ST style HSS Body

I built a ST style HSS guitar using the XGP guitar. I used Fender original Shaw Bucker populated pickguard. The routing depths were not deep enough, and some of the widths of the routing was not wide enough, specifically the tone knob area. The problem is the price is right for the bodies. I routed the areas that needed adjustment and made it work. I will most likely get another body, just be aware that you may need to make some adjustments to the routed area, depending.

Remember that you're not buying a high-end guitar or components no matter how they try to describe it.

Like many folks my age we don't trust the interweb a whole lot and for good reason. People tend to use misleading bait and switch wording to get you to buy their products. I purchased one of the factory 2nd $100 off guitars from them. Its very pretty I'll say that. The ad says they use kwikplug pickups in these so I bought a different kwikplug pickup from them to experiment with. Turns out you have to convert the guitar to the kwikplug set up yourself so that was a bait and switch another thing that is a bit tricky is the presidents day sale they have going on 13.5% and 35% on various items. One if you use just the 13.5% on an item you get 13.5% off... perfect! If you use the 35% on an item you get 21% off that item... lie.. you're supposed to be able to stack them. When you stack them you get 35% off. 35+13.5 = 48.5. I spent 6 years in high-school im no dummy. Do your research, ask them as many questions as you can before you buy.

I have bought 4 bodies, great experience!

I have bought 4 bodies, directly from them and some pickups of Reverb. One bodies had the neck holes drilled slightly off, would not have been an issue if I was drilling the neck but I had a pre drilled Fender neck. They needed a couple pics and then sent a return label. Other than the strat bodies being a little blocky, they are perfect, and sound great.

Satisfied Customer

Out of curiosity, I checked out the other Trustpilot reviews on GuitarFetish (GF) before writing my own. I was sort of surprised as I scanned through all the negative comments - especially given the relatively attractive pricing of GF's products.

In my case, I bought a finished Telecaster body - and not because I was necessarily concerned about the price (I typically buy my finished guitar bodies and necks from Warmoth) but, in this case, I was looking for a body with a Mary Kaye finish; turns out, those are relatively hard to come by, but GF offers them for sale - and for an extremely attractive price - about twice what it would cost me just to buy an alder wood body blank.

The purchase and shipping processes went just fine. The guitar body arrived expertly packed, without any damage, and the finish was exactly what I'd hoped for. When I assembled the guitar, I found that the pre-drilled bridge mount was accurately configured, and the neck fit in the pocket just perfectly. The assembled guitar looks and plays great!

In short, I've nothing but good things to say about my experience. Satisfied customer!

Hit or miss products, decent return policy

I've purchased mostly pickups from GF, Most were decent but had a couple lemons here & there. Recently, however I purchased the Humbucker adapter ring that supposed to fit a Tele bridge pickup into a humbucker cavity, and their version of a Tele bridge pickup to put in my PRS.. Now, first their Tele bridge pickup the wire wrapped around was wonky and uneven and I had to manipulate the Tele pickup very carefully through the adapter ring but it still looked sloppy wonky, then when I tried to fit the assembled pickup & adapter ring in the cavity, it would not fit. To make it fit I would have had to modify my bridge pickup cavity and I'm not about to cut into my vintage USA made PRS. They don't mention anywhere on their site saying ".. some modification may be required." All that being said, I was able to return all items for a full refund(minus shipping) with no issues... So bottom line, most of the products are ok, just hit or miss sometimes but the return policy is good in my experience

There shipping policy is stupid

The rest of the free world is figured out how to ship more than one guitar in one box at a time Guitar fetish can’t seem to figure that simple thing out. If you order two guitars from they gonna put them each in a separate box and charge you double the shipping Buyer beware don’t order anything from these morons. Most of the stuff that they sell is garbage anyway.

Great products and Excellent Service

I have bought 2 guitar bodys, pickups, and an acoustic guitar. The acoustic was phenominal for the price. I upgraded the tuners, replaced the saddle, and added brass bridge pins and set it up. It sounds great and looks amazing. I keep it in my office at church. I bought a blem tele body and could not find the blem, it was great. Bought a strat body and neck. Neck had a chip in it and sent an email with photos and they shipped out a replacement with no issues. Great customer service. I own a Martin hd28, Gibson Hummingbird, USA Epiphone Frontier, USA Fender Strat and Tele, and Gibson 335.

Not Recommended.

