Harbor Freight Is The Worst Place For Tools

I would NOT recommend Harbor Freight; this place really sucks now! Their customer service gets worse every year. I received their coupons yesterday and I drove to 2 different stores that didn’t have the item. When I finally arrived at a 3rd location, I realized what I saved on the item I spent in gas driving from store to store. Then to make it worse their customer service wouldn’t even allow me to purchase a 2nd set, even when I explained the 3rd location is 30m miles away and that I was buying for a friend and could confirm this…. They really suck now, it’s like they go out of their way NOT to make a sale. I’ve contacted their customer service office, which is completely useless, and that’s if you can even get anyone on the phone. They lost me as a customer, I will never shop at their stores again, it’s just not worth it. Even when they have a sale, their locations are always too far to drive from any area and their customer service is the worst! I have even made them aware, and they simply do not care…that’s usually the first sign a store is going downhill. This was the same behavior I saw in stores like Sears, right before they went out of business. Their website is lousy too, nothing ever works. So, in the end, if you need tools, stick to Depot or Lowes, but don’t ever waste your time with this place. If I had more space I could go on and on how lousy that place is, but I would just avoid it altogether!

I'm honestly upset

I'm honestly upset, I bought a band saw from HF a few years ago, great saw. Over the last 12 months they changed the brand of band saw's they sell and stopped stocking the very specific blades for this saw. This is either a pitiful way of trying to get me to buy a new saw, or you just don't give a rats ass about your long term costumers-

Get a jump on winter cold starts

Bought a jumpstart kit for the winter and used it last week in the first real cold spell of the season.i suspected my battery was getting weaker as it was dragging a bit. The device was the 1000 watt w/ 750 cc(cold cranking)amps. After charging the unit after purchase it worked well enough. I actually bought the undersized model as it wasn't designed for a 5.8l engine but I jumped it 3x on one charge before fading on the forth. I intend to return it and get the larger model. And have since replaced my battery.

Be careful purchasing machines

If you choose to purchase machines, you had better check the box before leaving the store. I purchased a Bauer orbital edge/spindle sander and had no need for the spindle for a few months. Then I went to set it up and the backing plates were missing! Store manager said i need receipt or pay $40 to replace! BS, It wasn't my fault the parts were missing! Never going there ever again. NO SUPPORT ON THIER OWN PRODUCTS! I even tried to order on line, nope, no parts available! HARBOR FREIGHT SUCKS!!!!!!

Horrible customer service

I purchased a PITTSBURGH Gear Oil and Fluid Pump for about $16.00. It did not fit the gear oil container that I received later that week. I took the pump back to Harbor Frieght to exchange it or get a refund. Of course they asked for my receipt, I didn’t have it but showed them my credit card statement showing the purchase. They stated without a receipt they won’t do anything.
I’ll NEVER go to another Harbor Freight again over a $16.00 item. Petty.

Terrible Management and Customers Service

Shopping the store with family and went to look at an angle grinder on sale. As I pulled it off the shelf down low, the box was opened and everything fell out onto the ground. Despite it not being my fault it fell to the ground, I picked everything back up and set it on the shelf so that it was obvious the box was opened. I grabbed a brand new one and took a look at it to decide if I wanted to purchase and then to find out what accessories I needed to go with it.

When we got to the checkout, the store manager or that is what her tag said was behind the cashier and said to give us the one we opened and had taped it up. When we explained that it was opened and fell out and she was lucky we even picked it up, she rolled her eyes and said sure. They kept everything we had gone there to buy and lost out on the 1800 generator I was going to buy this weekend.

Go look at the cameras and verify your facts before you accuse a customer of something! Will never buy from Harbor Freight unless that person is fired!

Never buy something to use in the future because it will not work when opened.

Baught a welder for a project car. Had a year in the box. Opened it to try and use it and the is crap. The shilding gas line in the machine is not working. Called the no support and got just that no support. I have bought about 12,000.00 in the past year there and will never step inside a harbor freight again. Since I have a boat anchor now, I will tear it apart and fix it myself. Have bought tools that had parts stolen from them and was told tough luck.

Stop buying at harbor freight

The sales people sure know how to manipulate unsuspecting women into things they don't need like telling them they need a fast track membership, and an extended warranty again they should not upsale to a mentally challenged person ..taking advantage of a person like that is a shame..Piss poor salesmanship...

Receiving unsolicited emails

This company has been sending me unsolicited mail, despite NEVER shopping here (I don't even live in the US!).
I contacted their customer service email to notify them I'd been issued a receipt. The senior associate Maria assured me the email address was likely entered by error and assured me she had removed it from their system. Yet, I'm continuing to receive marketing emails! I'm reluctant to click on unsubscribe in case of phishing (hence why I emailed them instead).

In conclusion, very disappointed that I'm receiving unsolicited emails and have reported the business

Extremely rude and nasty manager

The manager Sydney at the Westport Rd location was extremely rude to me, and she consistently escalated tensions. She looks to be maybe 20. She talked over me like a high school teenager. Told me VERY RUDELY "I told you it has to be the same item, it can't just be a free-for-all!" (she, in fact, did not say this, like not even a little bit, not even anything similar) and "You're just mad because I told you no!". This after she failed repeatedly to be clear with me about a return I was trying to make, changing her parameters around what I could and couldn't do literally 5 times.

Warrior Welding Wire ,Pleasant Surprise

I bought Flux Core Welding Wire because I ran out of wire on a weekend and my local weld shop was closed .I bought a 2 pound roll just to finish the job. I expected mediocre quality honestly .I was blown away at how well the Warrior Flux Core Wire ran for me.I just returned and bought a ten pound roll .

Stroudsburg,PA location …


Love this location and the personable cashier, ANGELA, that engages with customers like an old friend. She smiles, chats and processes the transaction all in one motion.
I purchase multiple items and yet never had an issue returning anything on the 90 day policy.
Their computers are updated for easy transactions and purchases are connected to the rewards program by your phone number for easy access and look-up.
Recently, I signed up for the yearly subscription that entitles the consumer more discounts and greater sales promotion. Awesome.
Also, when an item is returned, their computer system credits my credit card immediately not like other merchants where the credit shows up days later.
Keep up the great work team!

Harbor Freight Violates Consumer Law

Item purchased on 10/3/2025 and not used or opened.
Took to the store (#13 Las Vegas) few days later with receipt, driver's licence and card used for purchase.
When atempted to return cashier, manager and store manager ALL demanded a phone number.
I refused and called HF customer service.
Spoke to someone named Iein (he refused to provide any other ID information) and Meagan.
Both claimed that phone number is required for return AND store can refuse return for ANY REASON whatsoever.

Waste of money

Bought battery run lawn mower May 10, 2025. On June 10 th battery needed to be replaced. On Oct 7 mower ran for 2 minutes and then couldn’t get the motor going. The store and i determined that the charger was working and battery fully charged. They had been stored in my home. The mower was stored in a shed. No extended warrantee purchased. The store offers no service at all. Mower cost 269.99. Then learned battery 129.99 and charger 49.99 had to be purchased additionally. Tax 27.

Purchased an oscillating tool this past…

Purchased an oscillating tool this past June, it lasted two jobs and broke. For the record it’s now October. Harbour freight refused to replace or refund the cost of the tool. It was just outside the 90 day warranty. Bauer brand ain’t it. I’ve never had a power tool die this fast before. I’ll be shopping at Lowe’s or online now for sure.
