The product works great but it seems…

The product works great but it seems like the company is on life support. I’m trying to get troubleshooting support as my device won’t show in my app and won’t “disconnect “ from my Wi-Fi so I can reconnect .
Anyone on here have ideas to do a factory reset on the unit?

Company has degraded to fraudulent

Used their device with mixed results. Got diagnosed with a terminal cancer around the same time they offered a device swap upgrade due to a wifi certificate or something expiring in the original device. Went ahead and "purchased" the upgrade device as I didn't want to leave my family with something inoperable. 10 months later, no replacement device received, wifi still functional on original, and completely ghosted by the company. I've since isolated the device so it functions as just a wireless temp sensor. Their web app has been going offline so I'll probably rip the whole thing out and jerry rig a smart thermostat if I'm still around this spring.

I purchased a home in another state

I purchased a home in another state, and I wanted to have access to the pool pumps, and heater remotely. The heater reader was just want I needed, without having to spend thousands of dollars on a pool automation system. During the self-installation, your technical support was very helpful. I would recommend this product for new and existing pools that do not have a built-in controller. The only thing I would change would be is an update to the ISO app. I would like to be able to turn on/ off different schedules, without having to deleting it and then adding it back again later. My pool is in another state, and when I'm not using it, I like to change the times of when the pumps run, to avoid running during peak electric rates, when I'm not there using the pool.

over all I'm very happy with this product.

I will NEVER own a pool without a HeaterReader!!

I've had the HeaterReader for several years now, and absolutely LOVE this device. At first I was a little skeptical that I needed it, but very quickly after starting to use it, I came to realize the convenience and capability it provides and the peace of mind I get from being able to know and control my pool's status from ANYWHERE!

I used to have to physically walk out to the pool shed, activate the pool pump, turn on the heater, wait for it to fire up and confirm all is operational, etc. Now I simply look at my phone and use their intuitive, straightforward app and have all the info and control I need.

We use our pool now so much more frequently because it's ready WHEN WE NEED IT TO BE! I can't recall how many times we've had to delay family pool party gatherings through the 18 years of pre-HeaterReader pool ownership because I didn't have the pool ready in time because of my work schedule keeping me from getting the heater on soon enough.

Since owning the HeaterReader these past several years, we have now also several grand children so having the pool ready to go is a high priority! We don't stress over pool get-togethers because we know the pools status and can activate the system from anywhere (ie... on a motorcycle ride and we learn that the kids are coming over at dinner time that day.... we get the pool heater going remotely using our HeaterReader and we're ready for the entourage when we get home!).

I will NEVER own a pool without a HeaterReader!!

From the initial sales to recent support inquiries (for resetting my WiFi when a new system was installed at home), the staff at HeaterReader and top-notch, friendly, responsive and knowledgeable. Awesome product from a truly awesome company!

I have owned my heater reader since…

I have owned my heater reader since 2018.....been a God send to my system..... SO very glad I have had it! Does a great job.... and is a very very inexpensive way to not only control your heater but to also monitor your heater & pool system from your phone anywhere in the world!

HeaterReader After 4 years

We have owned our HeaterReader for 4 seasons and it has worked great for us! It's amazing to be able to control the pool temperature from my phone from anywhere. We will often wake up and kick on the heater so we will be ready to swim by early afternoon. It's great that we can do that from our bed rather than going outside to the back of the pool and pushing buttons on the heater. Not only that, it does a great job of scheduling when the pump runs and we also have on/off control of the pump.

From a longevity standpoint, the unit has worked as well now then when we got it four years ago. It has been left out in the winter and we have only removed the connections. The unit itself has been totally fine out in the elements.

I installed this myself and ended up having to make a support request. It was handled in a timely manner and I was able to get it installed and wired to the heater on my own. Over the four years, I've had two issues... One was when we got a mesh network. The HeaterReader lost connection here and there. Support helped me realize it was the mesh system that was the problem and when I connected it directly to our main router, everything was fixed. Last year, I was having trouble getting everything started. I reached out to customer service and they helped me a reset of the unit. That's all it took to work perfectly for the entire season.

It's a great product with solid customer service. I also don't think there are many residential options that do this as well as HeaterReader especially considering the price point.

We ordered the product in July

We ordered the product in July. After multiple emails to them, they responded and said they had a unit they would send. They said they would give us a discount and add an extended warranty for free. They said they were behind on orders. Have since emailed them several times with no response. It’s December. No communication or product. Seems like a scam. I don’t think they ever will send the product. And they won’t respond to requests to refund my money. Trying to get my credit card company to treat it as fraud. Because it is.

Still waiting for the refund of a…

Still waiting for the refund of a Heaterreader device that interfered with our pool pump. We paid for the device, the installation and the service to remove the device. It's been 2 years of extremely bad customer service. Not like the Canadian companies that I have used.

Do not make business with this company!
I contacted them originally not knowing that they are actually based out of Canada. At first during the sales phase their response was fast and sincere.
After some emails going back and forth I agree to purchase the product and installation through them.
The next phase it got quieter. They contacted me again because the sales person did a mistake with the currency charging me in Canadian $ rather than in US$ After some time the sales person contacted me again and said something to the effect that they would not refund the money and resend a new invoice with the correct US$ amount instead they would leave it at that as a deposit because they hadn’t enough product in stock and the “deposit” would help me keeping my reservation status. (There was never a word said that they hadn’t have enough in the first place) I agreed and waited. Several weeks later I ask for an update and no answer. A week later or so I send a reminder. No answer!
I contacted the credit company and canceled the order. Based on the credit card company it will take up to 90 days to have the dispute solved.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service , stay away!
Ordered a Heaterreader for my pool and it says that it ships fast.
No shipment came , and my weeks in FL ran out so I contacted them.
They said that there were weeks of delay and that it still would take a long time. I told them then to just cancel my order and refund me. That was in late November , and now its way in january they still havent refunded me.
Got alot of emails blaming the accountant is sick , promise to follow up the same day but doesnt and so on.
So stay clear of this company , seems like a scam more than legimate business.
