Bananas 79 cents a pound

Bananas 79 cents a pound. Walmart still under .40 cents. Harris Teeter is outrageously priced. This is just one example in the produce department.
Wegman's is coming.

They are very overpriced grocery store…

They are very overpriced grocery store even with so called sale items they are still higher than most grocery stores. They also recently have smaller containers in their fridges which means u pay the same but u get a lot less. What a scam! Meat is all overpriced even when it’s on sale! I shop only at ALDI’s for organic meat and fruits/ vegetables, eggs and yogurt. I highly do not recommend Harris teeter here in North Carolina in the Greensboro area. I will never shop there again.

Harris Teeter Pharmacy Website

I have just logged into my Harris Teeter Pharmacy account to request refill of prescription. They have implemented a new policy on their website. In order for a patient to be able to access ANYTHING on their pharmacy page (My Refills, My prescriptions, My Profile etc) you have first to accept the following:" I consent to receive communications (including, but not limited to text messages and emails) from the Kroger Family of pharmacies, clinics and dietitians that may be delivered by using pre-recorded or other automated messages. Communications may include marketing about my prescriptions, other health-related benefits and services that may be of interest to me (including availability of clinical trials), and/or privacy related communications and notices. This consent is not required as a condition of purchase.". There is NO option to DECLINE above, only ACCEPT above.. Huge misinformation, in order to make request for refill and purchase medication I HAVE TO CONSENT first to above. Don't see what other options I have here, I'm forced to drive to store and ask in person for refill , otherwise I will have to consent first to their advertisement in order to make a medication purchase. Never encountered such practice before with any other store pharmacy. Highly disappointed.

Nasty

A few weeks ago I notified Harris-Teeter that the restroom in the store was beyond dirty and that I believed it was nasty. I got a call from the manager who said he'd remediate it. Visiting the store again today, I see it's still nasty - there's something growing on the wall by the door.

Harris Teeter Price Gauging

I drove down from PGH PA to Pinehurst NC this week and stoped by a Harris Teeter for groceries. The price on their cheeses are three times (yes, three times) what we pay for better product (Delallo) in PGH, I was shocked at what NC people are being subject to in price gauging. NC customers should push back.

Poor customer service

Poor customer service. Harris Teeter Indian Land SC keeps ripping off its customers by not giving all fuel points earned; Coke products are buy 2 and get 1 free; when checking out, no credit for the 1 free six pack of Coke given; customer service representative said that Dr. Pepper was a Pepsi product and that was the reason; wrong again; produce department had a lot of empty shelves; meat department employees simply looked at you and didn't help; provided the wrong product; manager was not available to discuss the recent experience; the manager was hiding under their rock. Simply a terrible Indian Land SC Harris Teeter; wait until the new Lowe's food store and Costco opens in 2025 not to mention the new Target scheduled to open in 2025, too. Shopping more at Aldi now; get 20-40% off similar products that are just as good as named brands.

Very disappointed in customer service today

I bought some groceries for dinner and one of my bags was not put into my cart. I got home and realized what I was missing. I drove all the way back to Harris Teeter, saw the cashier who was speaking with another employee and had no customers, and asked her about it. She said she gave the bag to customer service. No apology. So I waited and finally just said there should be a bag behind the counter with my groceries. The man said he had put them back. Go ahead and get them. So I proceeded to go back to the grocery store to get my two items that were missing from my cart. He waved me through. No I’m sorry or responsibility was taken for their mistake. I understand people make mistakes, but basic customer service dictates that you at least apologize. Very disappointed.

Harris Teeter has gone way downhill

The Harris Teeter on Broad Street in Falls Church used to be wonderful: friendly staff, high-quality goods and reasonable prices. But it’s been gradually deteriorating over the past couple of years, especially over the past few months. Their website is unusable (or at least it was - I gave up using it long ago). Items are regularly out of stock. Elevators and doors are frequently out of service. And worst of all, their disheartened staff has been so cut back that service is terrible. For example, once again today there was only one cashier open at noon on senior discount day - always a busy time. She was struggling to help everyone in her increasing line with a POS system that wouldn’t even calculate the 5% discount. And when the previous client found made a mistake on one charge (for which the cashier apologized sincerely profusely, someone came over from “customer service” and yelled at her.

Some of this is clearly the problem of store management. But a lot of it is corporate. Thank goodness Whole Foods will soon open just up Broad St!

Arrived at 9am for a 9am appointment to…

Arrived at 9am for a 9am appointment to deliver groceries at Indian Trail DC. I expected to be treated like a 3rd rate citizen. I was not! Security was pleasant and the the marshaling yard was spacious. They had flush toilets for the drivers and running water in the hand sinks. I was impressed. I will definitely deliver here again.

Not an ADA friendly location

This store lacks accessibility for those who use mobility equipment like wheelchairs or rollators.

My adult disabled son and I came to the store and had to continually request that staff help us while we checked out to the point of frustration.

