This is the worst car hire company I have ever dealt with. Avoid at all costs. I was given a car with less than 10 miles of fuel and had to find a fuel station on a busy motorway. They also did not recognise my Car Excess Policy and charged me another £160. DO NOT USE THEM!!
The worst hire car company I have ever delt with. I hired a car and paid for full insurance and when I went to pick it up they wanted £1500 deposit. Not sure why when I had full insurance and even if I didn’t hand it back with full fuel it shouldn’t be that big of a deposit. The people at the renter shop didn’t know why and when I phoned they were useless. Hidden charges they don’t inform you about and then try and empty your bank account even with you have taken full insurance. Wouldn’t even give them 1 star!! Shocking and worse hire car company in the world!! I asked for a refund and couldn’t get one so I had to go with a better hire car company.
They offer a car they dont have available. Then try to send you away with a smaller, cheaper car, claiming it is the same class. Unfair competition vs companies who do delivery what you order.
(it is very unlikely this unavailability was unlucky conincidence, because I had the same car double-booked for some time a few days before the trip because I had to change timing)

I rent cars very often around Lisbon airport. And so far I have almost always had very good experiences. I now tried a new rental service. Even though their reviews on cartrawler were not bad, this was a terrible experience.
I had three credit cards, which the lady all refused.
The first was my Gold card, which I always use. The lady said that because it was going to expire end of next month (end of june), she could not use it. However, the car trawler documentation sent upfront did not mention such a requirement.
I also offered to just pay the deposit with a debit card. This was also denied without clear reason. Then they kicked me out of the office because they wanted to go home. So I asked to postpone the pickup to the day after. But they said that was not possible. So I lost both the rental amount, did not have a car and had to pay a taxi back home.
Zero empathy and zero trying to help out. Don't rent with them.
Finally, the answer below from Green motion says to contact them, but they say on that link that I need to contact the 3rd party. So not helpful.

The rental office is located a considerable distance from the airport and requires a shuttle transfer. Unfortunately, the shuttle is poorly signposted, difficult to locate, and operates only every 30 minutes, which caused significant inconvenience.
Additionally, reservations are held for only two hours after the scheduled pickup time. As we arrived 2.5 hours late, our vehicle had already been reassigned. Instead, we were offered an alternative vehicle at four times the original price, which we found unreasonable.
Furthermore, the staff were unhelpful and came across as uncooperative. As a result, we had to take a taxi back to the airport and rent a car from another provider.

Car rental company Greenmotion in Tirana, Albania did secretly and deliberately cancelling my credit card deposit payment in order to sell an expensive comprehensive insurance policy without a deposit. I have proof of no transaction and pre authorization has been done by greenmotion from my mastercard provider.
The worst experience ever: I want to vent. First time going to the Dominican Republic experience. We definitely had a problem with the car we rented through the Priceline website. I have no complaints about the trip, the flight, or anything else—everything was fine—but that rental car was definitely a scam. When we arrived, there was no car rented, and they wanted to charge us double. They asked for a $1,000 deposit and were going to charge $300 for a rental that had originally cost us $500. They put up a lot of obstacles, left us standing under the sun, and refused to give us the car they promised. I also checked the reviews—terrible reviews, by the way. It was a very unfortunate encounter and experience, especially since it was my first time traveling to Santo Domingo. Thankfully, I had to cancel the rental because it was a scam—no legitimate rental car company at all. I ended up canceling it and had to find a taxi around, with literally eight suitcases and six people, and find someone else to take me to the destination I needed to go to. I do not recommend that rental company, which is Green Motion, and they should be removed from circulation because it’s a scam—they only want to scam you and take your money. Thank God I realized in time and canceled that reservation. I’m still waiting on the refund of the insurance deposit I paid, which was $100, and they haven’t returned anything yet. I hope that eventually, in the coming days, they will return the money to me.

Hello,
I would like to begin by stating that I am a regular GREEN MOTION customer and have rented several vehicles in Corfu without encountering any problems, either when picking up or returning the vehicle.
However, my experience with the GREEN MOTION agents at Tirana Airport was very different.
Our reservation was made for the rental of an Opel Corsa from April 9th to 18th, 2026, via the Opodo platform under Opodo booking number AL950979770.
Upon arrival at the Tirana airport agency, the agent made a mistake and told me my card wasn't working (I should point out that I had previously booked with the same card through GREEN MOTION without any problems).
The only solution to pick up the vehicle was to purchase additional insurance for €120, which I refused. A manager called and suggested adding my wife as a second driver so we could use our joint card.
Having no other option, I paid an additional €60 (doubling the rental cost).
When we picked up the vehicle, there was no joint inspection.
The GREEN MOTION agent asked me to take photos of the vehicle, which I did.
The agent didn't even stay with us; he left very quickly, even though there were no other customers at that time of year, in the middle of the week. Upon returning the vehicle, we were quite worried, and sure enough, the GREEN MOTION agent and two other men began to thoroughly inspect my car.
After 5 minutes, one of the two other men, who I don't know if he works for Green Motion, tells me that the car is dirty and tries to extort money from me by asking for €50 to wash it, even though I had just had it cleaned to avoid any problems.
Seeing the scam coming, I filmed the entire vehicle, temporarily blocked my card remotely, and decided to leave the agency without arguing.
Seeing me leave calmly, the men shouted that they would take my deposit.
That same day, I received an email with photos of damage that weren't photos of my vehicle—easy for them, since they have many similar cars.
So I immediately blocked my credit card, hoping not to be charged, but it was too late, as an unjustified withdrawal of €245 was made that same day without any possibility of dispute.
They are certain that these guys are thugs, and there's no proof that they all work for GREEN MOTION.
I am requesting a refund of: €60 for the scam upon arrival + €245 for the fake damage scam + €51.55 for the new bank card + 12€ bank fees for canceling the card = €368.55.
Please find attached screenshots proving the condition of the vehicle upon its return and the absence of any damage.
I also have the full video of the vehicle upon its return available.

