I had a very smooth experience with Green Motion Bulgaria - Sofia Airport. The rental car was in excellent condition upon pick-up. Emil handled the check-out process efficiently, and Natasha managed the check-in just as professionally. Both were quick, courteous, and confirmed there were hardly any defects to note.
Although I noticed a few small scratches and chips that weren’t marked on the vehicle condition report, I took my own photos just in case. Thankfully, there were no issues upon return. In fact, Natasha was pleasantly surprised that we returned the car freshly washed - she explained that cleaning is already included in the price and not expected from customers. Still, I preferred to hand it back as clean as I received it.
All in all, a great experience, and I’ll definitely be looking to rent from Green Motion again when I visit Sofia next summer.

Rented car through Expedia, they were supposed to meet us at the airport in Sofia, waited around never showed tries to call numerous time no answer. In the end had to hire another car from the only place left open in the airport at the time. When returned home called Expedia to complain they tried to contact Green Motion to verify our complaint and couldn't get through to them so currently waiting for Expedia to come back to us with resolution. Would avoid at all costs and will be trying to get them taken off the booking sites

AVOID AVOID AVOID. The company cancelled my booking due to snow delaying my flight. I don’t know why the company even bothered taking my flight number. Terrible airport car rental company.

An absolute disappointment. If I could I would give 0 stars, even 1 is too many. Incorrect attitude, we received a different class of car than the one we had paid for. We waited hours to pick up the car and also to return it. Never again!!!

Company which try to rip you off all the way like all the rental car company do. They billed us 174 € in Bulgaria for a missing hubcap on a Citroën C-Elysée.
Despites the crazy price (a hubcap costs about 30 € on internet), hubcaps should not be billed to customers when lost because for most of the time, it is due to lack of maintenance on the car.
Can't UE do something about all those rental car companies which rip clients off in total impunity ?

Worst experience ever. Having rented cars at least 50 times in various countries. On return they inspect the car extremely long and basically try to find tiny scratches to fine people for. Our car had about 50-100 scratches similiar to the ones we where finded for. It was impossible to document all and even when filming they were so vague they couldnt be documented! So impossible to prove that we didnt make the scratches! The same thing happened to another renter returning the car at the same time and they had also filmed the car beforehand.
This has obviously been put into system by the company. And it is a scam you cant protect yourself from even if you film the car before!
I should have read TrustPilot reviews before. 54% gave grade ”1”. Definately avoid!

This company is a complete scam. It went good for us at the start but when we gave the car back there was an inspection where a guy said we made a scratch which was 3 cm. We could hardly see it and it was not detectable on fotos but they still charges us 278 euro. Which is absolutely ridicolous. Don’t ever rent from this company

I do not recommend this company they are scammers and they don't value the customer, i only rent from them once, and they give me their worst possible car they had, with the ridiculous excuse that it was a "complimentary upgrade" from the actual car i rent in their website, but in reality after 30 minutes of delay from their employers, the car i receive was with thousands of problems and quite dirty inside, and when i complain about it and ask for refund, they refuse and they pretended like their car was perfect and it has no issues. So guys please stay away from that company!

By far the worse company I had to deal with. Upon arrival I had to call someone in order to be picked up although if you read about them they state someone will be waiting for you upon arrival with your name on a board. Not only I wasn’t greeted by anyone but I was instructed to go wait under the airport sign and then when I questioned who am I waiting for and what car would they be with the response was the person on the phone was not with the person that is picking up so how should she know. If she doesn’t then how the hell would I know who I’m looking for. That was the start. Finally I met this greasy looking guy smoking a cigarette by the car rental. I thought I take the car at that time but he took me to his office where he proceeded to try and get as much money from me as possible- deposit for this, deposit for that, insurance for this ant that. I kept on saying I’ve paid everything upfront. So once he saw there is nothing he can’t he gave me the car. I paid for an automatic and he gave me a stick with excuse it’s first come first serve however automatic is more expensive so that is a lie. Everywhere it states they open at 6am and my flight was at 8 so I hat to drop the car off at 6am. When I called just to make sure I can drop the car off I was informed there is nobody there and I can not return the car before 9. I explained I was picked up with car from the airport and I’ll drop it off at the exact location I was picked up from if someone does not drive me to airport. They asked me to pay €100 or walk from their office to the airport- unbelievable. I was furious at that time. Do not use this company and stay away from them.

rented a car at sofia ,from green motion via zest car hire. all nice and polite, returned car all nice and polite . told car was perfect no damage. then get charged £230 for additional damage which was already there . this is a regular occurance i find particularly in bulgaria. AVOID GREEN MOTION at all cost. they give a cheap quote then make their money by RIPPING YOU OFF

AVOID
- first car offered was dirty, broken ac vents, banged up, hardly fit for the class advertised
- asked for replacement, they gave us a larger car, manual, asked for extra 100 euros since it's "upgrade". Car immediately throws errors. Also beat up and dirty.
- I call them, they say it's normal, can continue driving.
- fast forward few days, the car dies, leaves us stranded. They called the tow truck and got us a replacement car in 6 hours.
- won't repay the fuel difference since we had more fuel in the original car just because.

