No response

Had an interview through this agency, have still not heard back regarding the client's response or any feedback from the agency.

Another time was told about a job and they never sent a job description.

Overall a very unprofessional agency who I will not use again :(

Working for Guidant Global at Waitrose

If you care about your mental health, I strongly advise against working for Guidant Global. I worked at multiple Waitrose partner stores across various locations, as well as the Waitrose Coulsdon Distribution Centre, and my experience was extremely disappointing.

At the stores:
The experience varied depending on your line manager. Some were okay, but if the manager does not like you often for no clear reason they might report you to Guidant with false accusations, which can lead to you being banned from that store. Unfortunately, Guidant usually sides with the store managers because agency workers are seen as easily replaceable. They rarely support you and always prioritise keeping clients happy over your wellbeing.

At the Waitrose Coulsdon Distribution Centre:
The environment was chaotic and stressful. It felt more like a detention unit than a workplace. Some staff, including Guidant supervisors, behaved very poorly. There were instances of staff deliberately crashing trolleys into each other, pushing and verbally abusing people trying to pass, and I also witnessed some colleagues under the influence of substances during shifts.

Supervisors were not properly trained, especially regarding GDPR. I witnessed supervisors sharing employees’ personal information openly with others, which is completely unacceptable.

The management was largely absent when concerns were raised. The manager was biased, often cancelling shifts for people he disliked and giving them to others, regardless of work performance. For example, although I consistently achieved high pick rates (around 1200 items per shift), the manager would sometimes prioritise staff with much lower rates simply because of personal favouritism.

Some supervisors were friends with certain staff members and allowed them to take extended breaks, including cigarette breaks, or to slack off without consequences.

The workplace culture was male dominated, with aggressive behaviour normalised and tolerated. Discrimination was common, and complaints were routinely ignored.

Additionally, shifts sometimes ended at 4:00 am, leaving those without a car stranded in Coulsdon with very limited public transport options until hours later.

The only positive aspect was the cheap canteen food. However, that is not enough to outweigh the many problems.

This is not everything there are many more issues that I did not mention.

In summary, I would not recommend working for Guidant Global at Waitrose whether as agency or permanent staff. The lack of support, poor management, toxic culture, and unfair treatment make it a very difficult place to work.

Im unfortunate enough to have to deal…

Im unfortunate enough to have to deal with this company for my contract work. Wholly inept does not even go there. They have changed my Umbrella Company without bothering to inform me (and without my approval). They have not passed my records onto the new umbrella company resulting in my not being paid for the past two weeks. The 'Talent engagement partner' I am unlucky enough to have to deal with is rude and unhelpful. Every time I have to contact them its a difficult and unfruitful experience. Guidant - up your game please - there are so many better and helpful agencies out there.

Massive Incompetence and Data Breach by Guidant Global

I worked as a contractor for a large Systems Integration company. The company is in the process of outsourcing certain staffing functions to Guidant Global. As part of the transition, Guidant Global arranged an online information meeting for contract staff affected on February 28th 2023, which I attended. During meeting I asked a number of detailed questions about privacy and data handling. I was assured by Guidant Project Managers hosting the meeting that I should have no concerns about my data privacy and there is complete GDPR compliance. Also, audit records are generated each time private information is accessed, and Guidant’s data handling systems were regularly reviewed by external auditors. The Guidant staff were fully aware that a massive data privacy breach occurred less than two hours earlier, where private information relating to circa 300 individuals was sent to several hundred people who should not of had the information.

Guidant staff lied to me and others in an attempt to conceal the data breach and it is clear that some or all of the data protection measures stated at the February 28 meeting do not exist. This was confirmed to me in a telephone call from a Guidant Global employee I received last month.

I sent specific questions to Guidant Global staff (including Julia Robertson CEO) about the data breach and did not receive the courtesy of answers.

Absolutely awful!

Absolutely awful!! Have worked with them twice, and this last time was a really let down! I was being provoked and abused my a group leader and when I tried to tell them, they couldn’t care less! I have emailed them about it too, and I have been told that my behaviour raised concerns, although an entire group of people that worked for guidant complained about him.

They could not care less about you! To them you’re nothing but just someone else you can replace.