I had a terrible experience with Green Motion Gatwick. I strongly advise everyone to stay away for several reasons:
• Forced Insurance (Extortion): Once I was at the desk, they left me with no choice but to pay for their expensive insurance. They claimed my credit card wasn't "compatible," and since I was already there with my luggage and a schedule to keep, I was trapped. It felt like total extortion because I had no other options at that point.
• Excessive Fees: They overcharge for every single administrative task. Even a simple fine results in disproportionate "administrative fees" that are pure theft.
• Manipulated Reviews: The "cherry on top" was their behavior at the desk. They were extremely pushy, almost forcing us to leave a 5-star review in front of them before we could even leave the office. This is how they artificially inflate their rating—it does NOT reflect the actual service.
Bottom line: These people are scammers who wait until you are at their desk to trap you. Don't be fooled by the "cheap" initial price. Do yourself a favor and book with a reputable company instead.

I should start by stating that I have contacted Green Motion on numerous occasions to discuss how they will compensate me for the time lost and many issues I had faced during my recent car hire in Rome.
I experienced a very unprofessional service by the local office in Rome Ciampino. I called the office when I landed and was told that there no drivers to pick us up as the office was closed from 13:00 to 16:00, a fact that was not made clear at the time of booking, nor was this information available on their website. I was told to take a taxi or a bus, but the representative could not approve reclaiming the taxi fare nor confirm which bus I should take.
I asked someone for directions and ended up taking the wrong bus which took us in the wrong direction. I then had to arrange an Uber to pick us up and take us to Green Motion (around 2:30) where the office was shut (they are apparently closed from 13:00 to 16:00 which is surprising as this was not made clear at the time of my booking.
I have now managed to get to Green Motion and have not been offered an apology for their inability to pick us up, or provide clear instructions on how to get to the Green Motion office or agree on compensation for arranging my taxi fare.
I did get an initial response from Green Motion but nothing since. I expected at a minimum to be refunded the Uber fee of 30 Euros and would also like to be compensated for the hours lost trying to get from the airport to your depot. I have used Green Motion numerous times and this is usually a seamless process but on this occasion I am genuinely shocked with the lack of common courtesy and professionalism shown.

I had a very bad experience with green motion Manchester airport branch. I had a reservation for 3 days for my planned trip for bank holiday. However when I reached the green motion office to pick up my car, they have denied giving the car for not having second proof of address even though I've got my 3 months latest bank statements on the address which is on my driving license. Even after I showed them the green motion website clearly states to accept if the latest 3 months bank statements are provided as proof of address. This unprofessional and unacceptable behavior by the green motion staff which shows their incompetence and misleading behavior with customers. I tried explaining things with the staff but they shut me off and told me to deal with the customer service and provided me an email address. Very poor service and unethical and unprofessional behavior.

They have scammed me out of €725 for a tiny mark on the hub cap which very likely was there before I took the car.
They had a an excess of £400 and took £628 from my account.
This is unlucky money and it will bring them bad luck.

What a scam car rental company this is.
Car for 5 days via carjet was just over 100£.
Had blow out on M4 1 hr after renting car. Cost 354£ to have replacement tire fitted on moterway. Both traffic patrol offivers and polce on scene who confirmed blo out rather than punture.
Green Motion stated i hit a pot hole.
Traffic control advised no pothole between Jun 5 and 6 though Grenn motion said " we dont care what anyone else says. Small stratch on alloy on wheel which blew out cost another 295£ + 60£ for Green Motion to do check that no other damage done although very obv that there wasnt. Have historicaly rented off Enterprise and never had issue.
Shame on you Green Motion and sorry Enterprise; will see you soon. Green Motion; I will have last say!

We had a terrible experience with Green Motion Portugal. Despite a confirmed booking, they left us stranded at the airport on 8th April because we arrived after closing hours — something they knew when accepting the reservation.
We weren’t the only ones — another young family was left in the same situation. We booked through Opodo, yet neither company has taken responsibility or given us a refund.
Completely unacceptable. Avoid.

"They had missed our reservation but got us a better and bigger car than we had booked since there was no cheaper car avaible. A very nice representative for Green Motion. We had our deposit back very quickly if you compare to other companies, and a plus for keeping it low. Easy to drop of the car at the airport even though we flew very early in the morning. We had to pay 20 euro for fast driving, 55 mph at a 50 mph road. So watch out for speed cameras in Skopje! Over all a very nice experience."

This place was a scam I reserved through armed forces travel. They completely lie about their pricing you reserve a car for a price then they add pricing once you go pick it up. They have an outrageous 2000k deposit. They don’t take your insurance coverage. I went from a 120.00 reservation to almost 500.00 dollars. Not military friendly unprofessional scammers. Preying on false advertising. They should not be allowed to continue to lie to the public leading on with false pricing until you show up in person.

Booked and paid $250 AUD in advance to rent a VW Golf or similar from Green Motion agent at Edinburgh airport . They refused to accept my VISA credit card because they stated it was a debit card which it is NOT .
The agency lady refused to even try to use my card but stated for another £ 600 it would be acceptable to another credit card agent .
What a SCAM these people are running .
Avoid this Green slime outfit or get badly burnt !
