I've spoken with various recruiters about roles and whilst they weren't all bad I have to give a low rating based on the lack of transparency and false promises. Which as a candidate especially during this job market is very disheartening.
I've spoken with over 8 recruiters about roles that were inadequate or not aligned with what I had on my profile or what I've applied to. For context I work in sales and wanted to transition into marketing which I have a degree and experience in. I was constantly contacted about sales roles. (This was not in my preferences)
*I was never contacted based on roles that i'd applied for or were in my preference*
I would explain to each recruiter roles I would be open to, to which they would ensure they've updated on my profile or had 'sent' to the right team. Which was never the case.
I would often receive emails about roles they were hiring for and would put forward my interest, to receive no follow up. Seems as though I was only being exposed to sales roles.
In one instance I had a great conversation with a recruiter whom said they would follow up with me, but didn't, completely ghosted me. I appreciate they have a heavy workload but don't make promises if you cannot follow up on them.
This is a shame, because they advertise many great roles and it just feels like they want to fill them quickly for commission. I've heard many great experiences but in my case i feel like they were just trying to push me into other sales roles because of my experience and ignored everything else about my profile and other experiences.
I really tried hard over the course of the year to work alongside GRB in finding a role, but they constantly approached me about inadequate roles.
As a candidate in this tough market, honesty truly is the best policy, nothing worse than waiting for a call thats never coming.

I had heard a lot about GRB, so I reached out to them to help me find a graduate job. I spoke with one of their team members and put my name forward for a role, only for her to call me after it had already been filled. She promised to send me details about another role, but then completely forgot about it. I followed up via email and received no response.
I understand recruiters are busy, but if you say you're going to do something, follow through. I later applied for another role and was questioned about why I wanted to explore that sector, as my degree wasn't directly related—like I'm not allowed to be open-minded? Then I was told I wasn’t suitable because I lived 20 minutes further than what the company wanted.
She also made a point of saying these companies want “TOP GRADES” from “TOP UNIVERSITIES,” despite the fact that I have a 2:1 from a respectable university. They knew my grades and the university I attended before contacting me, so why waste my time? Just send an email if I’m not suitable. I found it disappointing because if you're recruiting graduates, you should be a bit more helpful than that.

Tieneke was so helpful throughout the whole job application process. At the assessment centre Tieneke and Hannah were there to really calm my nerves and prepped me for the tasks ahead. Would 100% recommend to anyone who is going through the job application process.

Signed up whilst applying to a job I'd discovered, unaware that GRB was a recruitment agency. I got a phone call from Emily that claimed to match me to a job but wouldn't go any further (no company name, no job role) without requiring more information, completely misleading me about what I could know about the role (secruity clearance would be needed, was their excuse) --- In fact (after 3 phone calls), I learnt the job was posted publically online and clearly did not match anything on my CV. Emily was clearly trying to push me into applying to earn herself extra commission without any consideration for my genuine interests.
I was then contacted by Karyma (supposedly a marketing manager) harrassing me about a "referral programme" which was a blatent pyramid scheme rewarded with money to get more people onto their online system.
I have reqeusted a deletion of all my data and would advise anyone job-hunting to avoid these people. Even if they're motivations might be good, the tactics they use are dishonest at best.

Through Gen at GRB I was able to find a perfect graduate job. Although with how easy the whole process was made - I could say the job found me.
Of course the interviews required by the company were a challenge, but every assistance Gen provided in the getting my foot in the door and keeping the ball rolling took as well as preparing for the interviews, meant I could relax and could solely focus on giving a good interview on the day.
Also Gen was amazing at drawing attention to aspects of my CV that I would have been more modest about were I to have approached the company myself. It was very useful to have my own personal advertiser through the process :)
I could not recommend Gen and GRB more.
My thanks also to Tieneke who originally approached me about a different graduate scheme. Whilst I did not end up going for this scheme, every member of GRB I spoke to was incredibly helpful!
In the interest of a well-rounded review, the only improvement I would suggest would be a prompt to adjust my CV between applying to different schemes. This wasn't a major issue, I would only have changed a sentence or two at most and evidently this presented no issues in getting the job I did.

I had an excellent experience with GRB throughout the entire application process, and can't recommend Jake Narraway highly enough. He was communicative, encouraging and insightful throughout, and at all points in the process I felt supported. I've now started in a role and company I love and am very grateful for GRB's help in getting here. Thank you!

I have recently started a new job which I discovered courtesy of Elena at the Graduate Recruitment Bureau. Elena was incredible throughout the entire process and frequently contacted me by phone and email to ensure that I was as prepared as I could be for interviews. I cannot thank her enough as she has helped kickstart my career when I was struggling to find anything!

Elena at GRB was excellent at every stage of my job search. From the beginning in finding me suitable roles to my interests and experience, to acting as a brilliant mentor through each interview stage i went through she was amazing. I wouldn't have been able to achieve in securing the start of my career without her. Would highly recommend GRB to all graduates out there.

The GRB have helped me get an incredible job to start my career! They phoned me with a role that they thought suited my CV/aspirations for work and within a few days I had my first interview booked. Owen acted like a mentor for me, contacting me before and after each stage of the interview process and giving me plenty of tips along the way. His advice definitely played a role in me getting my job. I started two weeks ago and have thoroughly enjoyed it so far. I would highly recommend any graduate to use the GRB if they aren't too sure where to begin their job search.