While they offered replacement, we basically lost a day, plus, you know, being stranded on a road for hours. And we were driving a ticking time bomb saying engine failure.

Cars are in awful condition, all of them. Would never rent with this company again.

And I just realized the replacement nr 3 has 234k km mileage lol

Appalling car hire company not actually based at Sofia Airport they eventually collect you, take you to an industrial estate where despite completing their pre booking they keep you another 45 mins and extract 15 euros for a vignette ( hired over 30 cars at Sofia never been charged for vignette as optional extra always included as they are stuck on windscreen as indeed this was) car awful condition too many scratches and dents to count interior to match
Complained immediately to customer service received reply week later assuring me vignette charge was a service to me and car is road worthy.

They are not on the airport so you have to call wait 20 minutes then drive 3 miles to the office fill out the paperwork then get ripped off 15eu for a vignette ( never paid for one of these ever from any car hire company anywhere in the world) and eventually you are on your way in a car without a straight panel and no remote key DO video/photograph the car on collection it will help you with the inevitable arguments on return and better yet use top rent bg or someone professional

Very poor performance.
When we arrived at Plovdiv airport there was no representative to meet us. I phoned them up and was advised that someone is travelling from Sofia to deliver the car and they will be late. After an hour a young lady ( who said she is new in the company) showed up with a car that in my opening would have failed every safety test.
The front bumper was hanging out and was loose, the back bumper was badly smashed and car had so many scratches all over the bodywork that there was no point taking any photos. The interior was in very bad condition too, dirty and ripped up seat covers.
When I said that I am not taking this car and I want a different one, I was told that they have no other cars available. After a couple of minutes of arguing I was left with no alternative, but to take the vehicle.
I was also told that this company have no branches in Plovdiv and all bookings have to be delivered from Sofia. So pathetic and unprofessional. Another way to rip people off in this country. I felt sorry for the young lady, as I expressed my disappointed in a very strong way and assured her that I will be leaving a bad feedback. She said that there isn’t anything that she could do and she is only a worker. They was no one else available to talk to.
When we finally got in the car and finally drove off I realised the the car doesn’t have a working radio. I what’s uped their call centre for an advice, but got no reply.
When I returned the car again they was nobody at the airport to hand it over to and I was advised to leave the key in a specific place. Totally weird practice, I have never seen before.
In general I definitely won’t recommend this company as I would class them as totally unprofessional.

I highly do not recommend I still have not received the deposit back even though the documents confirming the return of the vehicle is ok and everything was ok no damage found. In addition, the employee charged the card and not a block of funds as is standard. I would be happy to change my opinion if the matter is clarified.

Arrived in Sofia and had put the wrong arrival time by accident 11am instead of 3pm. I rang them not knowing this. Man came to tell us that the car we had paid for in full with full insurance had been rented to someone else???? Apparently we can write to them to try and get a refund.

Terrible company charged me 160 for a small stain they claimed that I made on the car seat total scam

Excellent choice as a company to rent a car. Wide range of cars, extras and options. Totally amazing. Especially the staff at the Burgas/Bulgaria/office where was my last rent. Those people are the most kindest I saw and offered much more than I have booked. Great team, great service. Highly recommended and my return back is 100% guaranteed.

Simple scam.
Did not get paid equipment - no compensation or charge-back.
No service at all - after half hour waiting outside of building for just come in to office and half hour to documentation, office stuff was very surprised about timing and missing equipment complaints

Do not rent from this company. They are dishonest, bordering on a scam. They do not disclose their fees at the time of booking. Only when I was at the office to pick up the vehicle did they announce that the price of my booking had nearly doubled due to these fees. None of these fees were even mentioned at the time of booking. The fees are so ridiculous that they double the overall price. I will never rent from this company again.
Other issues just illustrate the dishonesty and sloppiness of the company overall.
--The gas tank was not full, and I was instructed to simply return it at the same level of fullness, which is obviously nearly impossible to do. This is just a scam for them to either get free gas or charge people who bring the vehicle back with even slightly less fuel.
--They say that the vehicle is fully insured to drive in other countries (after paying them a hefty border fee, of course!), but I still had to pay for additional insurance coverage at border crossings.
--There was no fluid for the windshield wipers, the oil was low, and the toolset included with the car would not have sufficed if I had actually needed to change a tire.

I have rented cars numerous times while traveling around Europe, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. I have had positive and negative experiences. This is the worst car rental experience I've ever had. There are plenty of other options in Sofia. Save yourself the frustration and money, and just go with someone else. The alternatives certainly cannot be worse.
