the Gold Nikon subscription is well worth considering.

Exceptional service from Nikon experts. I have bought from Grays for the past 20yrs and every time is truly wonderful. New equipment has been at competitive prices and some recent 2nd hand purchases were bargains. There is no one in the UK you can trust better than Grays for 2nd hand Nikon cameras and lenses and no one as knowledgeable either.

I have been a customer for over 10 years, tge shop is not just a camera shop, its an emporium of the Nikon brand.
I feel valued whenever I enter the shop, even if I do not purchase anything on the day. The professional and knowledgeable staff are always ready to help with advice and demonstration of any product before purchase.

I have used only Nikon photographic equipment for the past 48 years. Grays of Westminster has been my sole supplier of cameras, lenses, and accessories for the last 15 years. Over that time period, they have proven to be the best all-around supplier compared to any I have utilised in Europe and the USA. Their employees are the most knowledgeable, polite, and helpful. Their technical assistance is truly exceptional in its ability to provide the most detailed, rapid, and clear solutions to complex issues. Their pricing structure is competitive. I have no hesitation in recommending their services.

I stay loyal to GoW because they offer the best service, have great part exchange rates and are prompt with communication and order delivery. The team 'know who I am', I don't feel like a faceless customer and their knowledge of Nikon is only second to Nikon themselves.

The person I spoke to was informative and helpful, he answered all of my questions. I traded in 2 cameras and a lens and then bought my second D850 which I love.
