We had Rana stay in our home for 4 weeks while we went to the UK on holidays. It was a huge relief after meeting her to see how she related to our 2 fur babies. We had great communications while we were away and we came home to a lovely clean and tidy home and 2 very happy pups. Thank you

I wish I'd read reviews before purchasing a 1 year membership. I gave them feedback about the search function of their website not working and returning results irrelevant to my search parameters and they kept acting as though they didn't understand my feedback before telling me I needed to broaden my search! I didn't want to broaden my search, I wanted to see what was available within my search parameters, that was the point! And I received emails with unwanted jobs every day which wasted my time. I didn't renew and just use Aussie Housesitters which is thoroughly professional and whose website and email alerts did all the things you would expect such a site to offer.

Recent experience was revolting with one disrespectful sitter told me how disrespectful she is with the past house owners becauseshe "thinks" the owners didn't trrat the pets right. Constantly complaining about all the sits she had and talk bad about her own family members. Very toxic person. Wouldn't mind her own business and tried to tell you how you should go with your life. Nosey.
Upon asking cancelation reason, showed no empathy but rudeness with lectures you never ask and you never want. Controlling af.

Bad enough I don't want to touch it ever again.

More than surprised by all these bad reviews as I am a member since September 2023 and have had only good experiences!
My partner and me have secured more than 5 house sits in wonderful places from Victoria to Queensland, with the most adorable pets.
The home owners have also been very happy about the exchange.
The website offers all necessary functionalities and I will continue using it while I am in Australia!

I was so disappointed in my recent experience with house sitters from this company. I had a couple staying in my home, and I was confident that they would be looking after my cats and home, based on positive reviews from other people who had had them house sit.
I arrived home to a horrible smell in my home, caused by cat urine saturating a rug in my craft room (also one of the rooms with a cat litter tray). The litter tray was stinking and had obviously not been cleaned out and washed in the month I was away, so one or both of my cats started using the rug as a toilet.
I was also horrified to find that the house sitters had been sleeping in my bed, despite there being 2 other bedrooms with beds made up for them to choose from.
Other fun things were dead plants, my security cameras disconnected, air conditioning turned on in every room of the house.
When I rang Happy House Sitters I left a message for them to ring me. Three weeks later I haven’t heard back from them.
2 stars because my cats had been fed and seemed happy enough.

Promised a house sit, was waiting for an online meeting, when I sent another message was told they already had a sitter...they weren't even going to let me know!! Sent a complaint to website manager and was told it wasn't their fault the party had withdrawn. Who took my membership fees???????Totally incompetent, have joined Aussie Housesitters and very happy with a new house sit.

Caitlin and Reece where fantastic. They looked after my very needy cat Marvin. I got plenty of updates and the place was spotless when I returned.
I can’t recommend them enough!

My first house sit was interstate, looking after a dog, cat and chickens, the dog was smelly as was all his bedding when I arrived, these are not very tidy people, thus meant three weeks in a cold climate to endure in these conditions so didn't feel any respect to me as the house sitter was provided. After personally speaking to HHS about my experience, I found they really didn't care, and told me, house sitting wasn't for everyone. My feel is that HHS is very one sided, as a house sitter I had to pay to be on their web, plus my ID check, plus my Police check, yet anyone looking for house sitters on Happy House Sitters have no responsibilities and can plant cameras to spy on people (possibly inside) they ask to look after their home and/or animals. Sorry HHS, please explain????

We have completed one housesit and found the homeowners on Happy House Sitters. The platform is easy to use and we get regular alerts of available housesits. Cheery platform and lots of good housesits available.

Happy House Sitters was recommended to us by a couple who are already Happy House Sitters but were unavailable. The number of suitable House Sitters available was most encouraging.
We chose Saara Lamberg who house sat for us between October 19 until November 7. She was prompt in responses, helpful and resourceful. Heavy winds blew over a large tree in our back yard and she organised its removal and kept us informed. We don’t have any pets currently, but everything was fine when we got back

We’ve had the best experiences with the sitters we’ve found on Happy House Sitters. Will definitely continue to use the site.

I joined this site more than 6 months ago. My first booking breached their house sit commitment on short notice - despite confirming multiple times over the previous 2 months. I incurred $1400 in hotel costs due to the short notice. Happyhousesitters response - that’s your bad luck. I will never use this site again.

Update - after being named and reviewed on this website, suddenly some interest from Happyhousesitters. No thanks to your offer of 16 days free membership ( the equivalent of about $5, to offset a $1400 loss in emergency accommodation costs) - I can’t afford to incur huge losses when unreliable owners use your site without any repercussions for them. If people do cancel out at late notice - how about a policy to flag them for doing this so people can actually judge their reliability.

We’ve been members of Happy House Sitters since September 2016 and can highly recommend them. The website is easy to use and they truly care about their members. We’ve now had seven house sits - six since June 2018 - through HHS and have met some lovely homeowners and pets, while we also got to know the whole of the Sunshine Coast in the proses. I had my first experience with hhs in October 2017 when I advertised for a sitter for my home and dog from November 2017 until January 2018. After placing my ad I was contacted within 2 days by Ian. I read his excellent references and arranged to meet by the waterfront near my home. My dog took to him immediately and I felt comfortable with him so booked the sit. Whilst I was away my dog and home were well cared for and Ian was on a friendly basis with my neighbours.
I am hoping my latest search will be as fortunate as my first.

Had Rosalee come and stay for 10 days and look after my much loved cats. She was amazing. House spotless on my return and gardens well watered. Cats well cared for. Would fully recommend
