Hank's Saved The Day!

I had the most fortunate experience at Hank's Tire when a sizable nail decided to play havoc with my tire, threatening to put a damper on my day. I was en route to an important event, and the last thing I needed was a flat tire. As I pulled into Hank's, I could see they were swamped with customers, and the worry about being late to my event, coupled with the potential $60 Lyft ride through LA traffic, loomed over me. Luck was on my side; Steve Goldberg, the owner, happened to be right there at the front of one of the service bays and noticed the spike in my tire as I pulled in. Steve looked at me, smiled, and said, "Well that looks like a problem sticking in your tire". I think Steve could sense the stress on my face, and with a swift gesture, he summoned what felt like a pit crew to my situation. Having started his career in a shop similar to Hank's, I knew that the spike in the tread could be fixed without posing a safety issue, however in the back of my mind, I also knew firsthand how some shops might seize the opportunity to sell a $300 tire to someone with a flat. As the crew worked on my tire, Steve shared a bit about his background. He mentioned how his father, who laid the foundation for Hank's Tire 70 years ago, instilled in him the values crucial for a successful a business-emphasizing that relationships are everything. Steve said he just wanted to see me get back safely on the road, although tires are a big part of Hank's, he knows that if he takes care of the community, the community will keep coming back! Crazy right? The world needs more people like Steve and places like Hank's -
