We used Halcyon to provide a delivery skipper to sail back with us from La Rochelle to Portland Marina, Dorset. Easy to set up, the process gave confidence that they were on top of things, and we had a cracking sail back. The initial 48hrs involved beating into 25-30 knots of wind, and we were glad of the experience and expertise of Mederic, who guided us through it all with confidence and good humour.

Following the 200th-anniversary commemorations in New York, the winter crossing of the Atlantic was a significant undertaking. We would like to thank Pete Green and Sarah Arnold for their coordination, and the crew for being incredibly competent and experienced—especially with the ship’s traditional gaff rig and historical sail plan.
Throughout the voyage, the crew proved to be highly solution-oriented, handling everything that arose with great skill, both in terms of sailing and maintenance in port. Their deep understanding of historical vessels ensured that SS Restauration was in the best possible hands. It was a proud moment to see the ship arrive safely in Stavanger to such a warm reception.

We highly recommend Halcyon Yachts to anyone seeking a professional team with genuine expertise in traditional sailing!

Halcyon Yachts could not in my view have been more helpful or professional. I normally don’t write reviews but they deserve 10/10 or 5 stars/5.
The team was incredibly efficient and easy to deal with. Both from our side and so I gather our partners.

The team at Halcyon are super professional; from the moment we engaged with them to seek their support to deliver a classic motor yacht in the Scottish Highlands to Kilmelford, we knew we had chosen well. Communication and pre-trip planning was excellent. Engagement with the skipper and crew was first class and made so much better that both were boaty enthusiasts as well as being seasoned sailors. All of this was done, including the delivery during the winter, when almost all boats and skippers are still wrapped-up well away from the water. The trip was well documented with regular progress updates and stunning photography. When you have to entrust your pride and joy with strangers, then I can honestly say the team from Halcyon are first class. I wouldn’t use anyone else now.

In April 2023 I had the opportunity to crew on the delivery of a Salar Buccaneer 40 Ketch from South Portugal (Lagos) to Ireland (Malahide). The boat had been afloat in the harbor for a few years with only essential maintenance performed on it. The Halcyon-provided delivery skipper was substantially experienced and quite familiar with the route we set out to take. Even though we were going upwind for most of the passage (very low comfort) and suffered a few engine failures in the small hours of the morning the overall experience was very good due to the positive team-atmosphere onboard. It was also a good opportunity to apply AEC 1&2 knowledge and general boat-repair skills.

I hired Halcyon to deliver my boat from the Caribbean to the UK. I had used another service twice before with good results. Halcyon was a disaster. The crew caused over $45,000 in damage to the sails, rig and interior. In addition, they had the audacity to charge me for time while stopped mid trip to make repairs for damage they had caused.

As I later found out, while they have in house crew, they also use freelance sailors they find on the internet. There is no vetting of these crewmembers whatsoever. In my case, the 'captain' they hired had only had one captain job before my boat, and he was fired for incompetence from that position.

If you have a nice boat and want to keep it that way, be warry of using Halcyon and don't trust a word Pete utters.

I am ecstatic with the service I received at Halcyon. First of all, the administration was dealt with very promptly, and the entire team is keen to help in any and every way.

My experience was much more than just a boat delivery service. As I am very new to boating and saw this trip as an opportunity to give me a really good kick start in my boating career, I decided to join the delivery and be on board. I seriously had the best time of my life.

Pete was my skipper and he was amazing. The trip took over 12 hours from Falmouth to the Solent, and he taught me as much as someone could possibly learn in that time. He is very professional but also extremely friendly, and we pretty much talked for the entire 12 hours, which made the trip fly by. At no point did the conditions feel like an issue.

On top of that, it was one of the best experiences of my life being at the helm, driving through some rough seas with countless dolphins on both sides of the boat. It was incredible and a huge highlight of my life.

I massively thank the entire team and look forward to contacting them again for more boating experience and future deliveries.

Pete and the team from Halcyon did an excellent job - couldn`t fault them at any stage of the delivery process. The care they took in advance, careful checking on our boat on arrival, appointment of three fully trained pro crew, excellent communication throughout - all convinced me that this was a high-quality operation. Inviting strangers on board your boat and trusting them to take it on a long journey for you is no small matter, but Pete, Mike and Lucian were a joy and really looked after our boat. They coped with a complete range of weather, challenging harbours and the most complex of port/customs paperwork - all with patience and care. All in all, we were delighted - and they even made a great video of the trip too!

I'd read good things about Halcyon yacht deliveries so when we needed our Excess 14 moving from Sardinia to Montenegro I got in touch. The service was top notch throughout, from first contacting Halcyon, Sarah walking us through the process on the phone right through to saying goodbye to the guys everything has been great. The Whatsapp group was a great way to keep everyone in the loop. Aitor (skipper) is a lovely chap and I had 100% confidence in him taking the boat.

We engaged Halcyon Yachts after my wife fractured her femur whilst out walking. We are summer liveaboards and because my wife could not be on the boat and I could not leave her alone for more than a few hours, my unattended boat became uninsured on the mooring buoy we had been useing and it was necessary to have her returned to her winter berth as soon as possible. Halcyon Yachts and Antoine, their nominated Skipper, were most responsive and had her home within five days of my first contact. Antoine then supervised her lift out and the removal of sails and fabric bimini to prevent any storm damage. Antoine maintained excellent communications throughout and was most responsive to my needs.

Halcyon Yachts delivered our sailing yacht from Bucklers Hard to Newcastle, the Skipper, Shaun Lapworth, and Crew, Andrew Watts, were amazing, great guys to get on with on our 3 day sail. Pete was extremely helpful with all my questions, and very flexible on dates, would highly recommend.

Halcyon recently completed a delivery of our Nordship 380DS from Poole to Conwy. From start to finish, the service was absolutely first class.This is the first time we’ve used a yacht delivery company and it all went so smoothly. Communications with the team to setup the delivery and find a skipper were super professional and clear, the process couldn’t have been made any easier. The delivery skipper, Jackie, was absolutely fantastic. A true professional, super friendly and honestly couldn’t have done any more to make the delivery perfect. The boat was in safe hands and arrived in perfect condition, indeed much cleaner than it left and super advice/feedback on the minor things needing attention. I couldn’t recommend more highly - either Halcyon themselves or Jackie and her crew. First rate!

We spent a long time reviewing the market for a reputable company to take care of the delivery of our pride and joy from Ellös in Sweden to the South Coast of the UK. We could have saved a lot of time by approaching Halcyon first. From the very first engagement, to the mooring up at her home port and leaving her in immaculate condition, the service was second to none.

Our selection criteria was relatively simple. Firstly, safety of crew and boat, a timely delivery on budget and finally a highly knowledgeable, calm, confident and experienced skipper and crew.

Graham (Skipper) and Sarah both exceeded expectations. They also introduced a huge amount of fun to the maiden voyage, and it was a pleasure to share the journey with them.

When my boat Bernice had accident of broken boom he managed emergency action and temporary repair and carried out the voyage to Cartagena without any further damage.
After he arrived at the Yacht Port Cartagena he has done lots of contacts with boom maker and got correct contact point.
I hope he pay attention until the repair are completed.