Washers and nuts that were included with the pots weren't the right size. The switch said it included a wiring diagram and didn't. Ordered on a Wednesday, didn't ship until the following Monday. I usually like to support smaller companies, but in this case, just order from Amazon...

My experience on guitar fetish.com. I acquired the highest quality instrument at such a low price point.

My experience on guitar fetish.com resulted in the best electric guitar purchase by directing me to the comprehensive product list of vintage style electric guitars designed by legendary Davis Bowie guitarist Earl Slick. Slick's products include guitars, bass guitars, guitar electronics and hardware based on traditional vintage guitar makes and models at prices that are so much more affordable than the models from which the designs were inspired. More importantly, the quality craftsmanship, playability and tone of these instruments exceeds the aforementioned qualities in any similar guitar that I have played at up to 4 times the price.

Do not buy anything from Guitar Fetish

Do not buy anything from Guitar Fetish. Their products are subpar at best, and they will not stand behind their own mistakes. I purchased a tailpiece and a bridge with matching studs and mount inserts to "upgrade" my son's Epiphone Flying V. The inserts for the bridge were correct, however the inserts and screws for the tailpiece were not the same as the bridge. They were too large for the holes on the guitar. The black screws were the same thread pattern as the chrome ones I took off, but were much much shorter. I attempted to use the black screws in the existing mounts but they were too short to grab enough threads. The black plating also scratched off with very little pressure on the screwdriver. When I emailed them to get replacement studs and screws, I included pictures of the difference in the stud mounts and showed them the screw. They replied with a 2 paragraph email telling me how to properly select and use a screwdriver, and since I scratched the screws, they couldn't replace anything. Instead, I was given a link to purchase the correct stud mounts and screws....even though the description for the item clearly says "from inexpensive imports to pricey USA guitars". BUYER BEWARE

Ripped Off

I ordered 8 guitar pickups from Guitar Fetish to install into guitars, each costing around $30, and then I had to pay for shipping on top of it, making the order $271.60 total. Installing these pickups took a lot of time, as I've never done it before, and was part of ongoing projects. One of these guitars I had bought for this project didn't work so I had to return it (to a different seller), and no longer needed the pickups. I submitted a return request for them to Guitar Fetish. I was told that the return period was only 7 days (which was nowhere even near long enough for this kind of thing, as even if I had taken it in to my local guitar repair shop they would have taken 7 days to do the repair on just one guitar, so even then it would not be long enough of a return window...and who knows if they'd need more time to do this many pickups, I sure did). This was news to me as I hadn't seen this return policy anywhere on his site, but I didn't want to argue with him about it as he offered me store credit and I figured I might need more pickups for my ongoing guitar projects, so I took that offer. I then had to pay $13 to ship these two pickups back, so I ate that cost....

Then when installing other pickups I found that one didn't even work. I confirmed that it didn't work and wasn't just be installing it improperly as I took it in to my local guitar repair shop and they tested it and found that it was defective, which they wrote on a receipt for me. I then submitted a return request for this, and at first he wasn't going to accept the returrn unless I could prove to him that it was defective, and he said the receipt from the repair man wasn't enough. Then he said that he would let me return it at my own shipping expense, and would offer me store credit again, and if he tested it and found it defective then he would reimburse me for the shipping. At this point I've installed the rest of the other pickups and found that they do not even sound better, but are actually worse than the budget pickups that came on these super cheap guitars (that cost between $95 and $160). Two of these pickups have an annoying hum, so while they work and aren't defective enough for me to uninstall and try to send back, it's annoying that I've paid for a product that doesn't sound good (in addition to so many other products). Also, I'm already out over $100 due to this bad business man, and now he wants me to return this product at my own expense so that he can test it, and I'm not sure if he will actually make good on reimbursing me for shipping or not, and regardless, I've lost too much money and at this point am worried about over-drafting my account so I can't afford to spend more to send this back. I also take issue with this "return policy" of his, which seems predatory because not only is it not enough time for even a professional to do the work, but he claims it is listed at the bottom of each sales page I bought from, and I returned to them to find that he had lied, and I took screen shots to prove it. I tried filing a charge-back dispute with paypal, and he lied to them about his return policy being posted at the bottom of every page on his site, and then paypal denied it because their new policy states they only deal with charge-backs the same month the purchase was made, which again, is not enough time for a big project like this, sometimes it takes time to learn that you've been sold a defective product.