When I told an associate at the customer service desk that although I asked for help at checkout we still were not supported, she said in response “uh oh.” And then chuckled. I immediately told her if she was asking for help and that was the response, she would be upset. I then spoke to the store manager who was more professional, but I do not feel like anything will be done to correct this issue. We won’t be returning. The prices here are significantly higher than giant and Safeway and the quality of the produce was not the greatest anyway so no loss for us.

There happened to be another customer that was there that helped my son and I.

This store needs some sensitivity training on how it would feel to be a person with a wheelchair trying to independently shop in this store.

The checkout lanes are set up in a way that they are not wide enough for a person with a wheelchair to fit through and I had to slide sideways and move carts from the next aisle over to help my son.

I would like to recognize front end…

I would like to recognize front end manager Teresa at the Idlewild Rd Harris Teeter. I have been shopping there many years. I use my debit card to pay for my groceries. Last week i accidently left my debit card at the register. When i missed it this week I cąlled and Teresa told me my card had been turned in. I canʼt say enough goog things about this store. Always clean and efficient. The important part is the diligence of the personnel to help with a smile and calling you by name. In todays busy world itʼs the little things that make a difference. Bad Teeter!! Store #85 Herndon VA Highland Crossing Drive

I visit this store 3-4-5 times weekly due to location and each is experience gets worse than the previous visit. I don’t think it can get much worse. The shelves are often bare or sold out of sale items on the day the sale starts and often the items are never replenished throughout the week.

There’s seldom an open check out station with a human cashier working. 90% of the time you’re forced to use the self check out which is designed for low volume shoppers with smaller quantities. Those stations aren’t designed for checking out with 40-50+ items, not to mention they’re usually aren’t all working and it’s annoying if you’re stuck waiting behind families with large carts a weeks worth of groceries and you only a few items.

The Customer Service desk is seldom staffed and regularly closes early eliminating the ability to purchase lotto or Mega Million electronic tickets, cigarettes or others services that only that desk provides. Wednesday night the Supervisor overseeing the self/express check stations (the ones that were actually operational) couldn’t assist anyone at the Customer Service counter because it was closed at 8:00 but the store is open until 11:00 and the counter was closed, who knows when it was actually shut down.

There’s always returned or perhaps employee food in the ice freezers at the entryway that you have sort through if you’re purchasing ice. It’s just bizarre.

The cart barns in the parking lot are usually full so shoppers just leave the empty carts in an adjacent parking space or somewhere in the lot where cars drive. I suspect customers figure if the staff doesn’t care about retrieving the carts, why should they go out of their way to find a place to secure their empty cart.

Amanda Blake, the Store Director is never available to speak with customers and has never responded to any of the emails, hand written or telephone messages I’ve left for her to politely communicate my challenges, so here I am on this website.

It will be interesting to see if someone from a regional office the corporate headquarters responds. My VIC # 46899273811

The don't trust their customers

They run short-staffed, so they have a self-checkout area with a staff person staring at you as you DIY. Their system will stop and alert the staff multiple times because it believes you're stealing. The staff comes over, watches a video, and clears it until it happens again. Last time, it happened twice and the staff person watched the video in detail and of course found nothing wrong. That was enough; I walked, leaving them to put the items back and will not return. I will go out of my way to use other retailers.

Harris Teeter, Belmont, NC

The Harris Teeter store in Belmont, NC carried the 1.5 liter bottles of Sutter Home Red Blend every since they opened. Well, they don't now and the other Harris Teeter stores I have visited don't carry that wine as well. I know I'm not the only (former) customer who purchase this wine there. I have discontinued shopping at Harris Teeter altogether. They are no different in this regard than other retail grocers.

Dishonest Pricing

Purchased 2 Hass Avocados 12/12/23 and was charged 3.49 each. Was so shocked at checkout I didn't know how to react but should have just left. If Harris Teeter wants my money, why not just say you're going to steal it. Same Hass Avocados on Food Lions Weekly online ad are .89 cents each. Harris Teeter just stole $5.20 from my family on the purchase of 2 items. We will never shop at Harris Teeter again....

Harris Teeter is no more…

I have been shopping at Harris Teeter for almost 30 years and have loved it. Then Kroger took over. Harris Teeter has become Kroger, dumpy bad, produce missing items, filthy stores, and a rotten shopping experience. The worst thing Harris Teeter did was to sell out to Kroger. I will be doing the rest of my shopping at Publix, which is just slightly better than Kroger/Harris Teeter. With Amazon prime, the bulk of my shopping will be at Whole Foods. I already get my dog food at chewy and laundry sheets (instead of detergent) on line and will be looking to peel more away from Publix. Mergers have been bad for consumers, and I miss the local grocery and pharmacy/drugstores. The worst companies are getting bigger, gobbling up their competition, with declining customer service, but proliferating customer surveys which mean nothing.