Anyways, I cannot afford to lose this $100 but I have to cut my losses at this point instead of spending more to try to return this just for store credit to get more bad products that will cost me more time and energy (as well as money for the guitar repairman), and then potentially more money to ship them back. I'm a disabled person and have to live off of $1,000 a month, so I had to save up all year for this project, only to be ripped off! And I've also read reviews that say that their pots, and any wooden guitar parts are even worse. So obviously I recommend avoiding them and not buying anything from them. They definitely are selling cheap crap parts, cheaper and crappier than the ones that come with the cheapest guitars possible (like Glarry), at a high markup and they charge too much for shipping and don't pay you for return shipping and have a predatory return policy. Don't subject yourself to being ripped off like I was.

Parts not correct

Parts not correct, when contaced them they basically say this is how it is supposed to be, if I want can return it (at my expense) and they wil deduct their shipping charges they paid and refund the rest. A case for my Credit Card company dispute!

Quality issues and dishonest practices

I have had pleasant experience with them in the past so I thought that I would give them another try. I purchased a brand new neck, finished neck, for a strat build that I was finishing. I received the neck and everything appeared to be ok until I took it to my local shop to be placed on the build. They said the dimensions for the product online didn't match what they sent me and that also there were some pretty big scratches in the frets, chunks of the finish missing from the headstock, and the frets themselves didn't seem uniform or executed properly.

I contacted to company to notify them of their quality control issues thinking that I may keep the neck for a future build but their response made me end all relations with them whatsoever. They claimed that all of their products could possibly use oil and TLC from the client to reach an acceptable quality... wait what? You want me to make the item look new because you can't or are too lazy to do so? Next the scratches and chunks taken out of the finish they claim could be covered up by the tuners and or logos so they wouldn't consider that defective and the item wouldn't be eligible for a return or exchange... Oh and btw on the smaller print in their return policy if an item shows up defective they don't have to return it... they just have to swap it for a less defective item. Total scam artists, hard up for money, don't care about their clients at all. Never again.

3 color sunburst flame top

I ordered a 3 color sunburst flame top telecaster body. The product took a while to recieve. (i live in Largo, between St. Pete & Clearwater Fl.) GuitarFetish is located in Sarasota, but my package shipped all the way to Orlando, then back to Clearwater? Not GuitarFetish's fault.
The guitar body is beautiful! The routes are clean! That's very important as I always copper shield all cavities. A smooth cavity saves me a step smoothing a rough route caused by a dull bit.
The only thing I wish? There was as much flame on the body I recieved, as the one pictured. Still, a fantastic deal on a beautiful solid ash body with a flame veneer and top binding. Looks classy and classic.
I will continue to shop at GuitarFetish. I may drive down to Sarasota, it's not that far over the Skyway, to pickup my choices, if they have a show room.

Shady and Dishonest

Guitar Fetish are shady and dishonest about their shipping and returns policy. I'll try to sum up what happened: I wanted a new loaded pickguard... didn't open the box and brand new. They tell me that I'll be charged a return shipping fee because the post office charges them, even if I say "refused" on the package. I ask my postman, the clerk at the post office (who asks the manager) if that's true and they all say "no" and that they're "pulling a fast one on me." Priority mail is *never* charged a return fee as it's built into the price (which was $18).

So either 3 postal employees are incorrect about shipping policies or GF are looking to make some quick money. I think it's the latter. They just lost a longtime customer over a $14 baloney charge. I basically ate $32 to learn a hard lesson.

Finally got my stuff after months.

EDIT: After going back and forth for several months they FINALLY reshipped my order. This was only after much back and forth and them telling me I was just out my money. I mean glad I got my stuff but not sure why it was such a struggle.

Never got a single item I ordered. The USPS even sent an email to them and I stating the package was misdelivered. They claimed they filed a claim through USPS but refused to share a claim number and subsequently told me I was out of luck on an order totally about 150 bucks. This was after months of going back and forth with them. Never again

THESE GUYS WILL SCAM YOU.

Pro870, with very good support

I bought a Strat copy (Pro870) from GuitarFetish. It's gorgeous, well put-together, and it sounds fantastic — very Stratty.

The instrument arrived with an unexpected flaw, so I got in touch with GFS's support personnel, and over a handful of emails, promptly and professionally handled, we arrived at a satisfactory fix.

I'm very pleased with my new instrument and with GuitarFetish, and will be bringing repeat business to them.
